I have no complaints about the fence. They finished everything in one day. With that said, I am deducting a star because the crew tripped my breaker box. They plugged in a battery (Milwaukee? It was red. See photo) to the outlet I had a licensed contractor install to a recent closet extension in my backyard. I'm not sure how they even found that outlet as it's not close to the shared fence and is hidden by the A/C unit. I'm also not sure why they were that deep in my backyard when they were just supposed to be working on installing the new fence. If they had simply asked for permission to plug in the battery, this wouldn't have been an issue. I saw the battery charging as I was checking on the progress of the fence throughout the morning and thought nothing of it. It wasn't until that evening where I noticed that all the outlets in the back room didn't work that I started questioning the reason for the outage. After racking my brain and attempting to reset the breaker box, it dawned on me that it was because one of the workers was charging their battery. I don't know the voltage of the battery that they were charging, but it was too much for that outlet. They should've just used an outlet from my neighbor.

I called Rick for a gate repair job at the last minute. I sensed that his day was pretty packed. He promised that he would try to drop by if his other jobs ended early. I was so pleasantly surprised that both Rick and Cody showed up after lunch and in less than 30 minutes, they accurately diagnosed and fixed my problem by tightening a slipping clutch. Jordan, the sales rep and project manager, was responsive and easy to work with. He scheduled the project to meet our needs and around some tricky weather. He checked in with me to ensure I was happy with the design and made sure the wood and lattice matched our property. And Alejandro and the crew did good work. I was happy with the build quality. They quickly set up an appointment to examine the damage and get me a quote. As promised I had a quote in my inbox later that day. They did great work. You can't even tell an idiot in a BMW crashed into it. After the metal work was done we discovered the motor was damaged. They worked with their supplier to get the motor back to the manufacture to be repaired saving me hundreds over a new motor. Now everything is as good as new again. Most importantly though they had great communication. I've noticed that contractors/home improvement businesses have horrible communication and you have to stay on top of them to get things done and find out what's going on. Not with L&J. Chris was in constant contact with me about the status of the repair and getting the motor fixed. Chris was always friendly, professional and kept me in the loop of what was happening with my repair. I would definitely recommend them and use them again if the need arises.

Breach of contract: Will not support the contract warranty…read more The metal gate will not latch and close because of a latch alignment problem of 1 1.2 - 2". Aiden came out on 6/17/23 to confirm it, and said he would work this into the schedule. On 7/13 the company said they would send someone on 7/14/26. When I called them and no one showed up either time they told me someone came out earlier than the time quoted me. I told them they had not. My security camera confirmed that. They then said someone would come out on Saturday, 7/18/26 from 10-noon. No one came as confirmed by my security cameras. I told them each time that I live in a high fire risk area, and if I had to evacuate and the gate malfunctioned (it would not let us out once) so I could not get out, we would be burned alive. The message we got is that that would be ok with them. Bottomline: they do not honor their warranties even if the customer is ENDANGERED.
