My specialist hooked me up with this medical supply co and its been unsatisfactory for nearly a year. CSR never returns phone calls. I called them July 18 2013 for my 6 month replacement device , spoke to Mike in respiratory supplies. He said he would ship out item. July 30 I call back and he says it was shipped , I asked for a tracking number , he doesn't have one wait a few more days. I wait another 10 days still nothing. Call him 2x he never returns calls. I call him again on Aug 23 he said I should have it , if I had why would I be calling you ??? Moron. He says he will file a claim and send another one out ASAP I receive it sept 11 Now mind you they are in the same area as my place of residence , I could've of shipped it via Singapore with a stop in Boston and still get it quicker. I get it and of course it's missing a piece that's vital to make this work properly. I call my favorite person back and he's like I didn't know you wanted this part too. Meanwhile he's laughing on phone to a co worker no I'm not delusional and says I will ship it out to you with a major attitude. . I was tempted to go down and readjust his attitude. Total ass**** I' have heard complaints from other ppl who have used them in regard to him and other employees. Bottom line unless you don't mind waiting till they decide to ship your supplies without a tracking number and rude CSR then this place is for you. read more

I've been with Austin Medical since 2007. Jeanette S. and Sandy M. have done wonders for me, and my care. From dealing with my insurance company, to replacing equipment, to downloads of my data, to conference calls with my Doctors. With all the changes in healthcare and insurance changes in payments, Austin Medical has never left me hanging, or without equipment and supplies. Once, when they weren't taking medicare, and another company in North Carolina sent me my 3 month suppiies. I was sent the wrong supplies 3 times and went back to Austin, and they helped me out. Last week , after my sleep study order was delayed 4 weeks, instead of ASAP within 3 days. My AHI is 36.3 Austin Medical isn't taking Medicare till End of June. My Doctor and another Rep from Baycare were to have everything set up and ready to go in last Friday. I spoke to the Dr office, the Dr. gave me the reps personnel phone number and I called him wed, thurs, and friday. Come Friday NOTHING, NOT A CALL. They all Knew I was leaving for the summer. I was so mad and Aggravated with Baycare and the rep and the Dr. that at 11:30am Friday I called Austin Medical and was there in 10 minutes, and Jeanette and Sandy, both assisted me with a new machine, my new settings, new fitting, new supplies and mask and hose. They worked through their lunch break to make my day. This is before the 3 day holiday weekend. That service and care I have not seen in so long, I can't remember. Thank You. John S. read more

Really awful company. Bad attitudes, toxic, run away. I should have listened to the previously posted reviews.

First of all the city is Clearwater, FL 33765 and not Deluth MN. This provider is HORRIBLE!! Do not return phone calls, does not respond to messages left on line, never a "live" person to answer the phone. I have NEVER had an acceptable experience with these folks. Now I'm looking for another company to provide service to me for my CPAP/BiPAP supplies. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AT THIS LOCATION. read more

Austin Medical has the most helpful & courteous staff! They seem to always call when they say they will, answer any questions or concerns immediately and with obvious knowledge. They also are very prompt with seeing that supplies are delivered in a timely manner. I would recommend this business to family and friends. read more

Simply unresponsive and uncooperative. If you can find another place for your supplies, I highly recommend it. Dealing with Austin Medical is stressful. A promise to return your call within 24 hours is meaningless and I've yet to get a live person for CPAP supplies. If I ask for customer service, they tell me I'll need to leave a message - full mailbox. Just not a professional operation. read more

I concur with others who have written about this company. Their customer service is HORRIBLE!! If you can actually get someone on the phone, they are rude and provide terrible service. Every time I have ordered supplies, I have to call again at least once if not more. They do not return calls. I am switching to a different company and would recommend that you not go to this company. You are better off not to use a CPAP than to go through this stress! read more

So I've been with Austin for about 2 years now. And I am totally unsure what all the fuss is about. Their cpap department has always called me back within 24 hours. Their customer service has always answered at least myself. But the biggest thing to me, they worked with me alot. I'm admittedly a bit of a worry wart. And I ask many many questions to make sure it's working. They also went extremely far to make sure I was happy. Even helping me out with cpap supplies. I was with a different company before them and I recommend Austin to anyone. Great small company. read more

I walked in with my Family. Jeanette was very professional and quick to help. They made a not so nice topic very relaxing. Comforting to know that I can rely on them down the road. Very happy with personalized fitting. read more

Have had machine a year. Unlike Fl Medical Equipment, Austin does not call at all asking about supplies. Person who delivered my new machine was courteous and thorough but did not mention anything about calling for new supplies?? Fl Equipment is still calling me and I have not used their equipment in over a year. Customer service was not fluent in English so I hope to get my order someday?? J.Norton read more

