Dr. Mohammad Shahbazi at ADC North Austin Medical Center, Internal Medicine and Sleep Medicine, is truly a top-notch doctor. I feel very fortunate and incredibly grateful to have found him. From my very first visit in 2025 through today, I have consistently felt that I am in the hands of a physician who genuinely cares about his patients. Dr. Shahbazi is exceptionally knowledgeable, thorough, attentive, compassionate, and thoughtful in his approach to care. What impresses me most is his wonderful ability to make you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. I have never felt rushed or dismissed, and he consistently went above and beyond. I truly appreciate how patient he was with all my concerns about my sleep and overall health. The entire experience at ADC Clinic has also been excellent. If I could give zero stars, I would. I was referred to Austin Diagnostic Clinic for a neurological exam, and it has been nothing short of a nightmare. My referral was faxed to them three months ago, and despite repeated calls and follow-ups, I have never received a single update, call back, or confirmation that my referral was even processed. This clinic clearly does not care about patients. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic professionalism is astounding. Healthcare should be about compassion and responsiveness--here, you'll only find indifference and incompetence. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere. Austin Diagnostic Clinic has proven to me that they are disorganized, unresponsive, and ultimately dangerous in how little they care about the people who turn to them for help. read more

If you ever need travel vaccines, their travel clinic is amazing. Though I might add, it is hard to get in contact with someone initially but after the appointment is made, you're good. Nurse Christine was very knowledgeable and provides all the information needed for your specific destination. This included vaccines, things to do/not do while traveling, check list of things needed and so on. While it is a lot to remember, she's nice enough to provide hard copies of all of this and place it into it's own folder. While some vaccines are not covered under your insurance, there are some that are and you will learn this at your consultation. She also has a nice drawer full of snacks and water, food is always the way to my heart. They also have travel kits and bug repellent for purchase. Also, please make sure to read your confirmation email in full so you're able to find the travel clinic. The email is very specific given that the clinic is located near St David's and will be hard to find without directions. read more

I got a new primary care physician at Austin Diagnostic Clinic - North Clinic. The doctor was wonderful. Austin Diagnostic Clinic was terrible. I'll focus on ADC. PROBLEM: I spent an hour researching and completing in detail the very long, very detailed new patient online registration (medications and dosages, surgeries and dates, etc.). When I got to the clinic, the front desk person told me that they don't save that information and I needed to enter it all over again on PAPER! So, even though he carried in a computer, my doctor did not have my prior information when he saw me. I had to tell him most of the information for a third time. SOLUTION: ADC needs to fix their new patient registration system so, (1) the information is saved, (2) the doctor can access the information after it is saved. If a patient completed the online patient registration, the front desk person should not burden the patient with a paper version to complete. SIGNAGE: ADC uses three different names for the entrance to the clinic -- South, Main, West). The Web site has a notification to use "Main" but the physical signs show "South." SOLUTION: Change the signs outside and inside the building to consistently show one name. I suggest "South Entrance" because it is already on most of the signs outside and inside the building. Plus, "South Entrance" helps patients figure out which direction to go in the campus to park and find the entrance. So, ADC doctor good. ADC bad. read more

You do not feel warm and fuzzy here. Front desk staff barely helps, and certainly not until you ask. I get very basic services here and wondering if I can go anywhere else.. it's hard to navigate the building, parking is a mess but complimentary valet is nice. Quality of care seems OK but again, I just do my annual checkup here and nothing further. Last time, I felt pressured to do invasive procedures, I declined, but only time will tell if that was a good choice. I prefer lifestyle changes first. read more

I wanted to request a prescription refill from my doctor. After calling the number given for him on the website I was transferred to another number where I waited for more than 30 minutes before finally hanging up without getting to request the refill. These days, most companies give you an estimated wait time and the opportunity to have them call you when someone becomes available. Not at ADC! read more

Awful. I've been seeing my endocrinologist here for a few years and it's the worst place i've ever been. Absolutely no urgency in taking care of patients. Wait times on the phone are seemingly never ending, with nothing but transfers to other lines and people who act like it's their very first day every single time, plus bad attitudes. I was referred to an Endocrinologist here. It was a bad experience all the way around. The notifications didn't mention the specific location of the office (within the larger building, St.David's, a completely different hospital name on the outside). Parking and signage were terrible and there were no parking spots available, so I had to drive around too long to find a spot. Then signs take you to one location for Endocrinology, and once you get there, there are paper signs with poorly written instructions to go to a different wing of the hospital. Additionally, the front desk lady (Alliona, unsure of spelling, an older lady with thin, bleach blond hair) was extremely rude and condescending. Also, of note, the ADC forms make you give blanket consent to be recorded. There was no option to opt out. The front desk staff said it gives all ADC locations the right to record you and that you would have to tell each receptionist/doctor/etc. you don't want to be recorded. They also said they wouldn't write it in the chart that I declined and didn't want to be recorded. Would not recommend. read more

