Very friendly and efficient! They took my cat into a private room and gave him his rabies shot! Cyrus was realized to know he was in good hands and It was over!

**UPDATE** to the review below: My husband took Bella to Tufts in Walpole per the rude lady April telling him "take her to Tufts then" when he complained about 55.00 for a recheck after a week that had went by since they saw her. I'm attaching what my husband texted me, in regards to their dermatologist Dr. Abrams (who obviously only deals with skin) says. Paperwork from Tufts attached. The look of Bella's skin can mimic both a yeast and a bacterial infection -so you can't go by the "look" alone. Which this clinic did. The irony is they were told what Tufts did in 2016 and they didn't do any testing. But Tufts did say to differentiate between bacterial and fungal you'd have to do skin testing as she did. Something this place didn't do. She agreed Apoquel or any other anti itch should have been used because she saw irritation from itching but as I noted in my review I told this place on two follow up calls that she was itching. She decided on a shot because Apoquel can have some side effects with platelets the longer it's utilized which I know. I'm not new to this, which is why I stated in my initial review that if you know your own dog, go with your gut instinct. We spent well over 100 here at this clinic for Tufts to see that it indeed got worse because it was bacterial. If your dog has skin conditions- as I stated before - just spend the higher price and go to Tufts because you're going to spend a lot with a regular vet trying to figure it out. Additionally when you write reviews, the owner gets upset and will continually hound you as he did my husband- he called 5 times my husband said to his cell. What does the owner expect when his OWN workers tell you to go to Tufts? Yet they didn't do the work up they were sent in 2016 from Tufts. If you look at the bill today -Tufts charged less for a recheck from our last visit in 2016. They could have easily charged full price because it's been almost 3 years since her last episode, but they didn't.

I took my 14yo Goldendoodle to AVC for an evaluation and potentially treatment for a benign mass on the top of her head as it had started to bleed lightly at random times. Unfortunately, Dr. Siegel still believes there is a pandemic and allows only one person to accompany the dog into the office (mind you nearly every other business in the USA has masks as optional at this time), so we decided my wife would go in. Dr. Siegel decided he would freeze a 15mm spherical mass with an aerosol cryogenic spray... (oh yeah, that was AFTER HE PULLED THE SCAB THAT HAD BUILT UP FROM THE MINOR BLEEDING RIGHT OFF WITHOUT WETTING IT OR ANYTHING.) It doesn't require a degree to realize that this will not work as he intended. As you can plainly see in the images the mass is directly connected to the scalp with a very good blood supply. As would be expected, the spray burned the surface of the mass and cause it to bleed.... profusely.... basically a THIRD DEGREE BURN on my dog's scalp. What it failed to do is burn the tissue deep enough to make a meaningful impact on the amount of living tissue left.... OH YEAH and it provided a lot of trauma and pain for the dog.... for nothing.... no desirable result... and he had the gall to insist it would need MULTIPLE of these treatments! This incident proves to me he is a callous man with limited experience or applicable biometric knowledge. What a qualified veterinarian would have said is: "This mass is too big and your dog is too old and weak (heart issues) for us to do anything with it. I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU LEAVE IT ALONE." Then maybe say something sweet about my dog, charge me $85 for the office visit and we'd have been on our way.... and satisfied... as I trusted him (then). What I ended up with was a dog bleeding from her scalp (see images below) who now needs antibiotics and pain management. It's been 6 hours and it's still bleeding uncontrollably (pics taken at this time). I am VERY disappointed. Though I refused to pay for the "cryo surgery"... it was only out of principle. The money meant nothing. What also hurt is that I lost trust in this man... a man I though was thoughtful and compassionate by the way he has handled previous situations I have brought to him... like euthanizing a previous dog when his pain became unbearable. Now I know your thinking... maybe he was having a bad day or Dr. Siegel was just trying to do the right thing... Well, this seems so basic to me that even I as a non-veterinarian would not have made this mistake... let alone one with 30+ years experience. I also believe that it is always best to take the most conservative approach available when treating living things medically. Though they call it practicing medicine... I do not want be experimented on nor does my dog. And oh yeah - dogs feel pain just like you and I. It should be managed accordingly.

At our first visit, they were great with him and he loved them. When I brought him to get him neutered, they took him and within two and a half hours I already got a call from the doctor saying that it was done and I could pick him up earliest at 12:30. When I picked him up, the vet went over after care procedures and my dog was pretty tired, but now it's the day after his surgery and he's doing great. The morning after his surgery the vet called to check up on him which I thought was so great. There are no hidden fees or anything like that. They are very affordable and upfront with what they are charging you before you get yourself into anything. Overall, this is such a great place. If I could give it six stars, I would. I love how much they love Buddy and are caring for their clients.

