Took a car for a pre purchased inspection. They look at the engine and transmission. Gave a good report. They didn't check anything on the interior. The window buttons are broken. I expected for PPI they do a full walk through. Plus, they put a deep scratch on the car when they backed up. read more

Ron has been in business for a long time and has probably worked on every type of European Car malfunction you can dream up. This time I had an oil leak on the valve cover. Long story short... I dropped off the car on Friday and within about 2 hours the diagnostic confirmed it was a valve cover leak. The part was ordered, quoted a fair price, and I had the car back by Monday evening after the weekend. Maybe I got lucky with the timing but I have to say to get that work done in such a quick turnaround really made things a lot easier logistically having one less car. If you need work done quickly and at a fair price then Ron and his team at Automeister will get the job done. I will be trusting this shop for as long as I'm in Stockton and driving a Bimmer :) read more

Dave, at Automeister did a great job on my daughter's car. He knew what the problem was right away and said he could get it fixed within the hour. It is so nice knowing an honest mechanic you can trust. Thanks Dave! read more

There are no words to describe how grateful we are to Ron and his team at Automeister. Had a coolant leak on a 15-hour road trip with my two children. Called half a dozen shops before speaking with Ron who ended up getting us back on the road that very day. It would have been easy to take advantage of the situation but Ron was honest and just an overall stand-up guy. Big thanks to his wife who picked up a part and the mechanic (so sorry I've forgotten his name) who worked so hard to get us back on the road safely. Automeister is the best around. read more

Honest repair shop, all you ask for from one! I don't trust the Mercedes dealer in town, this place is a gem!

Long time customer. Always ready to help. If you own a Volvo, this is the place to go anywhere in the Stockton area, hands down !

They were recommended to me by another shop when I thought the tranny in my XC 90 was going out. Thankfully, it was just the right axle. They knocked it all out quickly at a good price. It is a Volvo after all. I do recommend them if you've got a Volvo that needs work. read more

Ron at Automeister had the same diagnosis as BMW dealer but at a lower price. Repairs were finished when promised. Thanks!

Ron and his family have done a wonderful job with my 2000 S 500 Mercedes Benz... Great Customer service...

Ron is the best. He knows his stuff and cuts a square deal. Don't waste money at the dealer. Do yourself a favor and come see Ron.

I had the misfortune of coming here only for my car to be misdiagnosed which costed me $90. $90 for people to connect your car to a small computer and check underneath your car? Some places don't even charge this much or even at all. Thankfully I took my car back because they said my water pump was leaking and quoted me over $1800 to fix. This didn't seem right to me because my leak was clearly coming from near my coolant tank and not in front of my car where the water pump is. My uncle is an auto mechanic and wasn't able to go to him at first because he was out of town. But thankfully I was patient enough to take my car back from this place and wait for him to help me. Turns out, it was my hosing that was leaking. I spent $400 from the dealer to buy the parts and had my uncle replace them. I own an Audi and am happy to spend money when there is a problem but not when something doesn't seem right. I could have spent money on something that wasn't the real problem and then spend even more to fix it. The dishonesty really upsets me because you trust that people can help you. Because of this experience, it makes me scared and uneasy to trust businesses to help with an issue. I will not be coming back here. I wouldn't give any stars if I could. It's too bad because the owners here seem really nice. Please be careful when taking your car here. read more

Great work done to the BMW! His mechanics know what they're doing and do it right, compared to the previous shop it was taken to this place did an excellent job. Had a multitude of problems that were fixed including the shoddy job done by the previous shop! Located in the rougher part of town, finding this gem is worth while. They specialize in European cars, which is rare to find someone who knows what they're doing in town. Also provide a year warranty on parts! Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. read more

Automeister - Ron in the picture! Garage full of cars being worked on - Auto Repair Near Me - Stockton, California

Excellent service! Ron and staff are friendly and extremely knowledgeable on BMW repairs. I had a new starter installed and I felt the cost was extremely reasonable. My car was fixed the same day it was brought in. I definitely recommend Automeister!! read more

I have had my 2014 Volvo worked on a few times by the guys at Automeister. I felt they were always honest and fair. I also take my Mini in when needed. Great shop. Honest work. Highly recommended!! read more

I totally agree with Marc Y. review. The man and the place is a rip-off. They charge more than BMW and the place looks like a dump. You take your car in there and you will pay highly for substandard and UNEEDED service. The owner thinks that everyone that walks in there is an idiot that knows nothing about cars and he takes advantage of it. Go to the dealer, at least they guarantee their work read more

I'm writing this review for my FIL, who had car troubles driving south on I-5 from Washington State. He called me, and I located Automeister from an internet listing for Mercedes repair in Stockton. His Mercedes is approximately 25 years old. Excellent service in connection with my Mercedes. The car had stopped running on the freeway and had to be towed in. Automeister had the car repaired in under 30 minutes at a very reasonable price. A very welcome change from my local Mercedes dealer who would have charged me $195 just for a "diagnostic charge"! Kudos to Automeister! read more

When I pulled up to Automeister's, it was exactly what I had been looking for, a family run Autohaus with over 30 years of service. Ron quickly serviced my vehicle and got my Mercedes back on the road the same day. This guy is an honest, hardworking, family man and you can trust him with your repairs. I highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

Ron and his mechanics are awesome! I snapped a stud while working on my car over the weekend and none of the local parts places carried it (specific to my Bimmer of course). Luckily, BMW of Modesto didn't answer their phone (not uncommon for them). I called the Automeister and spoke with the owner, Ron. He asked me to bring the part by to see what he could do. One of his mechanics found an extra one in his work area and gave to me for even less than the cheapest I could find it online (and would have had to wait a week to get it)!... Got an estimate for some future work to be done and they are reasonable too. In the auto industry, where shops won't even look at your problem without charging you an hour labor first, it's nice to know there's a local shop that's happy to help without gouging the customer. Thanks Ron! read more

I wouldn't bring my cars to anyone else, Ron and his staff are so kind and honest. Pricing is fair and they do amazing work.

Awesome awesome place! The prices are very reasonable and the service was wonderful. I got a ride to and from the shop which made it so much easier for me and my family. Thank u automeister! read more

After the dealership decided to stop servicing Volvo's, I was left with the chore of trying to find someone who could service my car. I have been very pleased with Ron and his staff, and their ability and workmanship. I immediately trusted Ron, and to be honest, that is the key when dealing with car issues! I will continue to give Ron my business, and will refer friends and relatives as well! read more

This shop has been in business in Stockton for years! I own a 25 year old Mercedes and its difficult to find a technician that is familiar with this car. I found them here! Very friendly,. No pressure and finished when promised with no surprises. I will be back as needed. read more

This establishment does not deserve 1 star. Absolutely incompetent and unprofessional. I took my Mercedes S430 to Automeister with a serious problem. Not only did they NOT fix it, they made it worse. I paid over $3000.00 to fix a safety problem and they sent my family out on the highway with serious problems that another Service Center diagnosed in 10 minutes. I took it back to have it corrected, and they charged me $500.00 more to NOT correct the problem. Just look at the condition of the office and the shop. What a dump. Completely filthy and unorganized. That will indicate the type of service you are going to receive. The owner Ron will con you and have no clue as to what they can do for you. His mechanics have even less. Even when I explicitly demonstrated and explained it to them. When I picked the car up, it was obvious that they had done repairs, and not even test driven the vehicle. You cannot trust your lives or money to these folks. STAY AWAY read more