Disappointing and odd new urgent care policy. Was not feeling well and tend to not go to the doctor unless urgent. Call in, give date of birth, and they confirm I'm in the ADC system. "Oh, we can't see you in urgent care because it has been longer than 3 years." Cool, great, I've been healthy until now. I used to see a Dr...Baude? "Oh yes, he is in urgent care actually still all these years later (7+)". "So let me get this straight. I'm a patient in the system, you can see 7+ year history that I've seen the same nurse practitioner, but I have to wait 5 days for family medicine appt. before I can go to urgent care today because ive been healthy for the last 3 years?" Understaffed in terms of doctors, overworked medical staff with poor bedside manner. Not open to constructive criticism. Refused to transfer me to another physician. Seriously messed up on my treatment claiming that my care was transferred to my specialist who by the way only treats diabetes and dies not treat the ailments the doctor claimed That I needed to be on prescribed meds for. I believe that she was just pushing meds on me . Also, the practice has a policy where if you discuss any other issue outside of what your annual or scheduled visit is for, they will charge you a separate visit. read more

Saw internal medicine here twice. I'm required to see this doctor by my insurance, so I cannot see another doctor. The first appointment the doctor walked in and immediately told me they didn't care to do the appointment. The second appointment the practice manger walked in and told me the doctor didn't want to see me and no other doctor wants to see me. This is officially called firing you from the practice or realistically telling you to go kill yourself. So they made me travel across town just so they can tell me to go kill myself for no reason. I'm not sure how you get an appointment at ADC anymore, at least not in pediatrics. If your kid is experiencing an acute issue, no one can see them for a week. If your kid is NOT experiencing an acute issue, but needs follow-up for ongoing issues treated by an outside urgent care, they won't see your kid at all. What's the point of having a pediatrician if the only time they can see your kid is at the well child visit you scheduled a year in advance? After COVID, RSV, and 3 separate rounds of strep throat in the last 5 months and not being able to get a single appointment, either while the kids were sick or in the aftermath, I think we're finally done with ADC. read more

The Wife and I went in for her scheduled OB/GYN annual. We showed up on time for the appointment we'd scheduled on line. We'd received to emails that said, verbatim "Your appointment has been booked." Apparently, however, that's not a "real" appointment per the unhelpful young woman at the front desk. Apparently, regardless of receiving an email saying that "Your appointment has been booked." the appointment isn't actually booked unless you receive a phone call. This isn't documented anywhere or communicated anywhere, you're just supposed to psychically know this information. So, remember, just because you got an email that says "Your appointment has been booked." it really hasn't. Call them. Make them read off all the details of your appointment. Do it repeatedly. The morning of your appointment, call them. Confirm all the details. The Wife an I have zero confidence in this office's ability to actually properly schedule and communicate with patients. After being a patient of 14 years The Wife is exploring alternative providers due to the horrendous scheduling nonsense. read more

Wow, as of this writing the average score is 2.5 stars. Not much of a surprise given my experience. My son was banned for life from being treated by this place because they misdiagnosed him when he was 5 years old. His mom tried to take him there this past week and they would not accept him as a patient. Back in late 2011, he was a patient of Paige Suffredini, MD and he had problems sleeping and waking up in the middle of the night crying and needing to pee. He felt like he couldn't pee and this went on for quite a while. We called and took him in after hours and the person on staff looked at him and couldn't figure out what was wrong. They suggested maybe it was psychological Finally after a visit to Dr. Elena Ruiz of Bee Cave Pediatrics revealed that he was constipated, the solution was easy - more fiber and a laxative and he was fine. I called Dr. Paige Suffredini's office to let them know that they had missed the boat so that they could inform their people. I promptly got a note from them saying they had fired us from their practice. I was stupified! They fired my son because they screwed up the diagnosis? Not only that, they fired him for life! Looking at reviews of Dr Suffredini on the ADC site, she has 3.5 stars but it doesn't appear I can review her there so I guess it has to be here. Be aware that ADC will ban you for life if they make a mistake. Not sure why they would do that but I guess that is how things work. This doctor seemed ok while my son was well and she only had to perform wellness checks on him and give him vaccinations, but when he had a medical problem, things fell apart. In all fairness, she did help him with some bronchitis, flu and respiratory problems. I'm not sure if she was responsible for banning him for life or if it was some jerk of an office manager but it still surprises me and seems a little "off." read more

