Villa Diana was absolutely lovely and one of the highlights of our trip. The traditional French manor was renovated into 6 large and comfortable hotel rooms, complete with high ceilings, a comfy large bed, classy bathroom, separate watercloset (toilet), and kitchenette. The management had nice touches, including providing a running map of the area, free wifi, and a much appreciated towel rack warmer. The location was not bad for us (we rented a car), however I'm not so sure if it is convenient if you had to rely on public transportation. It was a bit hard for us to find parking, but we drove into town during rush hour, and later on in the evening, we saw plenty of parking spaces. There is a great little family winery next door and a wonderful bakery kitty-corner from the hotel, selling fresh baked goods and pastries in the morning. Yum! We booked through Booking.com and got the room for €89, which was a steal. I was a bit disappointed we weren't given a room with a huge separate tub, but their shower was fine (hot water and great pressure -- no complaints here). One other thing to note, you have to check into Hotel Diana first in order to get the keys, there is no lobby, not even an info desk at the Villa itself. We only learned of this through a TripAdvisor review; had we not known, it would have been a pain to get to Villa Diana, only to find out that we had to drive back to Hotel Diana to check in and get the keys. That being said, we would definitely stay there again.

The grounds are perfect for walks, easy parking and not too busy. The perfect getaway, they have a pool and spa available as well as restaurant and bar. This hotel I don't think quite reaches the 4 star mark. I'd put it more around the 3. The place…read moreneeds a refurbishment, or an inside paint job and maybe a something done to the bottom floor as it reminded me a bit more of a hostel or high end motel. Our room was down the end on the ground floor near the spa. The smell is very strong of chlorine which is not nice. It's quite busy down that end so if you forget to close both of your doors it's extremely loud early in the morning. The rooms themselves are very breathtakingly pretty with different wall papers, with the bedding to match. The bed is comfortable and you can control the heating in your room. Our room had a little balcony with tables and chairs. The bathrooms are clean but nothing at all special. The toiletry extras are pretty cheap. The location isn't great. You can't walk out and find a bar so unless you want to drink or catch a taxi to Strasbourg (45 euro ish) then you are stuck in the hotel. The bar and restaurant are ok,but again, they need an update. The bar menu is very light on in terms of Alsatian wines but there is lots of whiskey. Breakfast bar is big and plentiful and you can boil your own egg. Very good croissant if you manage to get them straight out of the oven. Staff are hit and miss and its not 'well oiled' when it comes to the restaurant floor staff. There were many, many young children.

This place is really dumpy. The carpets are old and terribly soiled, the kitchenette has a small…read morebar fridge, microwave but no kettle or coffee pot. This is spartan to say the least. The bathroom floor and walls had long black hairs on the floor, there was a seed in the hand towel and a hair in the bed (not a long hair if you get my meaning). The floors and walls are in terrible shape. The sofa is stained. It's just a poorly disguised student residence. Not worth one cent of what we paid - which wasn't much but still. No bedside tables or lamps. Really outdated and dirty.