I was considering changing my Vet care because of the poor communication, and lack of organization…read more They made the decision for me. When we began seeing Dr. Rosen it was 2 years ago, at the time my pup was brand new and she was having some skin irritation - I also have and had pet insurance at the time. Over a few months it was determined she was having allergies, and was put on Cytopoint. At the time the insurance was covering them but based on something Dr. Rosen wrote within her paperwork deemed the allergies pre-existing and they cancelled the coverage. I asked the Dr. to discuss and help with this because they were not in fact pre-existing since I had just adopted her, but she was no assistance. Each time I saw Dr. Rosen with my dog, there was something new that was amiss, once she referred to my dog was a "6 year old beagle" - (She is not a beagle, and she was 6 months old at that time.) I began to get worried about my dogs care, but then they began employing new doctors at the clinic, so I asked that I swap doctors and actually began getting better care for my animals. Those doctors came and went and unfortunatley Dr. Rosen stayed. 99% of the staff cannot stand this Doctor and when I brought up my concerns they all agreed! A few of them even mentioned that she was so inconsistent they felt she might be on some sort of drugs. She is so all over the place, that I wouldn't dismiss it. I wound up bringing my pup to the Swansea location a couple times because the better doctors were there. My dog has monthly injections so I have brought her back to the vet techs (who've been amazing) they are the only good thing about this place. While I have been thinking about changing Vet's I have honestly been waiting to see if another doctor joins the practice so I could continue her care with them, and see the vet techs there. On Thursday her allergies flared and she'd already had her injection for the month, that same week. I called and asked for their opinion on what I might be able to do to get her some relief and I was told the dr would call me back that day. That never happened. On Friday morning I called in to find out if they had anyone to provide me with advice and was told the dr. put a note in the system that she could come in for a cytopoint injection (which she already had the same week or so, these injections cannot be given sooner than 4 weeks.) I explained that and was VERY frustrated and asked if Dr. Rosen even looked at her records. I was told that they might be able to squeeze her in for a dr. appt. on Friday but I explained I was going to be in work meetings the majoritiy of the day and I wasn't sure if I could get her in, but wanted to find out if I could give her some eye drops or eye wipes... I was told they would call me back. While I was in meetings for over 2 hours the receptionist left a message but by the time I was available after having been pulled into day-long meetings, they were closed. The following morning (Saturday) I bought some eye wipes at Rumford Pets - I popped in to ask if those wipes would be OK (since they are right next door.) The person at the desk didn't realize my dog was a patient and I explained and I was just wondering if these eye wipes were OK, or if they sold anything that would be better. As that happened another person came from the back extremely rude and stated that she called me and left messages and expected a call back before 4 and they couldn't help me. It was so rude, so I tried to explain I was in meetings as I had already told her but she was even more rude, so I left. Now today I get a voice mail that states they are no longer going to be seeing my animal because I am unhappy with their service. To say this is a nightmare is an understatement, but hey they did me the favor I should have done myself a while ago. Please stay away from this clinic, they are unprofessional, disorganized, rude, and condescending. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone that loves their animals!

Dr. Truesdale is fantastic. I've read many of the other reviews, and they did cause me to be a bit…read moretrepidatious about bringing my dog in, but I could NOT have been more impressed. The staff is incredibly friendly, especially Alicia (receptionist) and Crystal (vet tech). And Dr. Truesdale himself...he's a GEM. He put my mind entirely at ease, considering I have a very difficult dog. As soon as Dr. Truesdale entered the exam room, my dog approached him on his own to sniff...very uncharacteristic of my dog who is generally very shy and timid...especially of men. Dr. Truesdale then calmly discussed all of the things they were going to do (he was in for the whole gamete...neuter, exam, shots, grooming, etc.), and finished by describing some drugs/behavior tactics to calm my high strung boy. The whole time, my dog was calm as could be. That told me all I needed to know. He does have a very busy practice, so face-to-face time is limited. I do wish I had been able to speak to him directly following the procedures, but Alicia and Crystal told me everything I needed to know. I am so impressed with the quality of care and the quality of knowledge in this practice. I would recommend them to ANYONE.

Weeks for time sensitive issues and years waits for annuals -when seeing any vet other than truesdale they will not give any decent level of care. My dog had a necrotic ear and chunks were falling off. We were told it's just a cut it will heal in 6 months. Went to another vet practice a few days later they scheduled an emergency surgery saying the necrosis is life threatening and will spread quickly then can enter the brain. They were right and it spread to the other ear. Called to tell Dr truesdale office and they said "ok but since you had the work done at another vet we won't ever know if we were wrong" -seems Dr truesdale just wants to make money on selling sperm of the animals only. I have been asked on every visit if I have through about making my animals reproduce and the value of the animals to sell/the sperm value. -called to say my dog won't eat, vomiting non stop, and has diarrhea. I asked to do an anti nausea med and they said ok we can see you in two weeks...what!? My dog won't eat it will die by then

When we arrived, we were able to park in the lot behind the building, and there is a ramp leading up to the entrance. The waiting room is clean and spacious, with separate spaces for dogs and cats. Animals are required to be leashed or in a carrier. We were treated with kindness by the veterinarian and technicians, and the room we were placed in was also clean. The veterinarian treated our pet very nicely and everything went smoothly. I would recommend this practice to anyone needing end of life care for their pet, and the only reason I am giving them 4 stars rather than 5 is that the cost of this service was much higher than expected. In fact, it would have been less expensive for us to go to a 24 hour emergency veterinary office. Otherwise, the kindness and care we received here was excellent.