Getting a flu shot should be a quick and easy process, but not at ADC. I took my 99-year old mother to the Cedar Bend location (north Austin) for a 1:45 pm flu shot appointment (the appt. was for both of us to get our flu shots). We arrived early and had to wait 55 minutes as numerous other patients came and left. After waiting for 30 minutes (and watching a woman scheduled for a 2 pm flu shot come and go) I started asking questions. The person at the desk tried to explain: an appointment time for a flu shot isn't a real appointment time. They just work you in when they can and it depends on who your primary care provider is since it's the your PCP's support staff that provides the shot. Also, she kept saying they are very short-staffed. She apologized and was very nice, but it didn't help. They finally got to us at 2:35. If they are short-staffed and if their flu shot appointment times aren't real appointments, why in the world are they making them? And this is just one more thing on ADC's very long incompetence list. We like the doctors, but the clinic management is horrible. We are done with ADC. read more

I've been trying to schedule endocrinologist for 3 months. every time I call I'm told they can't find the paperwork so I have it sent again. they say they'll call me when they find paperwork. my GP offices showed me the confirmation to the number they game - three times now. These people are incompetent. I'm treating what I believe is neuropathy via internet. for the pancreatitis I went to Mexico and got some antibiotics. I'll try finding someone else. because I got a A1c test online and it's not good. plus my BUN is double - so I'm guessing kidney aren't too happy. do not trust these people. if you can't get an appt by calling the first time, please go elsewhere. don't wait so long that your kidney are now damaged due to lack of care. it takes 3 months to get an endo appt in Austin- I'll try Dallas and Houston. I went in for an annual physical. it was supposed to be covered by by in-network insurance. I'm a male, age 60. The physical should automatically include a digital rectal exam and a PSA test to screen for prostate cancer. The doctor decided not to do either, assuming a referral to a ur instead. didn't ask me my preference. I have a $6000 deductible, so a second visit would have been out of pocket. A month later, i get a balance bill for labs not covered by insurance. The total physical was $438, in network but $112 wasn't covered. So my 8 minutes with the doctor who didn't do the main exam I was worried about was $326. Again, in network, are you kidding me. Now I'm getting harassed by a debt collector for $112. Don't hold your breath, I will never pay. I will never use ADC again. read more

Where do I start to say how little I think of this Clinic and it's doctors. As mentioned in previous reviews, the dollar is all that they are concerned about and all revolves around that premise. For the second time in less than a year when I requested a prescription refill my pharmacy was sent a 30 day (vs 90 day) because I did not meet their 90 self imposed deadline for an appointment...although I have been a patient for over 6 years with Fareen Yusuf. Their need for me to come in to pay them another copay cost me over $180. What else? 1. Drs don't communicate with each other, don't go here counting on consultation approach of your medical needs. 2. Every visit is like a brand new one...so, how long have you been a diabetic?...just 55 years, thanks for asking. 3. They will not respond to your pharmacy, count on doing the extra leg work. You pay off the entire balance that you owe to them and they send you to collections weeks later and then they won't take it out for you and it affects your credit extremely negatively! I had to choose a new endocrinologist when my insurance came so I picked Dr. Lu at ADC. She was great, but I really don't like the way things are run here. The front desk staff are less than friendly, the nurse didn't call my specialty pharmacy when ordering my medication which stuck me with a $1500 bill and the business office staff were extremely rude and totally unhelpful. It has taken me multiple phone calls and hours upon hours to get this bill remedied. Oh, and they also relocated to a new office in a different part of the hospital, but never communicated that. This is a big facility and it makes a difference where you part. Would have loved to have known that before my appt. I will not return to this practice. Keep looking. read more

Seeing a doctor when your child is sick is almost impossible. They DO NOT want to schedule sick visits, and offer ridiculous appointment times - "Your 1 year old has had a fever for four days and is now coughing / wheezing you say? Would you like a nurse to call you back in a day or two? Our first available appointment in-office is in 3 weeks, do you want that?" If you call 10 times, it turns out they will give an appointment the same day, and for some reason we were the only patient in the building when the schedule was supposedly "completely full". The strong feeling we consistently get is "If you are even a little sick, please go straight to our ER!" Prepare for lots of condescension and a feeling like you are bothering them personally by calling. Expect to be overbilled and have to call your insurance company and their billing office multiple times to have them remove the "extra" codes they add. This process requires a 20 minute call and a 15-30 business day review, when you will have to call again. Usually 2-3 months later it is fixed, if you keep calling. My wife and I went in on the same day for 100% preventative health checkup visits, and ADC made the exact same overbilling "mistake" on both of our accounts. Seems very unlikely these are honest mistakes. To fix it, you have to be willing to keep keep calling into their review department every "15-30 business days" for about 2-3 months. This is an okay place for getting basic well-visits, if you are willing to call and fight about your statements or think of the overbilling as a concierge/convenience fee. This place is minimally capable of helping sick patients; strongly not recommended if you have children. read more

