A very cute bistro type of restaurant with super friendly staff. I wouldn't say it's French food…read morebut good faux European. The setting is very comfortable and friendly. We decided on the menu of the day and among the 4 tried various options from their menu. For starters, we tried the salad, tomato soup, arabian soup and pate. The salad was large with a simple dressing, tomato soup ok, arabian soup disappointing and pate disappointing as well. The arabian soup was bitter, with an uneven use of curry spices. The pate was bland with overwhelming use of peppercorns. For entrees we had the fish and pork dishes. The fish itself was good but there was very very little of the cream sauce (which it needed) and the vegetables and pasta were bland, without sauce or seasonings. The best part of the dinner were the saint-emilion wine and dessert. A fruit compote with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and berries. Still a lovely time with friends.

The experience here was phenomenal. We did not make reservations, but we're able to get a table…read morewithout any issue. We started with the salad (simple but perfect) and the spinach crepe (delicious but too many soft textures for my liking). I got the turkey filet with rose pepper sauce and no exaggeration the sauce was the best I have ever had. It came with success potatoes which was amazing. My partner got the lamb rack and it was delicious also. I got the chocolate mouse (perfect and paired with whipped cream) and my partner got the cream puff (equally incredible). The service was also wonderful.

We were greeted immediately upon entering around 8pm on a Wednesday and though the shopping area around us was deserted, this place was absolutely bustling. Our party of 3 was offered a high top table at the bar as none of the regular tables were available. This suited us perfectly! We were offered English and German menus, which was nice as it's always great fun to attempt to figure out what's what. Our first waiter (perhaps the manager?) was full of personality and took great care to help us pronounce the names of some of the dishes. He also recommended our excellent appetizer! Another waitress took his place later in the meal, so I assume she was on break when we were seated. She also provided super friendly and polite service. I had the roasted goose, and it was simply divine. Beautifully rendered skin, not chewy, tons of flavor. This came with a heaping pile of vinegary red cabbage and kartoffelkloesse (soft potato dumpling, which I actually don't care for that much but these were okay). The fresh Pils on tap (Bitburger, of course) was clean and crisp, and the ambience was cozy and comfortable. Everyone was quite satisfied with their meals, though in classic German style the portions were enormous. The bill came out to about 100€ total for three diners, which felt about right to me. I was super happy with this place!

I'm totally confused on why they are not Michelin rated . For all the silly reviews with low star…read moreratings , come on , there is a McDonald's down the street and that's where you belong. This restaurant is now going to be haunting me in my dreams it was that good . First off, the onion tart is crack. The perfect crust with fluffy eggs and onions and bacon. I would say generally I'm not the biggest fan of quiches, but the onion tart is a must. Then we had the white asparagus special with a soft boiled egg and lentils with the most flavorful dressing ever. I was with my two daughters and wife and we split the onion tart and asparagus special as an appetizer, and literally a fight almost broke out among us. Then we split the steak, pork filet and potato pancakes. Just absolutely delicious. My older daughter does not like salad and she actually couldn't believe she liked the side salad that came with her steak. Not the lame iceberg bagged salad mix you get it some restaurants. This was frise, endive and radicchio in a vinaigrette that was spot on. Best french fries ever as a side on the pork fillet. Incredible home fries as the side on the steak. I wish I would've taken photos to post, but the dishes were getting destroyed as soon as they came out. We had the rhubarb pie as a dessert and Panna cotta. We are coming back tomorrow for lunch and getting the asparagus and tart again. It was that good.

My husband had choucroute garnie and I had chicken with Munster sauce, a very interesting dish. The house wine and cremant were wonderful. We can't say enough about this homey restaurant if a person is looking for nontouristy, local food and vibes.
