I am giving this company no stars. I ordered my fence in February. They finally started putting it up and June. Wait a minute yes, unfortunately I had a case of vertigo so I wasn't paying too much attention. They put up the wrong fence. I paid for a gate that is absolutely useless. They oh no I take that back. I can walk through it. I am now going outside to finish filling the holes where the posts are they didn't fill these things in. We're talking big holes so far I have put in. I have used 5 40 pound bags of dirt. it's hot outside. I'm by myself now and I'm 74 years old. I should've been told when I ordered the fence that they do not fill in the holes the fence that I asked that I was supposed to have paid for was a shadowbox fence I got a flat fence yes owned up to their. Yes, they owned up to their their mistake. I got a little discount but right now I'm out in the hot sun filling in these holes that in my opinion was the responsibility of the fence company. I didn't make the holes I paid for a fence to be put up that means filling in the holes. Pay a little more and have your fence put up by a reputable Well, I can't post this review without giving it a star. read more

I can see why they aren't BBB accredited. They're horrible. I contracted with these people to put a fence across my driveway so I can keep my dogs off the chain. The lock isn't closing right. The guy from Austintown fence who installed this fence came to look at it and agreed it needed adjusted. That was weeks ago. Can't get anyone on the phone, the office girl is as dumb as a stone and rude. No one returns a call. The problem I assume is there's no money involved as it's a simple adjustment but I can't do it. If I knew how I would. Point is they installed the fence but when I needed help because their fence faltered they can't be bothered. I'm on a busy street. My dogs jump on that fence if it gives and they run out onto the busy street and is hit by a car, then what? So point being. These people are rude, money grubbers who do not stand by their work. The fence going across my drive was not installed correctly. They won't fix it. DO NOT CONTRACT WITH THESE PEOPLE. FIND ANOTHER FENCE INSTALLER. If they do install a fence for you they won't fix it if something goes wrong. They're terrible. And I'm still left with a fence that the latch doesn't work and now I'm stuck to try to figure out what to do at this point. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEIR INSTALLERS STINK TOO. Again point is if I had known their customer service would be so terrible I would never have contracted the job. I talked to several people this morning and everyone says they're responsible to right the wrong but apparently they don't want to be bothered because they already made their money. What kind of company does that to a patron?? I spent thousands of dollars with these people. DON'T GO HERE. FIND ANOTHER FENCE CONTRACTOR AND DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. Many people have said that 'It used to be a good company until the new owner took over.' I believe it. This guy JJ is a real ass. He came out to tell me 'O yeah, it isn't right. It does need adjusted.' I'm still waiting for it to be fixed. LONG STORY SHORT THESE PEOPLE DO NOT STAND BY THEIR WORK. IF YOU DO PUT A FENCE WITH THEM AND SOMETHING GOES WRONG YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN. So all morning I'm running around trying to find someone to help fix this fence. A friend of a friend of a friend knows a guy so we'll see but I should not have to go through this and neither should anyone else, hence this review. DO NOT HAVE THESE PEOPLE INSTALL YOUR FENCE. JJ came out and gave me an initial estimate. Then when I went to get my permit the township was more lenient than I thought so I was able to have the fence expanded. After learning this I contacted Austintown Fence to have the estimate revised. JJ came out again and had some good ideas for the new updated fence. I waited a couple weeks but never got anything. I called the office and was told he was out of the country and would have the estimate to me the following Monday. Well, that was months ago and I still don't have it. Not sure what happened at Austintown Fence but they sure dropped the ball and lost close to 10k job. I wouldn't recommend them. If they can't handle an estimate what else will they drop? read more

When I worked at Home Depot, I often dealt with Austintown Fence. I liked them, so when the time came that I needed a Fence, they were naturally the first ones I called. I had an estimate and the young man who came out to the house was super nice and very professional. The fence was supposed to be part of the deal we are asking for a loan for to cover the buyout of the land contract and cover improvements to our new house. Fast forward. We recently learned from the bank that contractors are paid on completion of the designated jobs, and half up front for materials is not possible. Every contractor I am dealing with was fine with this... except one. Austintown Fence. I talked to a lady on the phone who said they couldn't do this... so I said I'll have to find a new contractor. At that point, she put me on hold and came back saying they could, they just need to know from the bank that the money would be in escrow and earmarked for them. No problem. So at this moment, I am sitting outside Austintown Fence after being told by a young lady inside there is nothing they can do... a week later. I could've found someone to do the job... our entire loan is now on hold again because different people at Austintown Fence tell you different things. I was told that they need the half the money up front to buy materials.... so a fence company that has been in business since 1967 has no supplies on hand to do a simple chain link fence? Seriously? Btw... I already have the fence fabric. Not a good look, Austintown Fence. You were a better company when Ernie was in charge. read more

