I've used this place in the past and never had issues. Needed some brakes on my car and my normal shop quoted 275 $ . Kinda steep I thought .. I've done my own brakes and didnt take me more than an hour and some basic rental tools. Shop quoted me 35$ for labor and 20$ to resurface the rotors. I supplied my own parts. Out the door ? 95$ . Quick , honest and small hole in the wall.

TEN YEARS LATER UPDATE!…read more I cannot give a stronger vote of confidence to The Car Connection. They have serviced my 2004 Toyota Corolla since the car was brand new. They have helped this car last FOREVER. Oil changes, brakes, tune ups and all the required maintenance has been performed by the trusted Car Connection mechanics. This damn car has outlasted all of my family members and neighbors cars. Over the last 10-15 years, I have endlessly heard the following: "Duuuuude, are you still driving that Corolla?" "I can't believe that old ass car is still driving!" "How long are you gonna keep that damn Corolla?" "Don't you want to get something new?" This car was paid off so many years ago, I forgot what it's like to even have a car payment. No shame in my game. I'm good with no car payment. For the last 18 years, this car has sipped gasoline up and down the California coast, to Las Vegas and all over the unpaved roads of Baja California, México. All the automatic windows work. One failed, but Louie fixed it. A/C blows ice cold. Always has. When the battery died, Louie would replace it. Brakes get squeaky, Louie would replace them. Still a very smooth ride after all these years. Original engine. Original transmission. The digital odometer broke and froze at 299,999 miles many years ago. Since the odometer froze, we estimated the car has a total of at least 450,000 miles. No joke. This car is still mechanically sound. Took it to Toyota for an see the airbag light on the dash was related to an airbag recall. The official Toyota comprehensive inspection revealed, aside from the airbag issue, no red flags. LOLOLOL. The moral of the story is this. Get yourself an honest, reliable mechanic. Stick with them. Take their advice when they make repair recommendations. Don't save a nickel today to only end up paying a dollar tomorrow. Even for a Corolla, I got an unreal amount of use out of my vehicle. Its very important to give credit when it's due. The Car Connection is legendary in San Diego for providing the best possible guidance for maintaining your vehicle. The next time your car needs service or has issues... you know where to go.

I was diagnosed in like 1 minute and they told me exactly what it would cost, right away. They also suggested I call around and get a few other quotes, which I appreciated because it felt like they were looking out for me. They ended up being the best price, and in 2 days my engine was replaced on my 2008 Scion xB. They didn't make me feel stupid for not noticing that I was leaking oil, which I also appreciated. A week later my alternator went out and I took it back to 24th right away. They were on it right away and I can tell they really care about getting my car back to a reliable state. I brought my car back for an oil change a few days ago and they recognized me, treated me super nice, and had it done in ten minutes. I'm really stoked to finally have a mechanic I can trust. My car is running beautifully and I didn't have to get a new one...so grateful!

Villa and the English speaker wouldn't listen to me about my car just shutting off/stalling on the freeway & claimed twice that they fixed everything. After almost 1,000 spent, it was having the same issues, but worse. I was promised that they test drove it & I could take it on the freeway and that was a lie. I broke twice after they said it was fixed. I was trying to explain what issue kept arising & the guy kept cutting me off just saying it costs a lot of money. Literally just playing around in my car & not fixing the main issue. They just made a lot of money doing maintenance & now my car had been towed back home & basically totaled. I tried to tell them it may be the fuel injectors like another mechanic said , but they wouldn't listen to me because I'm a female & just went on replacing a bunch of stuff that wasn't the problem. They really ruined my car situation and now I have to get a new one. Money wastes and now my car is worse; I can't drive it in to a mechanic, now I have to tow it in. I'm figuring out what the next steps are to take because this is not right.
