This is much more for those who are taking their time over decorating their house and want specific vintage pieces. The owner of this shop has clearly chosen each piece with equal care and although the furniture is stacked in quite a haphazard and informal way you can see they're all individual and quality pieces. The low lamp lighting adds to this warm atmosphere and casts a flattering light on the pieces. There seems to be a particular niche for weathered furniture in here, you'll be likely to come across pastel blue chairs with chipped paint and leather trunks with rubbed edges. There are more stylized things on offer too, like old tea tins for quirky storage and old fishing nets for an unusual wall decoration! Everything is imbued with such a history I couldn't help but love this place!

Maybe…read more Anyway, the timber and flooring store isn't huge, so don't come along thinking that it is, because you'll be disappointed. It's a pretty simple store with not a lot of space, but they have jam-packed the space they do have with furniture. And its not the cheap stuff either. If you're wanting to assemble your own furniture, and maybe dont care if it breaks down after a year, try ikea. But if not, and if you live nearby and are scanning the area for that specific piece of furniture, come on in and take a look at whats around at Chris's. You'll probably know within the first few minutes if the place has what you need or not, so stop by. But maybe don't go out of your way to get here.

But when you completely fill them like I do, they tend to buckle and wear out quite easily. So I have begun to invest in proper, quality wood bookscases. Chris's timber furniture offers well sized and good quality stained bookcases and the prices are reasonable, I can pack them full of books and DVDs and they won't buckle. They also sell custom made furniture which would be more expensive and they have really good bedroom storage also reasonably priced, I might go back and get one of those cane basket storage thingies, oh didn't I mention I buy too many clothes too.

It is also right at the top of the shopping strip. In a lower room (just a couple of steps down) is furniture. Good quality lounges, wardrobes, shelves and desks for example. In an ante room was men's and kids clothing, and also women's sleep attire and dresses. Toys were in there as well. A good number of tracks contained the men gear. Denim, trousers, jackets, shirts, tees, ties, belts... There must have been about 100 women's shoes. Half of the main room was also women's shirts only. More space was then dedicated to jackets, costs, tips, belts, scarves, bags and even wedding dresses. Books galore, DVDs, CDs, even Vhs. Vinyl. A back wall houses the house hold items. Everything from dinner sets to decorations. Then there were buckets of bits. For example, one bucket contained button sets (the ones you'd buy at the supermarket). Jewellery as well. I got op shop fatigue in there. Prices were extremely good. I picked up two fashion dresses for $8 a piece.

If after delving into the Caesarstone option you are deterred by some factor - its weight, maybe, or the lead time to get your piece cut and delivered - Moss also stocks a small collection of other furniture, ranging from cheap-and-cheerful plastic to designerware, plus some pretty authentic imitations (though these are sold with the proviso that they do not wear as well as the originals). Some nice indoor and outdoor homeware accessories too, but I think the main drawcard is the Caesarstone.

I recently bought a Caesarstone table with castors from Moss. The table takes about three months to…read morebe made. It is well made and looks lovely however the one error by the manufacturer was in the dimensions. I ordered a 740mm height table and received one that is about 726mm. Given they have to cut legs to put on castors I can understand maybe 0.5cm difference but not almost 1.5cm. The response from the manufacturer to MOSS was that they always make them 730mm. Doesn't seem right to me that you are told they will custom make to the size ordered ( and 740 is the standard height they have) and then the manufacturer just builds to some usual standard they are used to. I raised the issue with them and MOSS did offer to do a new one but given time for completion and a bit of a loss of confidence in the manufacturer given their response have opted to keep table. The table is great apart from the slightly lower height so I would recommend MOSS if you want a nice Ceasarstone piece but make sure you pin them down on the height and get what you ordered. These tables are not cheap.
