The chocolate is still made by the same family that has owned the shop for generations. This chocolate shop has drawers of chocolates to sift through. This used to be a button shop for the royalty. The drawers were full of buttons that the royalty could pick from to be on their clothes. Now the drawers are filled with buttons of delicious chocolates. The staff was extremely helpful and very pleasant. Besides, who could be sour in a chocolate shop. It was some of the best chocolate we have ever had. We are keeping the hot chocolate mix for our trip to Tahoe later this year. It will be a way we can relive our amazing trip. I wanted to say thank you to the staff for being so friendly and helpful in selecting our chocolate. I gave it one Euro sign, but you could easily get carried away in here. We spent over $40 of chocolate because we knew we weren't going to be back anytime soon.

Unfortunately they are side by side on Kärntner Strasse. Sweet Dreams sells chocolates, Best of Vienna little statues of Empress Sissi, etc. The chocolates are great and the souvenirs, too, but it's not the best idea to have one of the same kind side by side - but well, if you want to pay twice the expenses for two shops... Oh, I forgot the third one of the same chain three houses down the street!!! Well, everything else was fine, the staff is pretty nice and competent. T-shirts with Austrian prints were also quite nice. It is better to buy your souvenirs here than at the small shops on the main streets, prices are better here.

Here you get all kinds of Austrian art, like glas works, scarfs and other accesoires…read more Not really the best of ideas, because you get those pieces at the Viennese museums, at the castles and special art places. There is a kitchen and table goods store downstairs across from the cathedral. Their stock was lovely but they had no dish towels. As we were walking back toward the hotel I noticed a sign across the street that said "Unique Souvenirs", so we headed for it. The first thing I saw was a black t-shirt w/ a rendition of Gustav Klimpt's "The Kiss". The woman who worked there found my size and then held up a shirt to "model" so we could see it out of the package. Mine! I asked her about dish towels and she told me they had them downstairs, took one look at my walking stick and offered to bring some up for me to look at. I very much appreciated her kindness. There were several patterns and colors in English and in German. The one I liked best was in German so that's the one we bought. They also have magnets, Mozartian rubber duckies and other tourist tchotchkes. It seems to be a single store, not a chain and the quality of their merchandise looks good. If you need souvenirs to bring back, this is the place for you.
