I like most ppl called a mechanic I always take my car too. He said he was too busy and wouldn't be able to see my car till 1 week later plus I had to find and bring all the parts to get the best deal. Mind you this is my commuter car I can't wait 2 week run around get parts. So I decided to call around. 1st to see if the price was right. 2nd see if I anyone can do this the quickest. Need to get back on the road. I must of called 20 different places got all sorts of quotes but no one was legit in terms of parts being use and time frame. I was so tired and upset not having a car I might lose my job COVID and all. I was at the breaking point. It was around 7 pm I got a Call from Richard who I called earlier and he said he will get back to me. He explained it all to me and the time frame and the work and parts etc. He was the only one that spent time to listen to my concerns know my budget and time frame. It's like god heard my cry's and came through. It's truly amazing to know good ppl still out there and understand the struggles. I felt appreciate and he definitely showed empathy. I would like to say thank you for all that you have done. Richard took it to the next level when we sent me pictures of the progress what's going on with my car. He strives to communicate as much information as he can. So far I have told all my coworkers and family that needs any type of service to at least get a second opinion. I though I had a person I could trust who I went to for everything over the last 10 years have given my old mechanic soo much Business only to find out he really didn't care especially when I needed him the most. Well I guess everything happens for a reason. I'm so glade I found Richard at transmission Depot he truly deserve a 5 start rating and I hope everyone else would agree. Al fixed my transmission and provided a warranty on it for a year!! The car light came just after a year(outside of the warranty) and he happily checked it and fixed whatever the issue was for free. HEARTLESS PIGS! Dave is a direct and a real genuine human in an undisguised mechanic body that will give your auto 'buddy' the right touch so that it's back on the road taking you from A to Z without having to worry, "Did they use the right oil, or was it Canola? Dang it! OMG, people without a vehicle at the moment do not know how lucky they are that the only thing they have to worry about is their presto card refills!!!" Like really people, we go through too much already to have to even fight this kind of battle!! You call this place up, already booking some days is quite tedious as their shop is humbly set up, enough for only a few vehicles at a time and the work is tediously done without the acquisitive approach on giving quotes on excess work you don't need at the moment. Without an appointment he lifted my car to take a look at what was wrong and proceeded to show me, in detail (and plain english) what was wrong with my brakes, exhaust etc. I knew I needed brake and exhaust work, and all other mechanics I visited gave me a rough estimate without explaining how, why or what specific work was required. Dave was happy to have me watch as he inspected my car, and then gave me a very fair estimate. When I picked up my car the next day, the final bill was actually less than he estimated, plus he changed the air filter (something he noticed that needed to be done while he was working on the car) Definitely a positive experience with a trustworthy mechanic in Toronto. Not the closest most convenient location to me (I live downtown), but just north of Finch Subway station (either walk or bus). I'll definitely be seeing Dave again next time my car has any trouble, and will be recommending him to family and friends.
