Mark helpfully answered any and all questions I had regarding the buying process and experience and helped explain things to me that were completely foreign to me before looking into my first home. I had heard many negative things about real estate agents in general being pushy and just wanting to get their commissions, but let me tell you that Mark was the exact opposite of this. I am not exaggerating when I say that Mr. Smith looked at 30+ homes with me, and was always happy to do so. Mark will make it his mission to make sure that you find the home of your dreams in your price range. He did not push any houses onto me and always let me make the decisions on my own, offering his opinions on certain matters when asked. He was always informed and had up to date information on all the homes we looked at. Over the course of the several months that I looked at homes with Mark, he was always readily available and a great communicator. When I wanted to make an offer on a house, he did so promptly and had good recommendations on what offers were good and what wasn't, as I had no idea what I was doing. On the rare occasion that Mark was unavailable when I found a home I wanted to look at, he promptly set me up with someone else in his agency to take care of me for that day. This only happened one time in the 30+ homes I looked at. All in all, if you are looking to buy a home, I would not hesitate to recommend Mark Smith to guide you through this process. Not only is Mark an informed and skilled realtor, he is a great person and a fun individual to hang out with while going through this process. I took three bids and went from there. Two things stood out: 1) While AHR's bid was in line with the industry standard, when I mentioned that I was receiving other bids, Chris made a point to tell me that they would match the best offer. None of the other companies made that offer. Sure enough, they price matched with no questions asked. 2) The other offers I received asked for payment by cash or check. Each other bid would accept credit card, but would add a 3% convenience fee for doing so. That seemed kind of tacky considering how much money a mitigation system cost. AHR charges no fee for credit card payments. Beyond that, the appointment for estimate and installation were right on time and the two different company reps were really friendly but professional. No thank you word after we paid the full invoice in advance. The destaging went even worse as they didn't respond on time to come to remove the furniture, and wanted to charge us for extra days of staging (invoice later cancelled, no apology). As we were out of town when they came to destage our house, we found out upon our return that we had several missing objects and a large painting missing! When advised, it took them 5 days to find and bring them back with barely any explanation or apology.
