On the way to our food tour, my friend was complaining about the wind. I suggested a new ball cap…read moreso we headed to Primark. Super convenient, lots of options, and the low price was a winner. A bit of a queue to check out but the clerk was efficient. I've been to a few Primarks in my travels but not in a few years. This was consistent with my experience - a large department store, lots on display, clear pricing. Overall, a good experience. [Review 1876 of 2024 - 859 in United Kingdom - 22898 overall]

Never been to a Primark before so my review might be alittle one sided. But my husband was telling…read moreme about this place and kept seeing people with their bags around belfast. So when we found it, we made it a point to stop in. Well let's just say our stop in turned into an all out let's buy everything. They have cute kids clothes that are super cheap and good quality. It was nice to see that they had Disney stuff as most places don't and if they do, they charge an arm and a leg. At least in the states. The staff is super helpful and even helped me find sizes. The place was stocked and we'll maintained. Yes they do get alot of customers and so having some mess is going to happen. Even the woman at the cash register was helpful and neatly put the merchandise in the bag. Way different then the service u get in the states.

Asda living is a wee bit different from a normal Asda in that it doesn't actually sell any…read moregroceries. As the name suggests this Asda sells all sorts of homeware and clothing. I have never really been downstairs in this store in the clothes section, what draws me here is the homeware on the second floor. They stock a whole range of electronics including TV's and computer accessories. That's where my interest in this store ends to be honest. It's the kind of place old people come to dander round during the day, it's probably their never ending deals on tea towels and tupperware that attracts the older generation. Come to mention it they also have a large selection of garden gnomes and other clutter. If you're in to that sort of thing Asda Living is right up your street. There's also a wee cafe upstairs, somewhere to stop and have a gossip if you happen to bump in to someone you know. There's good parking at City Side Mall and plenty of ATM's and other discount stores if that floats your boat!

This store always pisses me off. Because every time I go in they never have my size left in…read moreanything, sizes 20, 22, and 24 seem to sell out fast. My mum also bought me a bed cover out of here last year it was a satin like feeling to it and had big red poppy's on it. she put it in the wash and the red in the poppys bled into the white background and the quality of the cover didn't feel great. The cafe up stairs isn't that nice neither. This store sells generally everything any Asda would sell apart from food and drink..

If you're looking for a load of independent businesses then look no further. To be honest I hadn't…read morebeen in Smithfield for year, basically because I had no reason to go in, that was until the opening of Doughzy Donuts in Smithfield. This new store was a little bit out of character for Smithfield which includes an Army & Navy Store, Rug & Carpet Shop, Boxing Supplies outlet and Crafts and Antiques shops. I'm glad I ventured back in here as it really is a blast from the past - it's great for a dander and a general nosey. Some of the shopkeepers have been there for years and could tell you a story or two. With the addition of Doughzy there's now two options for food which is great. There's also a pay and display car park out the back if you're picking up something big! Pop in and pick up a bargain!

Sadly, Smithfield is not one of the more convivial sights of Belfast. It's dreary, rundown and…read moredesolate; a shadow of its former self. Up until its bombing during the Troubles, Smithfield was (apparently, as I wasn't around in those days) hip 'n' happening...the place to be. Dandering into it today, I was greatly saddened by the staid atmosphere and lack of decent shopping units. Whilst it mainly caters for the unusual and downright unconventional, with shops such as Filipino, Caribbean and African food stores, martial arts and boxing equipment, army and navy memorabilia, antique toys being among the more noteworthy, Smithfield leaves a lot to be desired. One of only four or five shoppers, Smithfield was in huge contrast to the rest of a bustling Belfast. Emma (the previous reviewer) is spot on, it really needs a bit of TLC and a new face lift, and maybe then it would attract the same sorts of numbers as the rest of the city centre. Strangely, the car park had one heck of a queue heading into it. There wasn't a space to be seen. Mmm...
