The big Atlantic Homecare store in Blackpool is well worth a visit if you need some hardware for the house or garden. It has a huge stock, everything from floor mops to chain saws, including items such as plants, paints and picture frames. At the moment, there is a large section of Christmas goods on display.
I was in there recently for a lightweight step-ladder. Again, they had a decent selection but no one in the area to help out, though that is common enough in such stores these days. But when I did get someone, he was very helpful indeed and knew his stuff and, again, I'd have to say that is par for the course here.
Staff at the tills, aside from the rare sour face, are usually chatty and efficient and help is always available to get heavy items from the store to your car. And another plus: they give 10 per cent off to Over 60s on Thursdays! read more
