EXCELLENT SERVICE! I walked in and was greeted with a warm welcome. I asked for help to find a "good cigar" and was given the best service. He helped me find cigars in my price range and that were very great in quality. I was also shown the lounge area, and told I could come anytime to smoke a cigar and socialize; no VIP membership needed. This is definitely where I want to get my cigars in the future! I went to J&M about a year ago for the first time. I have to say every time I have been in there with maybe the exception of 1 time the service has been very friendly. I like the laid back atmosphere of the place and I really like that they don't Hoover around you in the humidor while you are making your selections like some other shops do, surefire way to make me feel uncomfortable and spend less money. I like to take my time and walk around and look,it is like my candy store lol! They will answer any questions you have and are very knowledgable. They have a great selection of cigars and their prices are better than the other local shops and their box prices compete with, if not beat the Internet stores! The employee asked a few questions to try to best determine my needs and then made three suggestions. He explained the differences with patience and answered all of my questions in a way that I could understand the details without "talking down" to me. Horrible. Rude. Creepy owner. I go in occasionally to buy cigars for my husband. Since I know nothing about them I rely on the owner's knowledge and recommendation. It's always a painful experience having to deal with this weirdo but this time was ridiculous! As I'm walking up to the door he says something to the 3 guys leering at me thru the window where they're sitting at a counter smoking cigars and they all laugh. I decide to keep going anyway, need to check cigars off my list, so I walk in and he says something else just before I open the door so that when I walk in they're all laughing and staring at me. Seriously?? And he's got his usual creepy grin on his face and saunters over behind the counter like the last thing he wants to do is help me. Decided it wasn't worth it. Could not give this asshat my money. Turned around and left. Told my husband I just couldn't go in there anymore and he said, I stopped going in there a long time ago! That guy's a d*ck! I order online now. Especially if you're a woman, stay away!!! Interesting how this place hasn't had a review in over a year, and most are several years old, yet suddenly it get two 5-star reviews immediately after mine, and both posted on the same day no less. Decent cigar selection dramatically offset by rude, insulting, not-at-all-helpful owner who talks to you like you're a moron or a second-class citizen. Asked for assistance and he brushed me aside with his hands without request or eye contact. When I got assistance he wasn't helpful, was incredibly insulting, and only cared about his friends in the shop at the time. It wasn't until he could tell I was pissed off that he started attempting to treat me the way a new customer deserves to be treated. Can't believe the other two reviewers' opinions about service - but to each their own. Not a good way to run a small business, do yourself a favor and go out of your way to shop elsewhere unless you can get what you want without any help from the owner. read more

Great place to shop! Been going there about 3 years. Mike and Jeff are very knowledgable and honest. Excellent selection. Always something new. When they know what you like, their guidance is excellent. They don't push the higher priced products. Sometimes they will suggest a lower priced cigar, that they think you'll like it.