The fellows who put my fence up were just great. They did a beautiful job. My dogs were the reason for the fence and as much as I didn't want the dogs to interfere with their work the dogs just had to go and see who it was in their yard. The fellows from Austintown Fence were super kind about the dogs being underfoot, and did a beautiful job while even giving my pups some attention. Super job. If I need a fence in the future, I'm going to back to Austintown Fence. Thank you!! read more

Well, I spoke with a representative to schedule an estimate for a chain link fence for the property we've purchased in North Jackson. I explained that we'd be driving from Arizona and would only be in town for 1 week in order to get estimates and have the fence installed prior to our complete move to Ohio. We scheduled for 10am on the Monday after we arrived at 10am. Unfortunately, my phone stayed on AZ time causing the appointment to appear to beat 1pm PST rather than the 10am EST, this caused me to be late for the appointment by about 20 minutes due to a run to the grocery store. When we returned, we did find a notice on our door that we missed the appointment and then realized the time zone issue and immediately called to apologize and reschedule. When I called,the person who answered was pleasant and asked someone (who I can only assume was a manager/owner) about rescheduling. I overheard the response and was a bit taken aback. The person then came back on the phone and said he'd get back to me after a discussion with the other person. I agreed. After waiting about an hour with no return call, I called back to see about rescheduling whereas I was told the discussion hadn't happened yet. After some additional time went by, we went out to explore the area and stumbled across their actual showroom, so I stopped in. Again, I was greeted by a pleasant man and I introduced myself and asked for a status of the rescheduling. He then walked to another room and asked the other person what he should tell me... then silence. After about 10-15 minutes another man came from the room with hands on hips and proceeded to tell me the he was 'doing me a favor with a Monday appointment" because he "doesn't do Monday appointments." I apologized for missing the appointment and explained the confusion, he didn't care and became somewhat rude and combative just repeating how he did me a favor. I asked about rescheduling for another day the same week and he again repeated the he did me a favor already and that he wouldn't be able to get out for an estimate for at least 3 weeks. I declined and told him I was happy for him to be able to turn down an almost guaranteed contract. I ended up getting another quote from a different contractor and awarded them the work. Would I recommend Austintown Fence? Unfortunately, no. The manager's attitude, demeanor, and overall tone was unacceptable, but as poetic justice - he missed out on a 1236 linear chain link fence installation. I did give 2 stars based on the original Monday appointment, without it - 1 star would have been given due to how I was treated. read more

Quick review for this locally owned place for all of your fencing needs...and I don't mean a place to unload your stolen goods :) I visited here yesterday to pick up some hardware and an 8 ft section of fence I needed to replace at my house. I was immediately greeted by a gentleman who took me outside to where the chain link fence was located. I told him what I needed, he cut the fence and brought all of the hardware I needed inside for me. Great service! The section of fence with all of the hardware and tax came to just over $22. So, of course I got yelled at by the wife for putting this fix on the back burner for 3 years (sorry honey). Great place to buy fencing of all types and great service. Also, if you need to rent a Hertz moving truck, they do that too! read more

I came in as a customer needing guidance doing my own fence. The guys at the counter were awesome!! Super friendly, knowledgeable and willing to give advise. They didn't push me to hire them at all, just offered suggestions and instructions on how to do it myself. Plus there's a SWEET little pew pew store in the back! Thank you guys again for everything! Terrible customer service! If I could give them 0 stars I would. I had attempted to rent a budget truck from them on Saturday, I had the truck reserved for 11:30. I was traveling from out-of-town to do a 1-way move and I was unfortunately delayed. I called them to explain the situation and assured them I would be there by 12:30. The guy who answered the phone said "we won't be here, we close at 12." I asked if they could make an exception or if I could make other arrangements to get the truck, he put the phone down to ask the manager who I very clearly heard say "sorry about her luck, we close at 12." I was truly speechless, I can't believe a company would stay in business by treating customers that way. read more

Absolutely terrible service. They did not meet requested and agreed to date. Do not return phone calls and think everything is funny. Needless to say after 1 month of giving my deposit I went in to get it back, was harassed by the staff? I called and talked with the police, after the employees continually tied to get me to fight. I had 2 Budget truck rentals made in error a few days apart. Upon picking up my truck, the man at the desk asked how many trucks I was renting that week. I told him just 1 and that the other reservation was supposed to be cancelled. Apparently he STILL did not cancel the reservation, as they charged me a no call/no show fee of $50 that they can't refund, only Budget's overseas customer service can. No appogy, no acceptance of responsibility, just "oh. Sometimes they don't cancel. Call customer service." On top of that, the tow dolly I picked up was rusted and the straps were cut and then burnt/melted into place, it took us over an hour to fix the straps in order to load my car onto the dolly. Upon returning the truck to another location, the other location owner noted that the truck was filthy and smelled badly. He said he couldn't believe that they would provide a truck in that condition without first cleaning it. Horrible, horrible experience. Will never use Austintown Fence or Budget truck rental again. read more