First, let me start by saying that I am a nurse and a large part of my job is helping patients get supplies, equipment and treatment that they need. I have a patient that has a prescription for oxygen therapy to treat/prevent migraine headaches. I contacted her insurance company and got the required authorization and reference number. I then called Austin Medical Equipment and was told that they do carry the concentrator that this patient needs. I spoke with April and gave her the authorization number and also the ICD 9 code. When I told her the reason for the oxygen, ie migraine headaches, she told me that they could not provide the concentrator for that reason. I told her I didn't understand, since I had an authorization from the insurance company, she put me on hold, came back a moment later and reinforced that they could not provide the concentrator. This didn't make sense to me so I asked to speak with a supervisor. That is when things really went south. Sandy ( who identified herself as the owner) came on the line and when I tried to explain that I had all of the necessary numbers so that they would be reimbursed, she told me "we are not providing the concentrator and if you don't like it that is tough shit". I was completely dumbfounded and told her I thought she was being very rude, she again told me "tough shit". Seriously, I was speechless. As consumers we do not need to be treated like this. They provide a service and the total lack of customer care is the most appalling that I have ever seen. I would not use their company if they were giving oxygen away and I hope that anyone who is shopping for the same will look elsewhere. It is time we stood up and demanded to be treated with respect and no longer tolerate this type of behavior. read more

First time CPAP user, I am referred to Austin Medical. I hear from them 2 weeks after my doctors office sent the order marked URGENT! I live in Mulberry an hour and 45 minutes away and because the delivery schedule is not within a day or two I say I'll just come get my machine I'm desperate for sleep. I drive over 3/20/16 and get my machine walked thru the changing filters etc. Well Saturday night the silicone nose piece falls off and while trying to put it back on my finger went straight through the thin bottom piece I have been calling since Monday and emailing not one human has sent a response back! I ended up paying full price through Amazon prime to get it so that I could use my machine, what's the point of having it without the supplies to use it?! So the piece comes through Amazon and I can't get it to stay on as I was not shown that, so thank God for YouTube I now as of today have a working machine! I will be calling my insurance company tomorrow to see if they will let me switch to a company closer to me and I will mail this one back, because I can only imagine when I need supplies the hell I will have to go through to get them! It's not worth it, people do your research with your insurance company to see what other options you have before using Austin! I gave it a star because you have to for leaving any kind of comment! read more

When my BiPap was delivered i wasn't given any information as to how to get more supplies. Finally, i gave them a call. A gentleman answered and told me it was my responsibility to call them when i needed supplies, mind you i'm using the same supplies for more than 2 years, call me stupid. I asked him why his company doesn't call to find out if their clients need anything or if everything is working alright, he told me it wasn't their policy. Boy, their business must be booming if they don't need to increase their sales. Since i was going through a new sleep study i figured i would wait until i found out what i needed in case i needed a new machine. Well, the hose broke on my machine to the mask so i figured now is the time to call for more supplies too. This time i spoke to a woman who explained to me that because it's been so long since they last serviced me i would need a new prescription, no problem i just had a new sleep study, and i'll tape up my hose with duck tape until i get my new hose, mask and other supplies from them which i'm told will only take a few days. Well, it's been two weeks and i haven't received a thing, except maybe spores in my lungs from some rare disease you get from using duck tape on a hose that is supplying your oxygen at night. I called again today to find out where my supplies are and they told me they haven't received a prescription from the doctor. So, stupid me i asked "shouldn't someone have called me to let me know if you're having a problem getting it?" I think if you have a client using the same supplies over 2 years, using duck tape to hold their hose together, which is surely unhealthy, they would consider this client a priority and CALL her. Needless to say i am calling another company to give my business to, right after i change my duck tape to surgical tape, it might be a while. Do yourself a favor and find another company. read more

My insurance company sent me to Austin Medical for my knee scooter. At first I was really nervous after reading the reviews on here about them. I have to say that so far my experience with them has been wonderful. I called Friday to check on the status of my claim and was told that they were still waiting on some information from the insurance company. I was told that I would hear back from at the very latest Monday afternoon. This morning, Monday, Kevin called to let me know that my script was not readable and they had contacted my dr twice with no response. I told Kevin that I had the script in hand and asked if I could just bing it in and pick up my scooter later in the afternoon. I was told that would be no problem at all. When I arrived at Austin Medical this afternoon the knee scooter was ready and waiting for me. The only thing I would have liked, would have been for them to make sure that it was set up correctly for me and to explain how to use it. However, when my husband went back in to ask a question, the gentleman up front came right out and helped explain a few things. Thank you Austin Medical, Kevin and the gentleman up front (sorry, I didn't get your name) for all your help and I am glad I gave you the benefit of the doubt. read more
