We happened upon Lemongrass one disorganised Saturday. We'd called Tamarind to make a reservation, but too late. It was for this reason that we rather reluctantly went for what we imagined to be an inferior substitute - Lemongrass. When we arrived, my mother looked through the window and very nearly turned back. She thought it looked less cosy and friendly then Tamarind. But in we went, and do you know what...? Just as good, and in some ways even better! Food was just as cheap, just as delicious. Staff just as friendly, with great service. And on top of that, the decor is much nicer. That's actually what led the mama to think it wasn't as nice when she peeked through the glass. What I mean is that Tamarind is a fairly shabby little cafe, which somehow makes it seem more friendly. From outside, Lemongrass looked too nice to be cosy, but once we were in there, we realised the place was buzzing and the staff lovely. And you'll find yourself a table much more easily. Not sure why - as far as I can see, there's absolutely no reason why this place shouldn't be all booked up. It's a great little place! The decoration is basic (alot of it seems to be left from the Irish pub that was here before), and it is very much a no frills kind of place, but it is one of the most popular places to eat in Ricky for a reason.
