We enjoy the summer activities, holiday festivities and everything else they put together for the kids and families. It was an easy decision when it came to enrolling our second child. And since we already had that rapport built with the administrative staff and great relationships with the teachers, we were still comfortable starting our child in the infant classroom (even though our first didn't start there). Zero regrets. The app is great for communicating the Ms. Tasha and the teachers. Response times are great, and the attitudes of the teachers are always positive. During our very short stay after a long waiting period consisted of our child only attending 37% of the paid time due to sickness. One time resulting in contracting RSV. The staff was compromised due to lack of direction and or positive affirmation from the director. It cost me more money to have my child out sick than him being there. Most importantly my child's well being. They even forgot to feed my infant for 5 1/2 hours and laid him in a crib to scream himself to sleep. To remedy we stuck reminder stickers with feeding times "feed me at 7:30" . I pray the State looks into this establishment. One benefit was the regional director. Her influence on the center could not be implemented due to her subordinates. If you care for your child DO NOT LET THEM CARE FOR YOUR CHILDREN.

Needless to say, we were less than satisfied at her previous daycare. Although that particular daycare provided live streaming of the infant room (which was a large selling point for me at the time), I found myself constantly distracted by the footage while at work mainly because I was concerned about the level of care she was receiving. It became quite disruptive to my workday. This previous daycare required that I write them each morning to tell them what time I would be dropping off my daughter. Anyone who has small children knows how chaotic and unpredictable the morning routine can be, and this became an added stress. Despite dropping my daughter off after they opened, I would be met with obvious sighs and eye rolls from staff if I showed up before 8am. Additionally, this previous daycare would frequently call and have me leave my work early to pick up my daughter for being "fussy," insisting she was sick when she wasn't (I am a doctor, so I can actually tell these things). All of these factors contributed to us moving to KinderCare and I have no doubt in my mind that we made the right decision. From the moment we entered KinderCare for a tour, I was blown away. They are a well-oiled machine and the process of drop offs and pick ups is streamlined. Their professionalism and communication are unmatched. I feel like my daughter gets so much care and attention from the staff. It honestly feels like she is with family when I take her to KinderCare. I love that we get periodic updates and photos throughout the day without the added pressure of livestream, which actually can be more of a burden than a help. I feel like the price is more than reasonable for the care our daughter receives. She has continued to thrive at KinderCare. She is meeting all of her developmental milestones and she couldn't be happier or healthier. So glad we made the switch to KinderCare!

The first time we took her was during Covid and she tested positive during her stay. However, instead of isolating her by herself in a room, they sent her home. The county person who was called out to consult about the situation, told us they should have kept her. I was a bit surprised, but understood why they would release her. They would want a client who could participate and they needed her room for that client. However, the 2nd time we took her there, it took us 2 weeks and several discussions to convince them to give her the prescribed meds she needed to remain stable! That seemed very odd and unprofessional! I'd even say negligent! The 3rd time we took her there, they asked us to participate in a Family Session with their "therapist." This very young woman obviously had no experience in leading a family session. She sat there mute, not asking any questions of any of the 3 of us. I kept hinting, what she could do to get a conversation going, but she didn't get it. I finally took over and started asking the questions of each of my own family, including myself and our daughter. Being a Family Therapist myself, it was a good thing I knew what I was doing. However, for most, if not all, of their clients, they would not know how to do that. Bottom line, they need to. hire professionals to work in their program, not inexperienced students. They also need to follow protocol on meds!

Based on that information, she traveled a very long distance to Fresno to receive urgently needed inpatient psychiatric care. Six days into treatment, while she was still an inpatient, we were abruptly informed that her stay was not covered by insurance after all. This disclosure was delivered without adequate preparation, emotional support, or coordinated clinical involvement -- despite the fact that she was being treated for significant anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and distress intolerance. The impact of this sudden news was severe. During this time, administrative staff did not return calls or respond to repeated inquiries. There was no meaningful guidance, transition planning, or support offered to help stabilize the situation. The result was that my daughter left the facility in crisis -- far from home, stranded in Fresno, without housing, and emotionally overwhelmed. As a parent, I had to urgently travel to Fresno myself to ensure her safety and arrange alternative care. The financial and emotional toll was significant. If you are considering sending a loved one here, please be cautious. Insurance verification and discharge communication are critical in psychiatric care settings. In our case, the lack of clear communication, administrative responsiveness, and crisis support caused additional trauma during an already vulnerable time. I would not want another family to experience what we did.

I also was not allowed to get or give the front office any information, though I was the one to initiate services. I was told only mom could do things like make and change appointments. Over months and months of interactions, I was treated rudely and dismissively and repeatedly reminded that my opinion didn't matter by both office staff and the clinician.

My experience with Speech Therapy Link (also known as Therapy Link) in Fresno was deeply…read moredisappointing--not because a business has attendance policies, but because of the lack of understanding, compassion, and basic professionalism shown when I tried to discuss my child's care. As a parent, I communicated with the office when circumstances affected an appointment and specifically attempted to reschedule. I value communication and made an effort to keep the office informed. What I did not expect was to later have my circumstances characterized by the owner as a "behavioral pattern." That language was astonishingly inappropriate and unnecessarily personal. There is a major difference between explaining an attendance policy and labeling a parent who is trying to communicate, explain circumstances, and advocate for their child. A pediatric therapy practice should understand that families--especially families raising children who require ongoing services--sometimes face complicated and unforeseen circumstances. Policies can be enforced without stripping a conversation of empathy, dignity, or common courtesy. The final phone conversation with the owner was particularly disturbing. Rather than having a calm, respectful, solution-focused discussion about continuity of care, I experienced what I perceived as abject rudeness, dismissiveness, and an adversarial attitude. The owner repeatedly brought up terminating my child's services based on alleged "no-shows," despite my efforts to explain that I had communicated with the office and attempted to reschedule. When I continued advocating for my child and expressing my concerns, the owner INTENTIONALLY hung up on me. THAT MOMENT told me EVERYTHING I needed to know about whether this was "business" I wanted involved in my child's care. Parents should never have to tolerate disrespect simply because they are questioning a policy or advocating for continuity of services. Working with children requires more than providing therapy--it requires the ability to communicate professionally with the families responsible for those children. Clinical services and compassion should not be mutually exclusive. Unfortunately, the communication I experienced from this business felt dismissive, judgmental, and at times reminiscent of a "mean-girl" mentality rather than the maturity and collaboration I would expect from professionals serving vulnerable children and their families. I fully understand that practices need cancellation and attendance policies. Families also have a responsibility to communicate--and communication is something I took seriously. But there is absolutely no justification for making parents feel personally labeled, speaking to them with hostility, threatening discontinuation of a child's services instead of attempting reasonable problem-solving, or ending a difficult conversation by hanging up. Families seeking speech therapy are often already carrying more than outsiders realize. The last thing they need is a provider who responds to advocacy with judgment rather than understanding. If you are considering Speech Therapy Link/Therapy Link in Fresno, I strongly recommend asking very specific questions beforehand about how missed appointments are classified, whether attempts to reschedule are still counted as no-shows, how disputes are handled, and under what circumstances a child's services may be terminated. Children deserve continuity of care. Parents deserve to be heard. And disagreement is never an excuse for disrespect. Until you have walked in another person's shoes, you should be very careful about reducing their circumstances to assumptions or labels. Compassion costs nothing--but the way a business treats a parent during a difficult conversation speaks volumes about its culture. Thankfully, I listened to my husband's advice and moved on. I found another experienced speech provider that values communication, professionalism, and mutual respect. The difference has been telling.
