Kelly was "too busy" attending a window show, Drake would call me back within a week to discuss the repair plan. Nobody did what they said. I was willing to pay them for reinstallation to resolve the problem. I didn't want something for nothing. The condo sold for $40,000 less than the marked price. I'm just letting you, a potential buy to beware of Dovi and empty commitments.

We had…read moreseveral companies come to give us estimates and every one said that the whole door would have to be replaced. We decided to go with Ecoview. We got the estimate and paid the down payment in mid February. They said due to the supply chain issues, it would not be ready for 6-7 weeks. I called 6 weeks later, and they said it would be shipped April 21. I asked how long it would take (was it coming from China???) and they said it would be about a week. I called again around May 1st after I had not heard anything from them. They said the door had just gotten in (I later found out it came from Sarasota not far away) and they scheduled an installation for about 10 days later. The day before the scheduled day, they called and said the installer was not available, so I finally got a date about a week away. So finally, exactly 5 months after my window was shattered and 3 months after I put a down payment for Ecoview, my door was installed. I gathered the installer was a contractor and did not work directly for Ecoview. Due to the settling of my porch, when he removed the old door, a large crack appeared in the paint above the doorframe. The installer did put some stucco in the crack, but we will have to repaint it. Also, due to settling, there were large cracks of daylight showing through between the doorjamb and the floor after the door was installed, more than half an inch. I immediately called the installer back because I was concerned at the first rain, we would get a flood. He used a lot of clear grout to close off the cracks. Exactly one week later, we were unable to open the door. My husband determined that a screw in the doorjamb came loose because it was stripped. After 4 calls to get the installer back (it took that long because apparently Ecoview did not relay our issue to the contractor the first time, then he said he had a large installation to do before Memorial Day, and then he had to cancel because his vehicle was in the shop, he finally came back on June 3 to install sturdy screws that he said would not come out. He said there have been issues with other doors and the screws for the locks. I will say the door itself seems to be quite sturdy and well-made. I don't know if I would use this company again, but after some of the horror stories I've read about other screen and window companies, maybe we didn't have it so bad after all.

I called and at first I asked for storm shutters, however, the man I spoke with thought a high impact window would serve my needs better. Measurements were taken, the permits obtained and the window ordered with an estimate of 2 months, or possibly more, to get the project done. I am so happy to report that exactly 2 months later Jeff and Jay showed up and it was a real pleasure working with them.
