Have really enjoyed my time at Kroc. The facilities are clean, it's never felt overly crowded,…read moreemployees are welcoming. But, I specifically want to shout out Coach Matt for his swimming instruction. I'm an adult and learned to swim as a child. However, I had some negative experiences with water in later years and wanted to conquer that and learn how to swim laps. Matt has been an amazing teacher; very patient, kind, and explains things in a way that make sense to my brain. It's clear he has a lot of knowledge and his demeanor put me at ease--both to try conquering my apprehensions about swimming and also to ask any question I wanted. I often got to my lessons early and got to see Matt working with other students, both children and adults. It's clear others also appreciate working with him. One mother told me her daughter was afraid to put her head under water before Coach Matt, and we watched as her daughter now leapt into the deep end with a smile on her face! I was only in Augusta for a few months, but if I return, I will definitely be trying to get a few more lessons in with Matt.

So basically I took my kids here to the kroc center today to go swimming. We'll I would like to say…read morethat the vibes n weird actions from the guards today was not cool. One of the guard that look like a Ken barbie doll with his blonde hair was being real petty and a lil racist to me when he kept blowing the whistle at my 10 9 and 8 year old about running which 1 time was true I was there looking right at them but the other 6 7 times he was really being funny and petty because he seen me paying attention to him the whole time. And than he was feeling some type of way because my kids wanted their ball back from a boy who was being a ball hog and not sharing. I feel he had a issue with me n my kids because as I kept looking at him he was staring my daughter them down with a mean mug on his face. My experiences here has really been unsatisfied. I think I'm just going to go with the Family Y and get a membership there. Because the kroc center has been showing me unsatisfied actions and experiences since I became a member there. They need to do better. Also today water was a little okay but majority of the times I went there to swim the water had too much chlorine in it that my eyes were burning everytime water hit my face.

I recently joined this gym(gotta get ready for summer, right?) and I've have enjoyed it so far…read more They have a small indoor track(12 laps = 1 mile) which is perfect for the cooler/rainy days, and also an indoor basketball court, which is well kept. The also have a large indoor pool and also a nice size rehab pool. There offer quite a few classes for people looking to get into all sorts of activities. The staff is friendly and helpful. So far my experience has been a good one, but I do take issue with the basketball court not always being available to people wanting to play. Last time I visited, there appeared to be some recreation or small kids league being played on the the court with a sign saying the court will be unavailable after 4:45 mon - thurs until march 3. If I'm paying the gym membership fee, I believe I should have access to the court during all standard operation hours, especially since they have another court in back that is dedicated to youth. The court is the main reason I signed up at the Y, so not having it available at all times is a gripe for me. They have A TON of cardio equipment here, although I do wish they had a few more machines for weightlifting instead of all the cardio personally, since there is an indoor track here. If you are looking for somewhere to get a great cardio workout, take some classes, go for a swim, and don't mind paying a bit more than other gyms, then this is the place for you as long as you aren't expecting anytime access to the basketball court.
