Lovely small restaurant and one of my faves in Clermont. Typical local Auvergnate food. I ate here…read moretwice during my stay in Clermont and really truly enjoyed both meals. They were amazing exquisite and food was prepared perfectly. Meal number 1 I was recommended by a dining colleague that to try the terrine. They bring you the whole loaf out with bread and you can sample and eat as much as you so desire. Also served with the terrine are small pickled gherkins pickles and olives. Awesome appetizer. Then I decided to have the Mediterranean seafood salad. Super filling and loaded with Seafood. It was decadent and downright amazing. Meal number 2 Indecided to go with the terrine again and then a steak with blue cheese sauce. They asked how I liked it cooked and my reply was the chefs recommendation. Man.....This was the best steak i had been served while in Clermont (I believe I ate it 3-4 times in a month). Huge serving, juicy and delicious. See folks some guys can eat steak every meal. Im more of a seafood guy so for me to say the steak was amazing really it was superb. The blue cheese sauce on the side was a great add touch. On both visits the restaurant was quite busy and the people working the tables were running everywhere. They looked a bit exhausted and service was a bit slow but this is typically how French restaurants run. See dinner is not a fast meal. It usually takes 2-3 hours. I'm more one who prefers a faster meal. These however are my NA habits. Overall a superb restaurant. Come check it out and hopefully you are not dissapointed.

Dinner here was a strange, wonderful, and terrible experience - at once an episode of Fawlty Towers…read moreand a religious gastronomic experience. Bottom line: service so awful it was difficult to focus on food so wonderful. The evening began with our greeting at the door by Chef and Mrs. Chef (a status we infer primarily by the bickering between the two). After being seated, we waited to be offered a cocktail or wine ... And waited ... And waited. During this time, we watched Mrs. Chef stagger across the room -- she had started her consumption early - to seat a few other guests. Others who had arrived after we did were offered cocktails and given menus. And given different amuses-bouches. Finally, we snagged a passing server who brought menus and the wine list. Then we ordered a bottle of Chablis, a grand cru 2006. Mrs. Chef returned to let me know that they were out of 1er cru (which I had not ordered), but they had a nice 2007 grand cru. Fine, done. Lovely wine, very fairly priced. Food begins to arrive, after significant and seemingly random delays. But oh, what food! Beautifully, and perfectly sautéed grenouilles - a specialty of the restaurant, dripping with garlic and butter and absolutely delicious. Lamb roast with a gorgeous Duxelles-like sauce, perfectly done. And then the cheese cart. The two waitresses confess that Mrs. Chef usually does the cheese, but she is indisposed (little question why) and they don't know which cheese is which. After some guessing, cheese is chosen from a large selection - and wonderful. Finally, a dessert straight from heaven - a citrus tower to raise the dead. And we were out the door for under 190 Euros, perhaps one of the best values. In summary, after ten minutes in this restaurant, we were ready to walk out. I was glad I stayed. It has a raft of regulars who seem to know Chef and Mrs. Chef and who tolerate what is generally very unprofessional and erratic service. The food is worth a try. If Mr. And Mrs. Chef were smart, they would hire somebody to run the front-of-house for them and Chef would return to the kitchen, where he obviously has some skills, instead of spending his time hobnobbing with the guests.

Where do I even begin? This was hands down, without question, the best dining experience I have…read moreever had and likely ever will. I had some last minute unplanned travel changes that landed me in Lyon for a few days. Being the gastronomic capital of France, I wanted to dine at as many Michelin Star restaurants as I could. As fortune would have it, I only had a day or two in advance, so I was only able to reserve a table at one. That meant I had time to visit a little restaurant my friend told me I absolutely HAD to try. I'm so glad I took his advice. Words can't do justice to how truly incredible it was, but I'll do my best to describe my experience... Atmosphere: 5 The restaurant was very nice but not pretentious. The kind of place you could go to dressed up for a very special occasion or dressed casually for a delicious lunch. I was dressed very casually and felt as welcome as the man dressed to the nines a few tables from me. Service: 5 I don't typically write reviews about service because, frankly, I care much more about the food. However, the service here was so above and beyond excellent, I had to include it. My waiter was not only incredibly professional and knowledgeable, but was genuinely kind. I could really tell how much he cared about me and my experience and how passionate he was about the food he was serving. I had similar positive interactions with the rest of the staff as well. In fact, the chef personally reached out to me on Instagram to thank me for mentioning them in my stories. How cool is that?! Food: 5 I honestly don't know how to even put the food into words. It was indescribably delicious. Every aspect of the meal, from start to finish, was absolutely perfect. No exaggeration, my brain released so much dopamine in response to the meal, I legitimately felt high for at least an hour afterwards. I didn't even know food could do that. It was really that good. In conclusion: I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly. It's been over a year since I've been and I still think about it almost daily. I feel no need to return to Lyon except to eat here again. You can bet I'll go well out of my way to return. If you have an opportunity, GO! To the staff, thank you SO much for everything. Dining with you was by far the best part of my trip to France. I can't wait to see you again someday soon!

My mom and i got the three course tasting menu with a wine pairing - I got the octopus and my mom got the quail (you didn't pick the appetizer) for dessert i got the marscapone heart and my mom got the cheese plate. The octopus was FABULOUS - tender but not mushy and full of flavor. The wine pairing was literal perfection - every wine paired flawlessly with the dish I was impressed. Seriously floored by how well all of the flavors went together. The appetizer was some carrot dish that was phenomenal - I'd have no problem getting my veggies in if they were all prepared like this. The quail was also so delicious tender and flavorful. The marscapone heart was lovely as was the cheese plate. I cannot rave about this restaurant enough. Perfect perfect perfect cuisine in a lovely little restaurant with wonderful, welcoming decor. I would come back to Lyon just to eat here. Fabulous. immaculate. wonderful. One of my all time favorite restaurants. I adore this restaurant.
