Auto Saver managed that transition smoothly, but I've not had reason to return for help until today when I discovered I had lost my current "proof of insurance" card. Not a good idea to drive around without this proof! So I stopped by their office with my account number, expecting that they would verify the account and contact my carrier for new documents. No! They checked my account and printed the "proof" on the spot. Quickly and efficiently done by very friendly people. It was a wonderful experience. Local is usually best! Well Biance went through a list of discounts and agencies to see what fit best for my needs and wouldn't you know it; she was able to get higher coverage and lower my rates by half. Yes it does benefit you to go to someone who does not work on commission because she was literally fishing for discounts. I also got very lucky when I walked into the busienss as it was not busy at all and the same person who had answered the phone, Bianca, was able to help me so I had a great experience. A mysterious auto accident appeared on my record when I was out of town and she actually researched it as I suppose the DMV does make mistakes and she found that it was not me and was able to quote my insurance rate without that accident which I now have to clear up with the DMV to make sure that they don't keep it on my record. She must be a yelper because people don't really go out of their way like that unless they themselves know that you never know who is and who isn't a yelper so you always give the best service you possibly can. I price shopped because I'm frugal, and they came out the least expensive, and had good reviews. When I agreed and went to sign the paperwork there was a one time $300.00 fee to work with Virtue 1st. I was disappointed, and felt a bit cheated, but agreed because I like to keep my business with companies I regularly work with. The second issue is that I had a really tough time communicating with the agent. I would ask a question which I felt was pretty direct or even yes/no, but the answer would be a 20 minute discussion, which sometimes left me more confused than I was before. I've been working with insurances as an Office Manager for multiple companies for over a decade, so this really threw me off. It got so bad that I actually dreaded being on the phone with the agent. My policy was set to renew in March 2020. I never received any paperwork from the agent or the carrier. After a month, I reached out to the agent to inquire about my policy. I received no response. Two urgent emails and two urgent phone calls were left. I still heard nothing. I finally reached out to the carrier and after quite a hassle, they were able to find me a new agent. I don't know if it was the carrier who dropped the ball, or the agent, but I feel like the agent should have at least responded! I do realize that many businesses have been hurt by the pandemic, but our company had 2 major projects that were negatively impacted by this lack of response.
