Audio Extreme - Entrance

Audio Extreme

My car audio system is one which I installed myself a few years ago in a 1992 Caprice. It's a…read morefairly complex system with component speakers consisting of separate woofer/tweeter modules in four locations, each with it's own crossover network. I have a 10" sub with a dedicated mono amp triggered by the main 4-channel amp. A while back, I started having problems with speakers cutting in and out and channel cross-talk; sure signs of wiring problems. Soon after, the head unit died. After kicking myself for using inferior wire and taking too many shortcuts.... I brought my car to Audio Extreme and explained my troubles. I knew I needed new wires and was OK with replacing any hardware needed. They fixed everything and even built a really neat tray for my sub woofer enclosure. They cleaned up my installation of the amps and crossovers which are in the trunk by mounting both amps and the 2 rear left/right channel cross over devices on a board that stands up vertically behind the back seat. They relocated the front left and right tweeters. Every wire and interconnect was replaced with new, better quality wire than I had originally used and fixed the head unit by replacing it's fuse. I'm certain that almost anyone else would have taken advantage of me on the fuse thing by selling me a new head unit. The sub woofer tray is something I wasn't expecting and is especially nice. I need the sub to be portable because I use it occasionally in my back yard patio system. When I built the enclosure for it I added a carrying handle and used quick disconnects so I could quickly move it from car to patio and back. I used a ratchet strap to keep it from sliding around in the trunk. The tray keeps it firmly in place yet it lifts out easily and the tray occupies very little trunk space. I walked in thinking that, along with new wires I was going to have to buy a new head unit. Van and his crew sorted things out, rewired the whole thing and made improvements to nearly every aspect of the system. They did all this at a very reasonable price. Over 30% less than what I told him I was willing to spend, and half of what I was actually willing to spend. It sounds and looks better than ever.

They installed a new stereo system with CarPlay to replace the old one. Did a good job!read more
