As I was returning to my car, I could see it from a distance, someone had "keyed " scratch, the entire length of the driver's side of my vehicle. It was severe. Rule of thump: put water on a scratch on your auto finish, if the scratch disappears it can be buffed out. When I got home I ran the hose,wet the car, the scratch remained completely visible. As I'm new to Raleigh, and new to NC I didn't know who to call. I opened the Yelp app and contacted several repair shops based on reviews. They all responded promptly and gave a quote except one. The first one to respond didn't give me a quote, he set a time for the next day when he could come see it in person. The day Travis arrived a few minutes early and I was ready. He inspected the scratch and gave me a quote, best by several hundred $$ I was skeptical, I told Travis I was awaiting to hear from a couple more shops but I would let him know either way within a couple hours. I had a good feeling about Travis so even though his very much lower price gave me a "too good to be true" vibe, I needed my car fixed so I texted Travis. We set a time for two days later as I had to work around my schedule. Travis' two helpers arrived early, before Travis. They explained they would prep the car and could start immediately. I left them to get started as I had a project had had to attend. When I looked outside maybe 20 mins later Travis was there his truck unloaded, equipment set up. All three seemed very busy. What they had to do to get that scratch out was unreal. The scratch wasn't just to the metal, the metal was scratched as well. It was a lot of work many steps in the process and it took some time. As they neared completion of the project, one of the guys found me in my backyard and filled me in. I started towards my car, already close enough where the scratch was previously visible, I saw shiny pint. I continued to close the distance, scrutinizing with increased intensity. I was at the car, scanning the previously damaged area with my eyes. I saw no sign of any damage, no residual of the scratch whatsoever. My nightmare was over, Travis and his guys made my car look like brand new. I can once again drive my car with pride. When…read moreI talked them originally about the car they said yes we'd love to work on it they were all excited and it made sense being the car was already there. They even said it would probably be ready after a couple weeks. Actually said this twice. Fast forward about 4/5 weeks went by I still hadn't heard anything after being told it would be ready 2 weeks prior. I had another vehicle so I wasn't rushing plus I rather it be done right. So I call and they say oh we ran into issues with alignment so it may be the following week I told them that was fine because I was going to be out of town anyway. So they call and say hey your vehicle is ready come pick it up. So I immediately check the connections and they look loose but I didn't mention it until a little later in the day I notice I big gap where my bumper and headlight meet. So I call and their like yeah we did have some issues with connecting bumper and for me to reach out to insurance company because they paid for aftermarket parts basically placing some of the blame on them. They said they would submit pictures to the insurance company to see if they would fix it. They insurance company even said if they take the bumper off and return it then they can submit another order for a OME bumper or a better fit bumper. I waited and called back about a couple weeks later and they tell me they haven't heard anything and " I should poke the bear" My issue is the insurance company did their job. They paid YOU to order the parts and complete the repair. It's YOUR job to know what fits and what doesn't. I nor the repair company is responsible knowing any of that and to tell me it's my job to run down the insurance company is insane. They gave you a solution by saying send the bumper back and they didn't even do that! The right thing to do would be to call me and give me the option to either keep it as is for a discount on the deductible at least or wait extra time while they try to get a better one but no they just handed it back hoping I wouldn't say anything so now I have to spend more money and time getting it repaired CORRECTLY or deal with a bumper that's going to get worse as time goes on. This is the reason people don't trust businesses now. Thank you Love & Co. for absolutely nothing.
