Professional scam artist…read more Just about 1 year ago today, my disabled father had to quickly move out of our family home of 25 years so we needed to find an estate liquidator to help sell some of my dad's items since he had a TON of vintage valuable items in our attic. Rusty came over on our last day- I was so emotionally, mentally and physically exhausted that I had my partner at the time take over and work with him. He filled a truck load of things to sell and told my partner that he would get a comprehensive itemized list to him. My partner made the mistake of letting him leave the property without anything official signed- only a small deposit for "good faith". Not ONLY did Rusty NOT provide an official itemized list, he did not follow up with any communication, nor did we get a payout from documented sales made on any items. He sent over $200 eventually with no explanation- to get us off his back I think because my partner kept trying to follow up. The things he took in total were WELL over that value. When asked to return the items since this was going nowhere, he stated that he "generally does not return items". --GREAT, so now my father who doesn't have the mind or health to advocate for himself has been COMPLETELY screwed over. This whole ordeal was unprofessional, lacked due diligence, and care leaving us all feeling taken advantage of and ripped off in the midst of such a vulnerable time for our family. It's only taken me this long to write this review because I have not had the bandwidth to deal with this but this was not okay and people need to know who they are dealing with.

This is an update on this review due to the "answer" they gave as a reason why they turned us away…read more They claim they were letting the home owner in. (And they put "home owner" in all caps. So that tells you the maturity level of the adults running this business.) Those people were not the home owners. They were shoppers, just like us. We actually spoke with them on their way in. Jesus Christ. *** This is an afterthought, so this update is being edited. If you'll look at Lori's responses on each negative review, you'll see that she is always defensive. Which obviously means she is never willing to accepts responsibility for her mistakes, instead placing the blame on others. Maybe this would be a nice business if she'd see a therapist for a while.

I took them to court and won, they appealed and I won again. Ultimately they paid the judgement. It's unfortunate it had to end up this way but it was the ONLY way to hold them accountable. These folks tried it all- lie, deny, pretend it didn't happen, make up crazy scenarios. You name it-they tried it. Nothing worked for them. I was a customer that purchased several times, over the years why would I suddenly come up with a story? It was wild, there are many choices in custom furniture. I believe that anyone reading this should find another place. I stand by my opinion. They constantly put signs out of "store closing" maybe it is a sales tactic because the signs disappear periodically. I hope they do permanent close, they don't do right by their clients by any means. I'm so glad I taught them a lesson. Maybe moving forward they will show more respect and appreciation for their customers who are the ones that keep them in business. Dolores should remember that she only has a business because people choose to spend their hard earned money at her store. In my opinion.....RUN FOR THE HILLS from this terrible owner and subpar "custom" furniture store.

And finding trinkets as gifts made wonderfully, and in a time capsule is always cool. We would've purchased more birdbaths and succulents except I had a dental cleaning approaching, across county line. This location on Lake Sherwood was advertised as being in Westlake Village in LA county. It's ventura county! Even the fire trucks off the fwy off ramp, were yellow Ventura County Firetrucks. Which I found odd bc I'm an LA county girl, raised here since my diaper days and I know LA county as well as my car GPS. Anyway, long story longer, we were charged LA county tax which is 9percent ish. When Ventura county tax is 7.25. Guys when attending estate sales check your zip code and actual county line maps. And charge the accurate tax amount. If we had bought larger items this would have made a huge difference!

She keeps the sales highly-organized so that you can enjoy yourself versus having to scramble or fight with people over items. Big purses are not allowed in the sale, but the kind people who work there will hold onto your bag for you. Otherwise, leave it in the car. :) These are not NOT garage sales, but prices are always very fair (and hot tip -- *sometimes* they go down over the course of the sale!). I've looked up many of the items I've purchased and found that Succor's prices were lower than compatibles on a site like EBay and way less than a speciality shop. Also, if you are looking to have a sale, you can trust Succor with your home.
