0n 02-11-2024 I had lunch with 4 people in that restaurant . I ordered the " specialty of the hous " filet mignon for 47€. It was really horrible. Too expensive for a very very bad product. I am from Munich and so I will never visit also the beergarden in summer. Tourists you never should go there, it is a rip-off. The service and the location is good but nothing else. read more

I'm going to review the biergarten, not the actual sit-down restaurant. The Biergarten has food, drinks, and dessert. You go through cafeteria style and ask for what you want. You should try to figure out what you want before getting in line. They don't have that much patience with you when you're deciding on something. The prices are okay. It's not the best prices in the world. But you are in a semi-touristy place in the English Garden. Of course, you're not in a super-touristy place like the Chinese Tower. I actually never been to the Biergarten at the Chinese Tower. When I was renting the bikes in the English Garden, the man advised us to go to Aumeister instead. He said it was more authentic and fewer tourists. He was right. It was a lot more chill here. And there were mostly Germans. I didn't hear anything else other than German. They have good sausages here. I liked their Kasekrainer. Their weisswurst tasted good. Their dumplings were fine. It wasn't the best, but it will satisfy your dumpling cravings. Their Pretzel was okay too. It seemed a bit stale. They also have a trout station, but that wasn't open when I went. :( You can also get chicken wings and a rack of ribs as well. You can pig out all you want at this place. One thing good about this place is that their condiments were free. I was surprised. Other than that, it's a great place. You can relax in the shade. There aren't that many people, and the whole atmosphere is chill. Enjoy your giant, 1 liter stein of beer (you can also get 1/2 liter) and chill with your friends (or alone if you have no friends). read more

Beer gardens and restaurants everywhere! I'm glad we stopped here during our bike ride. There was exciting energy and the weather was fantastic to be sitting outside. They have English menus (and check the pricing, some of the items were different than the Germany ones!) I know a caesar salad seems pretty plain, but it comes with fried turkey which was delicious! The dressing was a bit sweeter than the stuff we have in the US, but overall the quality was very good. read more

A gorgeous biergarten along the Isar Radweg towards Freising. We cycled here from home just to check it out and it is less crowded in comparison to the ones in Englischer Garten (well at least it was when we went there). The service is friendly and there are plenty of food choices. I also like the fact that they have a nice looking dessert counter alongside lots of savory options. The food is typical Bavarian fare and I like the fact that some dishes are also served in small portions in the self service bar, like Obatzda, Frischkase and so on. Like many other biergarten's in Bavaria you can bring your own food and I saw many people there who had brought their own picnic. There are loads of shady areas and a big kids play area as well. If you fancy table service and white table cloths they have a separate section for that too. All in all a pleasant experience, one that I will be happy to repeat anytime :-) read more

Really nice place when wandering through the gardens. It's a little more expensive than neighboring places but much quieter and much better food. The staff tended to leave me hanging but that's also the German way so no biggie. read more

This is a beautiful beer garden located by the river away from the chaos of the city. The walk is scenic and it's a cute little place with good beer. If you're vegetarian then there's not much food to get, but their potatoes are delicious. The beer is great and they have a good selection to choose from. A good getaway within the city. read more

This is one of Munich's classics among the "biergartens", not easy to find for tourists but well known among the locals. Due to its position it's an ideal pit stop during or after a bike trip along the Isar. It's a tad more "refined" than other traditional "biergartens" in that it offers more elaborated food and the 1liter beer jug is not mandatory but you can also have half a litre. Pleasant and peaceful beer garden situated on the northern tip of the English Garden. Lined trees yield lots of shady sitting areas. The food service is relatively fast along with many staffers walking around and ready to take the finished plates and wares. They serve Hofbräu and some 'exotic' cuisine ('Bangkok trifft Bologna' aka Asian stirfry) in addition to the standard German fare. The prices are average for a beer garden, which is still high. Condiments (ketchup, mustard, honey mustard) are free, which is a big plus compared to other BGs that charge 20 cents for a packet of ketchup. read more

The service here was very friendly (which you don't find everywhere) and they do have English speaking attendants. The food was great and the atmosphere very nice. Service was a little slow, but you don't go to a biergarten in to rush a meal so... All of our meals were good. I had the duck, the flavors were great and the duck was prepared well. Naturally, they had some good beers, but they also offered some nice wines. Prices were fair. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Im ruhigeren, bedienten Bereich auf der Hinterseite gibt man sich gerne etwas gehobener, nur leider kann weder Service noch Qualität mit dem gewollten Image standhalten. An einem Sonntag mittag, bei bester Wettervorhersage, haben wir über eine Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet. Zur Krönung kam eine der Vorspeisen nach Minute 20, danach sehr lange nichts. Ärgerlich war, dass Gäste die nach uns kamen und Gerichte hatten, die eindeutig 'a al minute' bereitet werden müssen, vor uns ihr Essen bekamen. Wir dagegen hatten auf jeden Fall 2 Gerichte (Ente mit Knödel und Blaukraut), die jede Gaststätte so oder so schon fast fertig in der Küche haben muss, die lange Wartzeit ist daher noch unverständlicher. Auf zweimalige Nachfrage hin gab es (von verschiedenen Kellnerinnen) jeweils nur kurz und knapp die Aussage, dass es heute länger dauern würde und man 'schauen würde'. Wir bekamen nicht einmal eine Rückmeldung danach, absolut unprofessioneller Service. Nun zum Essen: das Viertel Ente war leider von absolut unterschiedlicher Menge. Eines war ein schönes Stück und kross gebraten, das andere bleich, labbrig und kaum Fleisch. Macht nebeneinander kein gutes Bild! Wenigstens war der Preis angemessen. Als weitere Hauptspeise hatten wir Schweinefilet mit Karotten-Pastinaken-Gemüse. Durschnittlich im Geschmack (sehr dünne Soße, wenig Würze), beim dem Wareineinsatz ist der Preis allredings eine Frechheit. Von den Getränkepreisen ganz zu schweigen. Der Aumeister versucht hier, mit anderen gehobenen, bedienten bayerischen Biergartenlokalen mitzuhalten (Seehaus und ähnliche), hat aber meiner Meinung nach seine Hausaufgaben nicht gemacht. Wer 15 EUR plus für ein Hauptgericht abrufen will (auch Gerichte knapp an die 30 EUR sind auf der Karte), der muss geschmacklich und vom Service her auch etwas bieten. Ansonsten hat man in jeder Augsustiner-Straßengaststätte ein besseres Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Man hat allerdings das Gefühl, dass die doch deutlich ältere Kundschaft hier eine Art Stammlokal hat. Vielleicht schmeckt der Seniorenteller ja besser und Stammkunden werden besser bedient?! Uns zieht es jedenfalls nicht mehr hin read more
