great flamenco show, the dancers were impressive. the dancers were Fernando Jimenez and Juana Marquez. The show was followed by a short flamenco tutorial with Fernando and that was fun. I went to another flamenco show with different dancers that wasn't as good and a singer that sounded like she had laryngitis...your experience here depends on who they hired for the day. read more

Fantastico Flamenco!!! My 9 and 11 year old children and I were blown away--at this non-tourist trap flamenco show. The performance was 1 hour and they had our full attention the entire time. Beautiful singing and dancing. Fabulous chemistry between the 4 performers. It is a no nonsense space with fold up chairs and minimal atmosphere--all eyes go to the stage! I was planning on going to La Carboneria, but friends who were staying in a flat down the street from this place, bought our 2 families tickets here and I am so glad they did! read more

We found Alvarez Quintero on TripAdvisor.com and hoofed it over early one evening to score tickets. It's a traditional flamenco show - song, guitar, dance. Small air conditioned venue - 80 seats (?) - with a small stage in what looks to be a converted courtyard, three performers with a different show every night. Show starts 9pm, doors 8:30. Price is 17 euros for an hour performance, and well worth it. The guitarist the night we were there was absolutely incredible, so talented, his fingers were flying over the strings. Our dancer was beautiful, in full costume, and worked up a serious sweat during her numbers. Great show, and easy venue to find just behind the Alcazar Cathedral. Go! read more

Loved the flamenco show here! The guitarist, singer, and dancers were all marvelous. You could really see and feel the passion they had for their performances. The auditorium (room) was small and every seat was a good seat from which to view the show. I was impressed with the energy and how powerful the performance was. Highly highly recommend! read more

This Flemenco show is preformed in a very small and cozy setting, but this does not take away from the performance. If anything, it enhances it. You are closer to the artist and you really feel their passion for their work. The show does not include a drink like other venues but they offer a brief dance course taught by one of the artist at the end of the show. Seating is stadium style and not assigned, get there early for the best views. Highly recommended! read more

This was our second flamenco show in Sevilla and we were blown away by Alvarez Quintero. As everyone mentions, it is a tiny space, and the room is not stadium seating, so if seeing everything is important to you, you will want to show up when the doors open to claim a good seat. One other caveat - the seating is simple folding chairs, nothing fancy and nothing particularly comfortable. If you're not in the front row, it might feel a bit like flying on a transatlantic flight in economy seats, but, fear not! The show is only an hour. And anyway, you won't be thinking about seating once the show starts. By all accounts, the show changes every evening, but every night features a singer, a guitarist, and a dancer (which is about all that you can fit on the tiny Alvarez Quintero stage). And what we saw last night was breathtaking (and, as I mentioned, better than what we had seen before) -- the vocalist had an incredible range, the dancer was so intense, so passionate, and she did something I had never seen before. During the second number, she changed into a grey/blue dress that had a long fish tail, and so the dress, and its tail, literally became part of the dance, almost a prop that she used in different ways throughout the number. read more

This was amazing and authentic. After being sent to Patio Sevillano (aka tourist trap )the day before by the hotel, we found this place by just walking around. It was simple and elegant. There was a guitar player, a singer, and a dancer. What else do you really need? You could really see the passion in their performance. My only comment is I wish the stage were higher so it would have been easier to see the dancer's foot work. Main advice, get there early so you can sit right next to the stage. read more

The show at Auditorio Alvarez Quintero was wonderful! We almost considered not going to a flamenco show while in Seville due to the costs. We stumbled upon this place and it is one of the cheaper shows in Seville. At only 17 euro a person it was well worth it! The guitar player, singer, and flamenco dancer were all wonderful. I highly recommend seeing a show here for a great time and a taste of true Spanish culture! read more
