So yummy! If you're craving cooking like your mom used to make, this is the place. We ordered the spaghetti, cheeseburger, meatloaf, and smothered pork chops. We had it delivered through Bitesquad and even though they are closed today, when I called the lady said she was happy to make me whatever I wanted:). So sweet! The portions were ENORMOUS. The to go boxes were easily a couple pounds of food each. We will be eating leftovers FOR SURE. Some things needed a touch of salt but this family likes things on the salty side so I believe this was just our personal preference and nothing that wasn't solved with a sprinkle at home. I've now tried Aunties Kitchen twice. I wanted to love it. The first time food was okay...cabbage was delicious but most everything else lacked flavor despite the hot sauce. The macaroni and cheese was crunchy from being old. The collard greens and the yams were decent. Still, I wanted to give it 4 stars for the cabbage alone. Today I returned and was very disappointed. There is a mask ordinance in place to try to stop COVID, but no employees wore masks or gloves and despite the signs, they didn't say anything when a customer entered without a mask. I just ordered take out from this so-called soul food restaurant. The food is HORRIBLE. UE listed the mac/cheese a "popular" item. It is straight TRASH! Soupy and noodles overcooked with bland flavor. My friend okra is burnt! How do you mess up fried okra??? I asked for 2 thighs and a leg and got 2 legs and a thigh. This was one of the times where I wish I wouldn't have ordered my food online. When I went to pick up my order, the food didn't look very appetizing but I stayed optimistic. Unfortunately, it didn't taste very seasoned at all. The yams weren't sweet, the cabbage tasted vinegary, and the Mac and cheese tasted peppery. The food was absolutely horrible. I went yesterday and I got the turkey legs, rice, Mac and cheese and greens and corn bread. " she then proceeded to blame her worker Pearl, saying that the greens were the only thing that wasn't good yesterday and that's it and she's never had a complaint. She takes out 10 dollars and tells me she can give me and my friend back half our money. So I'm like ma'am you're not fully refunding us and she said that's all she could do and to give me another turkey wing. Well i just told me friend let's go, and safe took out 4 more dollars to give us our money back. I'm like maam i didn't come here to upset you, she's still yelling about her worker pearl and how is coming out her check and how pearl direct know what she was doing and it's causing her to lose customers. The food was just ok, but it had way too much salt on everything. The service and quality of customer care leaves alot to be desired. When I go to a restaurant (Mom and Pop or not) I do not want to see anyone working the establishment in a "wifebeater" tshirt. The owner, I am guessing she was the owner had to keep telling the guy the put his shirt on before you serve or take care of the customers. We were there in the restaurant for about 1 1/2 hours and not over ever came over to make sure that we were or if we needed something else! This was not a good look. This is my favorite place to go in tally hands down. Every time I get my haircut at clippers next door, I make my way over to Auntie's.
