A few years ago I came here to get my industrial pierced. They double charged me (an extra $60) and blamed my bank. I went to my bank who told me it was the shop's fault. The shop made me wait like two weeks, and the charge didn't clear. I called SEVERAL times trying to get my money back only for nothing to happen. Eventually, they gave me the owner/general manager's number and told me to TEXT HIM AND ASK FOE MY MONEY BACK. Only after a month of back and forth plus texting the GM did I get my money! Also, I had another piercing shop look at my piercing and they told me it was debatable that they should have put it in my ear at all, which they didn't tell me. If you want to fight over and over again to have your stolen money back, shop here. Otherwise, go to avant garde. They have given me several excellent piercings with great service. I avoid this place like the plague now. There's better piercings shops and better tattoo parlors everywhere around here. Just go somewhere else. read more

I went in for four simple lines on my finger. It's now been a few weeks and everything is healed up... and not nicely. One side of the line is precise and thin, the other sides (on all four) are terrible. The ink "bled" under the skin and they look AWFUL. I went to a different shop to ask why this had happened and see if someone else could fix it. They said that she pressed too hard on the right side and that's why they look so terrible. He offered after they heal a little more to go in with a thin line and at least try to even out the thickness, but they just look shitty. The shop was clean and the service was fast, but she charged me $70 for four messed up lines, and I am not happy with the service AT ALL. Now I have to go pay more money to someone more experienced to fix it. read more

Seriously do not ever come here. A girl pierced my cartilage over the summer a few months ago. I developed an angry piercing bump. Went to get it checked out in my college town and the piercer there told me the bump was because it had been pierced at a horrible angle and that she did not use titanium or stainless steel, but a shitty metal you could find at claire's. I had to get the earring removed today and the piercing has to close up. When she took the earring out, a literal CHUNK OF MY EAR came out with it because of how badly the pierce job was. She explained the process prior to the piercing, then walked me through everything as she did it. She was super patient with placement of the piercing, to ensure I was happy with it. My friend and I wanted to get tattoos since we were back in our hometown since college and this was the place we got majority of our tatts from prior to moving. We came early and understood walk ins were welcome but appointments are always better. After briefly speaking to the staff we were told they were booked for the day but the schedule was clear tomorrow (Thursday) all afternoon and to text with our information. We texted about 2-4 hours later with details going over the idea + scheduling and was told that they suddenly were booked for the entire next week. Really awkward how the situation played out. In October I got my nose pierced at Atomic Tattoos East Side Milwaukee Studio 414.289.7777. The girl who pierced me was super rude from the start. Had an attitude, didn't seem to care at all. She didn't show me how to clean it or anything like that and wasn't helpful. Months go on I go in hoping someone else is there to put a hoop in to replace the stud, and she was there and was much more pleasant and changed the jewelry for me no problem. Then, a few weeks go on and it's all infected and disgusting and constantly red. I finally go in today and the guy was like oh yeah it's messed up like she really messed up, but the ring in to low and didn't even push it through all the way so my nose had no time to heal and he had to basically rip it out of my nose which was fantastic. And he was extremely nice and willing to re pierce it since the middle had closed already because of the way she put it in, (not all the way) but it was already bleeding and I didn't want to make it worse. But they charged me $20 to fix their mistake aka legit take out jewelry. The piercers there (besides the guy) are extremely rude and not friendly and honestly a mess. read more

I came a little after 9 for the Friday the 13th promotion and waited outside. We were let in around 10AM. You get a piercing or tattoo that you pick from their flash for $13 plus a $7 tip. You were supposed to fill out the release after you pick your flash. Somehow I ended up being 5th in line to 10th. The guy was pretty rude about it and told me to sit down. So I have no idea where I was in line and sat there. It wasn't as bad as I expected and I was done before 11:45AM. Armando, my artist was very nice and did a great job. The bad reviews must be coming from fake accounts or whiny people. I have never had a bad experience here. Staff members have always been friendly, helpful and professional. This studio is clean. Plenty of street parking. The artists are talented. You can't expect to walk in and be serviced immediately all the time. Make an appointment in advance. Know who you want to see. Even better, know exactly what you want and be open to professional advice. I have gotten a lot of tattoos and piercings at Atomic. Always had an excellent experience. The pricing depends on the size and complexity of the tattoo, in addition to the experience of the artist. Just like a hair salon that has Junior and Master stylists, it's the same thing. You get what you pay for. If you want to pay for a cheaper tattoo elsewhere, go ahead but you probably won't be happy with it. It is worth it to pay for excellent artwork. Researched tattoo/piercing shops for my friend and I to get our helix piercings done, and Atomic Tattoos came up as a top result. I was a little scared because I've only ever gotten my lobes done and with a gun, but as soon as we walked in I liked the vibes. Cool, vibe music was playing and there was. sort of serenity in the shop. We went in around 5:30pm and didn't have to wait at all. My piercer, Nikki, was amazing. After telling her I was nervous she said "we don't say that here, we're just excited" which made me feel much more at ease. I saw everything being taken out of its sterile packaging and felt very comfortable. They offered studs and hoops, and I opted for the stud and was given two size choices. Nikki told us that she used to be a surgical assistant which is great to hear from someone about to stab a needle through your ear. She marked my ear and made sure I was good with the placement before actually piercing it. I felt a tiny pinch when the needle went in but literally didn't feel anything after that, it was pretty much painless!! So far, healing has been good. 100% recommend Nikki and Atomic Tattoos!! read more

