Since when is it acceptable for a company to misrepresent their products on line with the wrong product photograph? Its not! But Attwoolls consider this to be acceptable practice.
I ordered an air mattress from them recently after searching on line for one appropriate for my needs. When i received the mattress it looked nothing like the one shown on their web site, the one i thought i had ordered. An innocent mistake? When i contacted the company they appeared to be aware of the misrepresentation on their web site. Infact they appeared not to be bothered by it.
I was advised, to rectify their mistake by returning the item to them at my own cost. It was necessary for me to emphasis to Attwoolls, that they were totally to blame for this mistake and that i should not be left out of pocket. How many more people have bought this product 'Coleman Durarest single mattress' believing it to a raised version as was indicated on the website? If i had required immediate use of the mattress i may have been forced to use it, settling and putting up with their mistake, with a product i didn't want and didn't order.
Another phone call later Attwoolls agreed to pick the mattress up. This is the only reason i have given them 2 stars. They agreed to exchange the mattress for a cheaper one. One i would have ordered if their website had been correct, and to refund the difference in price. At least i hope when this mattress arrives it is the same as the one depicted. I did eventually get an apology.
I'm sorry but this is to little to late. When an item is bought it is done so in good faith that the item is exactly as described by the retailer. Mistakes happen, but when they do the buyer should not be made to feel that they are in some way to blame and have to justify their actions instead of the retailer accepting their duty of care to the customer.
I can only advise other buyers to beware of this company for shoddy service. read more
