Being an avid cigar lover Atlantic has a lot to offer. I do not have any complaints as far as the sticks I have received. Atlantic has brought price and quality cigars to my neck of the woods, which for me is great. They have a vast selection which meets my still new to the hobby taste. The orders always get fulfilled reasonably fast, they always show up with a Boveda inside. I order two boxes of a quality cigar that I have smoked for years taking advantage of a sale. The draw on the cigars I bought is awful. Nowhere near the quality of the same cigar from a local cigar shop. I wish I had bought one box. You get what you pay for-I should have known better. Update: I bumped to 3 stars. One star is one star too many. Like other posters here the last 5 to 7 boxes of cigars I ordered from Atlantic have all been rolled too tight and/or possibly 2nda 3rds or knockoffs. In any event, most are like trying to smoke a carrot. Out of the 20 cigars in my last (and final order) only 3 were smokeable. That equals $50 per smokeable cigar. This review is related to their online business. After having mostly great experiences, I encountered a bad situation. I ordered a box of El Triundafor Original Lanceros. They are horrible! Really unsmokable - the draw is terrible. A real waste of money. I submitted two unfavorable reviews of this cigar - neither of which was published on Atlantic's website! Thus, I am unable to prevent some other customer's making the same mistake that I made. If they are not going to be honest in the handling of cigar reviews, then don't ask for them. I should have listened to my gut when I saw Red Dot Cohibas advertised at a 1/3 the price anywhere else. I even called the company and talked to someone who set my mind at ease that they were indeed real Cohibas. I ordered 10 Red Dots and they arrived a week later. I placed them in my humidor (to reinvigorate them after their travel) and smoked two with a friend a week later. When I punched mine, it started cracking right away which is a sign of a poorly stored or improperly shipped cigar (it continued to unravel as I tried to smoke it). My friend's cigar couldn't be drawn at all. I've smoked a lot of Red Dots and these tasted like they were old and/or improperly stored. There was no flavor left. Tasted more like a cigarette so after a few puffs, we got different cigars (not from Atlantic Cigar) and enjoyed them immensely. When I complained about the cigars, I was refunded for only for 8 of the 10. So... only 8 of the 10 cigars you sent me were bad. How was I supposed to try them out. I also received the following correspondence from them which alerted to me about how they treat their customers: "The cigars you purchased were not fake. To even question the possibility that we sell fake cigars is insulting. We have been in business since 1996 and our reputation within the cigar industry is well known. These cigars are 100% real Cohiba Red Dot Robustos. We get these cigars directly from General Cigar Co. who makes these cigars in the Dominican Republic. Unless you are thinking these are Cuban cigars? Cuban cigars can not be purchased or sold in the United States. Maybe this is where the misunderstanding is coming from. Our cigars are kept in out 7,000 sqft humidor that is properly air conditioned and humidified. The cigars you purchased were even sent with a complimentary humidification pack. So to say improperly stored is also false. Could the transit time affected the flavor profile, possibly. Cigars that are sent through the mail, especially in summer months, need to acclimate to proper temperature and humidity before smoking. Cigars should rest in your seasoned humidor for at the least 2-3 days before enjoyment. Here is our correspondence from 8/4. We offered to take back the unsmoked cigars, no questions asked. We paid for the return shipping. Sorry to see that you did not enjoy these cigars. Everyone has different standards and flavor profiles and it sounds like these cigars did not work out for you. With cigars there are many options out there to try. Maybe you should look into smoking something more boutique. We have issued you a refund for the returned cigars as discussed." If this company berates their customers like this, you should beware of them. I started ordering cigars from Atlantic earlier this year after doing a search for one of my preferred brands and found them on Atlantic for the best price I could find. I ordered them and found they were in great. I was a little skeptical because the price was so good so I reordered them a few times and the quality and taste was the same so I've been a fan ever since. I recently reached out to Atlantic to see if I could get free shipping on one of my orders because I was ordering them every month and it's been a little harder to justify ordering cigars recently. And they gave me the credit and had them shipped out the same day. Couldn't really ask too much more. I order all of my cigars online from very well known places which I'm sure if you're a cigar smoker you'll know and have done business with them for many many years. And I have nothing against any of them. But for the same quality, much better price, and top notch service, I have no hesitation recommending Atlantic Cigar. I just got off the phone with a customer service representative, a manager, and then the owner sharing my concerns about my shipment of cigars being delivered to a storage locker at temperatures between 110 - 115 deg F, here in Phoenix. There are no shipping/storage instructions on the labeling. We were out of town and they were stored in the locker for 5 days. Knowing temperatures at that level will damage the cigar, I was asking to return/replace the shipment. I was told not only would I have to pay to have them returned but also for the replacement shipment. This is not customer service. Neither the manager nor the owner were willing to help in any way. I ordered a box of cigars then the same night I looked online it seemed that they had an online special 20% off your order. I called the next day and asked them about the special they said it was a real special. So I asked them to refund me the difference. Most companies I've bought from have refunded me the difference. Not Atlantic! they argued with me on why they couldn't refund me the difference. I paid for priority mail with my order as well I checked they're website two days later they still had not sent my order out. priority mail should be 3 days! not with these guys. You can't walk in there and buy a cigar you have to go on their website or call in. First I want to give a thumbs up on the prices, very reasonable. Second I am giving a thumbs down to their website and customer service. I placed an order for cigars on this past Friday, when I went to pay, it came up as zero dollars for the cigars and $7.20 for shipping. After paying for shipping, i received, not one but two emails, one stating my order number and confirmation of my order and the second email (today) stating my order was shipped. Shortly afterwards I received a voicemail stating there was an error on the website and they will refund the shipping charge. Now at this point it's not about the cigars but about their business practice. Glitches has never been a customer's problem, it's yours. I have never experienced a company not honoring their prices shown on their website.. ex there was glitch on hotel website that stated rooms were $25 a night (which they went for about $100) you know what they did??? Good reviews, good selection, good price. I created an account and placed my order. Within an hour, I received an email that there was a problem with my credit card. Not Atlantic's fault, I've had issues before with this card on some websites. I unfortunately wasn't able to complete the order, I ended up having to get my sticks from a different online vendor that accepted PayPal. Atlantic cancelled the pending order promptly, friendly and without trying to use pushy sales tactics. KUDOS to this company. Don't bother buying from Australia. They advised me to put in a smaller order after my first order was picked up at customs, telling me smaller parcels are more likely to get through. Then they sent the order in a large box anyway which was picked up at customs again. Afterwards they told me they don't stock smaller parcel boxes. They also told me the success rate of getting through Australian customs is about 80-85%, a complete lie from my experience of 0%. Don't trust them, they don't care about their customers. read more
