I would not recommend living here.
My family and I have repeatedly brought serious health, safety, and maintenance concerns to management, yet many of these issues remain unresolved. We have reached a point where we no longer feel safe or heard as tenants.
One of our biggest concerns has been the regular smell of marijuana entering our apartment through the ventilation system. We now have an infant daughter and a young son, and it is extremely frustrating to watch our children be exposed to secondhand marijuana smoke inside our own home. Despite reporting the issue multiple times, it continues to occur.
The flooring throughout our unit has been one of the most frustrating experiences. We initially reported that the flooring was separating and creating a tripping hazard. Management inspected the issue and documented that the flooring was fine. Unfortunately, it wasn't until after our son tripped over the raised flooring, fell, and was injured that the concern appeared to receive serious attention.
After the injury, management acknowledged that the flooring needed to be repaired. However, we were informed that the repair would require us to vacate our home for one to two days. At the time, my wife was eight months pregnant, making it extremely difficult and impractical for our family to temporarily relocate. Despite these circumstances, no alternative accommodations, temporary housing assistance, rent concession, or other reasonable solution was offered. As a result, the hazardous flooring remained an ongoing issue and continues to worsen.
We have also experienced plumbing issues. On two separate occasions, the downstairs bathroom flooded with water that appeared to come from the toilet. During one of those incidents, my son walked into the bathroom, slipped on the flooded floor, fell hard, and injured himself. No family should have to worry about their child getting hurt because of hazardous conditions inside their home.
Another major concern involved our air conditioning system. Water leaked from the ceiling and left our upstairs bathroom wet. Maintenance responded and addressed the leak itself, but from what I observed, no drying equipment such as air movers or dehumidifiers was used to properly dry the affected materials afterward. Having previously worked in the emergency water and mold remediation industry, this was very concerning to me because proper drying procedures are critical after a water intrusion. The affected areas appeared to be left wet without professional drying, which raises concerns about the potential for mold growth.
Security has also been a serious issue. Our truck was previously broken into while living here. More recently, my wife and I heard what sounded like someone violently kicking our front door on two separate occasions. When I checked afterward, there were visible shoe prints on the door. The incident left my wife extremely shaken and fearful. She was in tears afterward and repeatedly said she no longer felt safe living here.
The most disappointing part of this experience has been the lack of meaningful action and communication. We have documented issues, provided photographs, sent emails, and asked for help, but too often we felt ignored until a situation escalated.
As tenants who pay rent on time and simply want a safe place to raise our children, this has been an incredibly disappointing experience. No family should have to worry about secondhand smoke, unsafe flooring, flooding, water damage concerns, or security issues while trying to enjoy their home.
I hope management takes these concerns seriously in the future so that other families do not have to experience what we have gone through. read more
