The worst of the worst, they only want your money and the instructors don't care because they just want to get 1500 and they don't teach.

I have flown at multiple flight schools, from a small "mom and pop shop" to the largest nation-wide…read moreschool, and JAXAERO is the best! JAXAERO offers the benefits of a large flight school. This includes a larger fleet of well-equipped and well maintained aircraft, training aids and supplements to guide students along their journey, and a simulator to practice and maintain proficiency. JAXAERO also offers the benefits of a small flight school. The greatest assets that the school has are the people that work and train there. No matter where you are in your aviation journey, no matter your goals or aspirations, you will be treated kindly and cared for at a personal level. Rather than being viewed as a number, like students are at larger flights schools, JAXAERO meets you at your needs and helps you along your aviation journey. Ben and John, who own and manage the company, are present, helpful, and encouraging. The flight instructors go above and beyond what is required to help you succeed. Everyone has gone "out of their way" to help me along my journey. Personal connections with other students can also be made more easily than at a larger school, and you can work and study with students that are in the same phase of training. Finally, JAXAERO is more willing and capable to work with your unique schedule to help you achieve your goals whether your training is a full-time commitment or a part time hobby. I wish that I had found this school sooner, I and would not want to be training anywhere else. Whether you are located in Jacksonville or live many states away, JAXAERO is the best school you are going to find.

I started flying here last year to earn my private pilot license. A few months ago, I was on a solo…read moreflight and had a hard landing that resulted in damage to the plane. It affected my confidence as a pilot and also I had a lot of (unnecessary) financial stress caused by the school and the owner Seth. If you are a new pilot seeking guidance and support, this is not the school to go to! In terms of their actual flight training, I can look back and realize that their instruction was very lackluster. Safety was not a top priority, rather it felt like everyone at the school was there to socialize. Now that I have experience at a new school, I can reflect on policies/procedures that were not implemented at JBA. One of the biggest things being that I didn't have an official personal weather minimums on paper. Frankly, I was a new pilot and didn't know how important this is for solo flights, but JBA instructors failed to teach me this. In fact, the morning before the flight where I had my hard landing, I had texted my instructor expressing concern about the weather/winds and was told I "would be fine". I was also taught to "salvage" my landings when I bounced, and there wasn't a strong emphasis on go arounds. This nonchalant attitude was pretty standard at JBA, which is dangerous when operating an aircraft (especially a student). Additionally, the financial turmoil that JBA and specifically the owner of the school, Seth, caused me was one of the worst parts of this experience. I had the insurance that the school REQUIRED me to have, so I thought that everything would be okay with the school when I had to use said insurance. I was very wrong because Seth came after me personally and sent me a bill for $81,000. He kept calling/texting my personal number even though I made it clear that I wanted everything to be handled with the agent assigned to my case through email. He also kept approaching me at the gym where I regularly go to (and he occasionally goes to) and tried to talk to me about personal matters in a very public setting. Seth's unethical handling of the aircraft damage claim and questionable billing was very disappointing. My conclusion for JBA is that its flight program is severely inadequate and does not promote safety. My experience is proof of that, and Seth's conduct and attitude further confirm my exceedingly low opinion of his operation.

ATP is not worth the time or the money. I was very hopeful to start at the ATP flight school. The…read moreinstructors attitudes were much different during the intro flight rather than actually attending. There's no requirements to get admitted except money and loan approval. However, once you are part of the school, you get treated very badly and one of my instructor have a very discriminatory attitude especially towards me as a women. I have immigrated from a country were all the rules were against me and I was very restricted. But here, in the United States, my instructor told me "Men are Better pilots than women!" or "have you ever realized you've been away from school for awhile and this is not a good program for you" or "you know what? You have language barrier and do not understand me!" I have spent $75 per hour for such discouraging and discriminatory comment during debriefing for 18 hours. There's once again no requirement to join this program, not age neither gender just money and first class medical! nobody would advise you to study ground school before starting the program and most of instructors are unable to teach general fundamentals of flight in the ground you should just look at them and mirror them to learn how to fly! very unprofessional instructors ! they were speaking behind my back while I could hear them from next door classroom. My instructor took me up and keep texting on the phone. They fool you by CFI JOB GUARANTY and airline career pathway while put too much pressure on the CFI s to schedule flights for students to make more money for corporation and CFI's feel frustrated to lose their job every single day! I was hopeful to start at HQ of ATP in jacksonville FL, with in site maintenance However, in 20 days of training, 2 flights were canceled due to the maintenance issues while their advertisements is saying they have New fleets. At least for me as an initial students, the newest plane I had was one from 1974! If you go to any other school with decent instructors and better planes you pay $230 per hour, However, at ATP you pay $350. They ask you to pay for their tuition and some of their unprofessional instructors salary. They have CFI classes every week but most of their instructors do not know anything about teaching skills. The lady who oversees Florida's schools student progress, just showed up after 28 hours to sign me off from program and the whole time I was struggling she was never existed! No ground school for private at all and their online classes on zoom is not productive. there is no consistency and they just want you to wear the uniform and turn the camera on only for FAA purposes! If I had issues in my learning ability, why my instructor took me for 22 hours and nobody overseeing my progress or weaknesses into the program, and not sooner? Overall ATP is not as advertised at least in my location but with many similar experiences I believe it's like this in many places. Save your money and save your time and go to a local school where you are instructed by people who truly care for your success and aren't trying to just use you to fill up their own hours and move on and your money for corporation's profits!
