I did a lot of research after having a bad experience elsewhere & it was super important to me that the clinic I chose felt safe with individualized care & careful dosing. AKS was exactly that...my only regret is not going sooner. You won't feel like a number or even a patient, you'll feel like a human who is cared about. My 6 sessions along with my integration work have created more healing in my nervous system in 3 weeks than I've managed to do in 3 years. I began suffering from pretty debilitating symptoms of PTSD after working as an ER nurse outside NYC during 2020. And you name it, I've tried it... yoga, Breathwork, meditation, TRE, EMDR, acupuncture, supplements, cold plunging & medication. The list goes on but almost 3 years later (still incorporating all of these tools on a consistent basis) I was still finding myself getting triggered constantly & living in a perpetual state of sleep deprived fog & full body anxiety. Ketamine has changed all of that. I am feeling so great, HAPPY, calm in my body, my sleep has improved dramatically and I feel like I went from existing and surviving to fully living. It feels like my life was in black and white and now it's in color again. If you are suffering from symptoms of anxiety, depression or PTSD, I would tell you not to wait as long as I did & give Ketamine a try with AKS. It'll be the best thing you've ever done for yourself and for all of the people who care about you. Thank you times a million to all the staff at AKS for helping me remember who I am. It has been the most impactful and transformative experience of my life.

I'm now receiving more bills from them, for nothing! I have requested to speak with a manager several times, and the crazy rude woman in the office says she's the manager. I am usually skeptical of therapy & have, in the past, found it unhelpful & patronizing. However, at the recommendation of a friend, I began seeing Mary Rose at Sol Associates a couple years ago & liked her immediately. I ended my therapy about 6-8 months later due to changes in my life that made it difficult for me to come in regularly. About 6 months ago, after my wedding was abruptly called off, I decided it might be time to return to therapy & gave Mary Rose a call, only to find out that she was moving out of state. Fortunately she recommended another therapist at the office & I started seeing Melissa. I have been extremely pleased with Melissa's no-nonsense approach. She tells it like it is & calls me out on my crap. Some people may not like that, but I appreciate the blunt honesty. Also, the therapists at Sol Associates all have sliding scale slots available, which is awesome if you are like me & have no insurance to cover your visits. They are conveniently located in central Austin in nice, home-like office on the corner of Kerbey Lane & 34th. The only drawback is the parking. There is limited space available in their tiny lot & although street parking is available, it can often get crowded... especially during the hours around 8:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m., as it sits adjacent to an elementary school.

I love my therapist as I have always loved her, and though I haven't been to any of their group sessions, I love to check out their board and see what great groups everyone is offering. The front desk is a little inconsistent. Sometimes there is someone there, sometimes there is not. I always feel awkward when coming in. But I am an independent contractor myself and deal with those same struggles in my industry. I know that when you are being attended to by an individual, each person having their own way of practicing and booking appointments, you aren't going to see a lot of those consistent corporate practices, which is also part of its charm.