He has a great sense of what will look good, gives great advice and suggestions, and is fun and easy to talk to as he is putting needle to skin. The prices seem pretty reasonable too. The shop is clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you walk in with something particular in mind, which you always should, and you are searching for the right artist to do it, they will steer you through the right artist. This is the first tattoo parlor that I have visited & I was very impressed. The tattoo artists have great energy & are very talented. I have two tattoos that were done here at this parlor. I sketch my own tattoo drawings and the artist inked them perfectly on my skin. When I became a little nevous, the artist caringly tried to distract my pain by directing me to watch a movie being shown at the parlor & IT WORKED! I came in on Friday the 13th just to see what kind of designs they had for the 13$ tattoos (7$ tip) and I was surprised to see how great they were! I've wanted a semicolon for a long time and they had two different ones. This was perfect because its such a small tattoo and there are usually 50$ minimums. I don't remember the name of the woman who did my tattoo but she was wonderful! I got it on my wrist so it was pretty painful but she talked to me the whole time and distracted me. Owner Sam Bielinski is ridiculous. We were loyal customers for about 10 years but now very glad to take our money elsewhere. He did a throat tattoo, went to someone else for face tattoos. Booked time for additional work on face and finishing up a sleeve he did. Clearly told him that in the communications exchanged when booking the appointment. Apparently it's so disrespectful to "extend his work" (a throat is not a face - all other artists consider these separate areas) and he decided to wait until the start of the appointment to be a baby about it, despite knowing exactly why the time was being booked and having pictures. Drove 45 minutes, left kids at home, to watch him have a temper tantrum; it would have been comical if it weren't verbally abusive. A little shook to have such an absurd interaction after spending thousands of dollars and skin space with him (thought we were friends) but also very excited to get the rest of my body done by respectful artists that understand and care about body autonomy. Leave your hostility at home dude and enjoy that huge ego of yours. Our advice to you: save your money, time and precious art space; find an artist handling their mental health better and one that will treat you with common decency even if they aren't happy. read more

When I first walked in, I immediately felt a negative vibe. I wanted to talk to someone about doing a tattoo for myself and for another person I was with.. yet they told me that they were "too busy" to talk with me. Not even for a minute. Which I found extremely unprofessional. I understand if there was work going on but I am a potential customer and to just completely blow me off after I drove all the way over to this shop (which is in a very ghetto area by the way) was rude. My sister and I made an appoint with Kate weeks in advance while I was in town from Hawaii. We were going to get a bass/treble clef heart. The appointment was for 11 am today. At 11:10, Sy walks up to the door and asks if we are Kate's appointment. We said yes, and he just walks in with no other conversation. We asked if we could come in and he says yes. With no explanation he asks what we're getting. My sister said she sent Kate what we wanted and he then explains that Kate is in Madison and asked him to do our tattoos. We weren't notified beforehand of this and he offered no explanation until then. He was very rude and told us he would just google what we wanted when my sister offered to send it to him. He asks how large we want it and we said about the size of a half dollar. He prints off a print the size of a quarter of an 8 1/2 x 11 page. LOL I was getting it on the back of my neck and she was getting hers on her forearm below her elbow. So we were like, no... Way smaller. So he copies it the same size and is getting frustrated that we don't want it to be the size of Montana. Finally he says, "you keep saying smaller but you don't understand how tattoos work." I have multiple tattoos, so yes, I do. I said he was condescending and clearly didn't want to do this and he said, "well I would, I'm just saying, it's on you." I asked for the copy he made of my sisters ID and we left. Wtf. Well just get our tattoos in Hawaii. Kate's work is beautiful, but even knowing someone like Sy represents atomic tattoo, I would NEVER send someone their way. read more

This place does not have artists with good customer service. A tattoo is permanent and your artist should work with you. I went in to see Ryan to get a small tattoo and a touch up on another. I wanted the small tattoo in red. He told me that it had to be dark red, which is not true because I've seen many red lined tattoos. It turned out magenta. I can live with it (and obviously I have to), but I WANTED red! The one he then touched up honestly looks like a 4 year old drew it. It was supposed to look like paintbrush strokes originally, but didn't turn out so good. Plus, it was faded from getting it years ago. But he made it look even worse. I trusted him to do a good job, but that was a mistake. I am going to wait till my trusted tattoo artist can fix it in Atlanta. I learned my lesson never to stray from him. My tip to all of you who want a tattoo...if the artist doesn't listen to what you want, go somewhere else. And definitely don't go here! read more
