I recently had the unfortunate experience of being treated by Dr. August, and I feel it's important to share my concerns. As a patient seeking relief from a toothache, I came in hoping for professionalism and expertise--what I received was quite the opposite.
From the moment I stepped into her office, the atmosphere was off-putting. The waiting area was cluttered, and there was a lingering smell of alcohol that made me uneasy. When Dr. August finally called me in, her disheveled appearance and her thick, coke bottle glasses gave me pause; it was clear that she struggled to focus.
During the examination, her hands trembled, and she nearly dropped her tools multiple times. It was disconcerting to watch her squint through her glasses as she attempted to assess my teeth. As she attempted to discuss treatment options, it became clear she had no coherent plan; she mixed up my medical history with another patient's, making me feel like just another number rather than a valued patient.
The procedure itself was a nightmare. I felt significant discomfort, and there were moments when I seriously doubted her competence. Between slurring her words and taking frequent, unnerving breaks, it was evident that her ability to perform was compromised.
When I expressed my concerns, she brushed me off with a dismissive wave and assured me I would be "just fine." I left her office feeling more anxious than when I arrived, with a tooth that still ached.
I truly can't understand how Dr. August remains in practice. A dentist should instill trust and provide comfort, not anxiety and fear. Please, if you value your health, look elsewhere. Choose a dentist who prioritizes their patients and their profession. read more
