Le Lion is the cradle of the gin basil smash (I had never heard of it until I came here but it seems to be a Hamburg thing). You do pay a premium for the drink but it's the original and it's also a good drink. In conclusion: Come early to get inside for the full speakeasy experience. Service was good although I was a little dissapointed that there was either various Astra's or Carlsberg. The music bothered me a little here. They had a wide range but all played quietly. When they started playing Alternative or trance stuff then that sounded plain strange when it was so quiet. I was there on a Friday night and was surprised how quiet it was inside.