I have been a customer for almost 2 decades and service has so deteriorated we finally decided to move on. A couple of things behind our decision - physicians are overworked and cannot simply give you the personal attention that you would possibly expect. Establishing a personal relationship with your primary doctor is impossible - seeing a real doctor is becoming difficult. They push you over to the nurse practitioner every time they can. Including for physicals when symptoms of a potentially undetected condition may difficult to read and would require enhanced knowledge - scheduling is challenging. Recently we have been waiting for over an hour to talk to somebody - Administrative staff is poor. I was offered to take a heart scan as a preventive measure for $99 flat. It goes without saying the bill came in for 600 and nobody took responsibility for the misinformation - Regarding our kids Pediatrician...each time we need to see him we are always assigned to whoever is on shift. - summing it up...you are just another client...actually a client number to bill standardized medical services to....at premium rates No thank you. read more

You can get into a billing nightmare coming here, and I find Heather Farmer, the RN responsible for responding to patients of Dr. Kiran Mechenini to be curt, rude, and unhelpful. Came here recently for women's health. DO NOT SCHEDULE IN THE AM. I made an appointment for 8am and I got a call saying to arrive early. Boy was I wrong. First of all, it was funny to come to a parking lot only to find out there's an access code that was supposed to be sent to me so I can park. Never got it. Had to stop a nurse who was walking on the street. That being said, I was not early. When I finally found the office. It was 8am and the lights were off, door was locked. I waited around and an employee finally came over with her Starbucks and unlocked the door, completely ignoring me. I didn't even say anything cause I was hoping she would address the situation. But nope, didn't say a word to me. I went up to the desk and told her I was supposed to have an appointment now. She said "oh yeah, we don't even get here until 8". Then why would it say to come early to the appointment?? I love how she was late just to get her Starbucks or whatever. She never apologized or addressed anything. And I watched numerous people get called back to the office before me. I waited about 30 minutes just to head back. The actual doctor or nurse was very nice and professional, but I never got any type of call back when my results came in. I also told the receptionist that I was on my cycle and asked if it would be an issue. She told me that she asked the nursing staff, yet they had no recollection of that when I was being seen. We have been to Dr. Kiranmayi Mechineni. She is the physician whom we would never ever visit again. Right from the time when we met her, she treated us like we are some money providing entities for her and nothing else. She was not even ready to ask what is troubling us, we had so many questions, yet we couldn't ask her even a single question as she kept on saying she is busy and another patient needs her attention. She asked us to wait in a room and she kept moving between different rooms. Finally she prescribed few pills and left, without asking if we have any questions. I am DONE with this place. The three docs I had there were perfect. The fourth is the worst. Dr. Chen was an amazing doctor. I don't need the kissy-huggy doctor. I need the sub-five minutes of "This is your problem, go to Walgreens. Bye." Dr. Hewitt is an amazing doctor. Got me healthy in a visit and a surgery. Dr. Boos is great. Got me in and out: no BS. HOWEVER, Dr. Paul Carothers is the worst doctor I have ever had. My first warning sign should have been that he went to a med school in Grenada called St. George's. Some research articles online call those "second chance schools" because the student's scores are low. He absolutely did not listen to me, even as at least four things tested proved I was correct. Instead, he gave me a pamphlet for the Mediterranean diet... twice. If you want medical treatment, go ANYWHERE else. I called to schedule with Dr. Thaera on 6/16 asking about Botox for a neurological condition. I was referred by a provider at Westlake Dermatology whose wife gets treated for a condition by this guy. Garrett took my call and scheduled me and said he'd call me back to confirm. He did not call back that day. He did not call back Wednesday. He did not call back Thursday. He did not call back Friday. On Friday, I called to follow up. I was transferred to a nurse line that hung up on me. Then I called back again and asked to speak to the practice manager because this was absurd and completely ridiculous. I left a message on Friday. She did not call me back Friday. She did not call me back Monday. What is wrong with this practice? Now that I see the reviews on yelp it tells me to avoid this place at all measures! read more

Terrible experience with this office, they have serious issues with unsecured patient health information so much so that my nurse thanked me for printing and bringing my lab work as "they lose records more then other offices", which I would argue is negligence if its such an issue that it is a known fact among staff. I had my records faxed twice and ultimately had to bring in physical copies after they lost both faxes containing lab work. Dr. Ilangovan was good and was able to see me sooner than other practices in town, of course, I understand why that is now. Dingy offices, office admin staff was unwelcoming. I have been attempting to speak with the office manager for days regarding my privacy concerns and have not received a call back. I have never before experienced this level of disregard from a medical practice, or even like a McDonalds frankly. read more
