From start to finish, Jessi, Colin and Max went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of the recording process was seamless and professional. First and foremost, the studio itself was top-notch. They have an amazing amount of options of microphones to choose from, I went with a Sennheiser 416. Additionally, the studio's acoustics were excellent, providing a clean and crisp sound without any unwanted background noise, we used studio A mostly. The entire recording process was enjoyable and stress-free, I was there a lot so that's saying something- Overall I can't recomend them enough. If you're looking for a recording studio that will deliver then make sure you work with them.

Tightrope Recording, and their owner Max, did not live up to their promises. They promised a great…read morerecording and finished mixes for one price of $1500. They did a great job recording, but sent us home with only the rough cut, and no finished mixes. They claimed that it took a lot of effort to set up for a multi-instrument band and they had to bring in extra help, thus extra cost. They had no more money or time to finish the mixes. Max had the audacity to say that each song would be at least another $350 to finish, even though he promised us finished mixes when we spoke on the phone. I feel that this was unscrupulous practice. Make sure you get your promises in writing from Max, or he may just try to swindle you.

When we entered the studio, it had lots of old musical instruments, traditional recording…read moreequipment, and big mixing board. It felt little small capared to the picture on the website. I thought It was just designed to record live bands, it had everything setup for us, from the drums to microphones, chairs, for us. This studio has capacity to record modern music as well as live rock bands. Tony was patient with us. He treated everyone with respect and helped record our song. The end result was better than we expected it to be. We will work with oxide lounge again. Recommended!

I have been using this studio for the past 14 years with both my bands. We just finished recording…read morethe preliminary tracks for our upcoming disc this past weekend. These guys are pros all the way. Our mission was to replicate the Universal Recording Studios in Chicago during the 1950's & 1960's and Maxim/Solid Sound achieved it! The studio is large and comfortable, they have an array of top of the line gear and are very proficient with Protools and modeling software add-ons. Our engineer, Joe, was very open to our ideas and goals, he worked with all that we requested...and there was a lot. If you need to record, you need to be here... It doesn't make sense to try recording yourself at home...let someone else do the engineering, we were able to concentrate on being musicians and creating music.
