Down and Dirty: Come. Eat. Here! Delicious Food, efficient…read moreservice and fantastic atmosphere! Service: I was visiting for the night and found this spot on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It was just me and my adult daughter and we were sat immediately. It was New Year's day and it was pretty empty but I can't imagine that is normally the case. We ordered waters and was quickly delivered. We love asian and mexican so this place was perfect and we got a little from both menus to share. Within the next 10-15 minutes, our food was delivered too. Food: OMG best sushi ever! We tried the cowboy roll, vicios roll and shrimp tempura roll. Cowboy and Vicios rolls I could eat every day! So fresh and so good. We also ordered the guacamole appetizer. I'm very picky on my guacamole and ofter. Have to add more salt but this was perfect! The chips were light, not greasy and freshly made and warm. It also came with homemade salsa which was also delicious and fresh. Atmosphere: the inside is almost its own selfie place. Bathroom, all of the walls, outside, etc. is so well decorated and cute, I have never taken so many pictures in a bathroom The place is much bigger than it appears. Several sections with multiple bars, pool tables, stage for a live band, plenty of tables for seating. Only thing missing is outdoor seating/options. I live 5 hours away so won't likely be able to visit again any time soon but if I am ever in the area, this will be a stop!

Goat Lips Chew & Brew House feels like the kind of place that was designed after someone said,…read more"What if every room had a different personality and the backyard never ended?" And honestly? The vibe is the star here. This place is wildly eclectic in the best way. A huge outdoor area that feels built for lingering, laughing, and losing track of time, plus a maze of themed rooms inside that make every turn feel like you accidentally walked into a different bar. It's unique, memorable, and exactly the kind of place you want to love before the food even hits the table. The service definitely helped that cause. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant from start to finish. Then the pretzel appetizer arrived and apparently chose violence. The beer cheese sauce had the consistency of warm yellow water and somehow even less personality. The pretzel itself tasted like it had been baptized in butter but still came out bland, which is honestly an achievement. I didn't know something could be both greasy and forgettable, but here we are. Thankfully, I was aggressively encouraged to order the club sandwich. "You HAVE to get it," they said. For once, the hype mostly paid off. The bread was toasted beautifully, full of crunch and flavor, and the sandwich as a whole really worked. Now, the meat? Let's just say it had strong gas station cold-cut energy. Perfectly edible, nothing offensive, but nobody's writing songs about it. That said, the mayo situation deserves its own fan club. There's some kind of mustard-seasoned magic happening in that spread, and it absolutely carries the whole sandwich across the finish line. Honestly, give me that toast cut into strips and a bowl of that sauce, and I'm a happy man. Forget the turkey, let me dip carbs directly into whatever wizardry they whipped up back there. So where does Goat Lips land? A place with a killer atmosphere, great service, one appetizer that should be investigated, and one sandwich condiment worthy of applause. The experience averages out exactly where the stars do: right down the middle. Three stars. Goat Lips is average food wrapped in an unforgettable setting, which somehow makes the whole thing more fun than it probably deserves.

Our first visit did not disappoint. Anne and I were joined for lunch by a friend that we had not seen in close to sixty years. We're here in our hometown for three or four weeks twice a year, spring and fall. And when here we want mullet. Lots of mullet. And The Fishing Hole is one of the restaurants here that delivers the goods. We prefer just mullet with no sides, often accompanied by a dozen oysters on the half shell. The Fishing Hole offers this option. They have here a very nice a la carte menu. The 3 ounces of mullet sells for $5.20 and consists of three nice fillets. Very reasonable! On our friend's recommendation Anne and I shared a bowl of the shrimp and crab chowder. The fish is flavorfully coated and perfectly fried... moist meat that beautifully flakes apart. The creamy chowder is a shrimp and crab lover's dream. We amped up the heat to our taste with a few dashes of Crystal hot sauce. The chowder is definitely a do again dish for us. Our friend ordered the a la carte fried oysters and they looked so good we're returning today to give them a try (along with more mullet, of course). I enjoyed a draft Jai Alai IPA, and as bottles of wine were half price we shared a Gabbiano pinot grigio that proved to be quite nice. A perfect compliment to the fish and chowder. Service was prompt, very cordial and perfectly attentive. Looking forward to a repeat today for lunch.

The atmoshphere The acoustics in the back dining room. I could actually have a conversation even when it was moderately crowded. The Bad: The food is absolutely awful. It's so bad. I'm sorry, I want it to be better but every time we come here no matter what dinner entrée I get, it's gross. I had the grouper piccata and it was inedible. The fish stunk like fish, badly. It was stomach turning. The pasta was no better. Some sort of gross lemon flavoring or something, I'm not sure, but after a couple of bites I couldn't eat another bite. $47 in the garbage. To add insult to injury, the prices are stupid high. They also add some BS 3.5% "operational charge". It's minor compared to the price of the food, but it's just a shameless money grab. I'm beyond tired of businesses using COVID era nonsense as an excuse to completely fleece patrons. The prices don't even remotely reflect the quality of the food or the location or the atmosphere. It's in a liquor store for goodness sake.
