The entire front-office experience is outstanding. Jessica is a pleasure to work with; she is incredibly kind and always goes the extra mile to accommodate our scheduling needs. We never have to worry about long waits, as the office is run with impressive efficiency. I want to give a very special mention to Salima Stubbins. She is absolutely amazing--patient, thorough, and genuinely dedicated to her patients. She has an incredible way of attending to every detail and solving any problem with such care that my mother always feels completely at ease. We have so much love for Salima and the way she advocates for her patients. Dr. Gennell Bowen is also a true professional--sweet, attentive, and highly expert in her field. It's rare to find an office where my mother actually looks forward to her appointments just to see the wonderful staff. This team provides the kind of personalized, compassionate care that every family hopes for."

He's using a Bluetooth hearing aid that streams sound directly into his ear. It has a built-in mic to speak! He can answer and hang up the call without touching his phone. And when it needs adjustment, the hearing aid can be adjusted virtually - no more having to take time off work to get a hearing aid adjustment. We could be on vacation anywhere in the world and audiologist Dr. Van Dorn, could make adjustments! She can review a dashboard about his hearing aid to see use (like % of time in noisy environments) and more. Dr. Van Dorn runs a clean, organized office. She has hearing loss and relates to patients as a well-trained physician and as someone who navigated childhood and adulthood with partial hearing. They have a sound-proof room for hearing tests but she also has a host of new-tech dazzlers! My husband's Bluetooth hearing aid is a great example. This technology has been around for a little over a year! The Phonak Audeo M-312 hearing aid phone app lets my husband choose which sounds to focus on. He can listen to only the tv in the room or the people talking, or both. The app has settings for different devices and situations. He can adjust frequency, sound direction or bass/ treble. The hearing aid will adjust in noisy environments but my husband can do it via the app too. The hearing aid is tiny and you could be standing right next to him and not see it. Considering he is deaf in one ear and has partial hearing in his other ear, Hearing Center of Broward is a godsend. And hearing aids have come so far - especially in the hands of Dr. Van Dorn and her team.

I had first met Dr Roche and staff back in 2021 when I first had my hearing tested after covid. I was noticing what my family was saying was indeed true I could not hear . It was much harder to discern what people are saying with masks on so I decided to make an appointment online. The hearing test showed what I had already presumed I had a Clarity loss in both ears . The doctor had recommended hearing aids and even let me wear them in the office and I actually noticed a pretty big difference but was not ready to move forward with hearing aids at the time . My hearing got worse and everyone had told me to go to Costco since the price was so cheap . I did go and I bought a pair about 3 years ago and thought I was hearing relatively well with the hearing aids, but in actuality I was not. Costco was indeed very cheap and I already have a executive membership. Everyone was nice over there but I usually had to wait quite a bit to be seen and when I had problems it was impossible to reach anybody. I came back to Dr Roach hoping that he would be able to help me with a repair on my Jabra hearing aid what she graciously was able to replace the part in the office for me, and he remembered details about me which I was very impressed by. I scheduled a follow-up hearing test, and realize my hearing had gotten worse. I was able to again listen to two different pair of hearing aids in his office the Starkey and pronak hearing aids and they were significantly better but also more expensive what I had from Costco . The main reason that I decided to purchase brand new top of the line hearing aids from this office was because I felt like the service was significantly better and that's what I was paying for . I didn't feel like I was just another person walking in the door to have my hearing aids cleaned I felt like it was a family atmosphere and environment that was unlike any other doctor's office I've ever been to. Yes you will likely be paying more for hearing aids but you will be getting 10 times the amount of attention and service that is impossible to get in any other store or clinic, which is just what I needed . A few days after getting my new hearing aids I had a problem with my phone connection and the young lady at the front desk was able to help me the same day get them reconnected. Everyone that I've encountered at ascent has been first class with customer service and care toward me . I cannot recommend this office highly enough for your hearing aids, you won't be disappointed. -TAJ

I don't understand why they have to have it so cold at all times. My goodness. Scheduling appointments has been a breeze for me. Online or in person is very quick and effortless. My only true hangup has been with the pharmacy and my medications. When prescriptions should be ready for pickup they aren't ready, or they send it to my home when it's supposed to be for window pickup, and don't get me started on the amount of times my meds have been sent to the wrong address completely. The staff have all treated me extremely kindly and with patience. They've been great about explaining things to me to the best of their ability. If there was something they didn't know they'd ask their colleague or try to help me find it on the VA's website. This is a one stop shop for all your medical needs and IF they don't have what you need at this facility you can always pop down to the Miami VA. But, this facility pretty much covers it all to my knowledge. Chiropractic, physical pain management, acupuncture, women's health, vision, psychology/therapy, primary care, dermatology, the list goes on. I will say I it sucks to not be able to see the healthcare team you had prior to entering the VA healthcare system (without you paying for it). You just get a completely new team within the VA. Which they're great, but if you had established healthcare outside the VA it kind of throws a monkey wrench in things. All in all...the VA ain't half bad if you ask me. Just needs a few minor tweaks.
