The debark experience was not nearly of that same quality and could only be described as Average at best. We were the only ship there for the day, and it was still quite disorganized. Folks...when you are standing in a security line and you know you have to take off your shoes, belt, take things out of your pockets, etc. and take out electronics...why don't you just do it? Why wait on the TSA folks to tell you? They are doing the best they can by basically herding folks through there while thoroughly checking every bag and every person for our safety as a whole. This is not a game...help the process! For extra entertainment, two people in front of us took off their shoes just before the conveyor and then put their items on the conveyor and just walked away to go through the screening. Hello!...what about your crap? Their shoes became a tripping hazard for everyone behind them and finally got kicked out of the way. They didn't push forward their bags and personal items...what the heck? Then TSA is trying to figure out whose bags and shoes they belong to. They come back with the attitude that someone else should have taken care of it. Huh? Who?...Me?...My kid?...I don't think so! We don't touch other people's personal items. Just my opinion, but when you pull crap like this...I wish, I wish, I wish TSA would pull those folks aside and make them wait to re-enter the queue. I realize we all may forget things in the madness, but you can tell the difference between folks that forget and those that just expect someone else to do it for them. But wait, doesn't stop there...on the other side...they stood in front of the conveyor to take their do-da time putting things back in their bags while the trays are backing up...and they just stood there...why? Waiting on the dang shoes they left behind! Boo! They wouldn't move or get out of the way, not even with a polite "excuse me" to let other folks get their things, which makes you have to push through to get your belongings. UGH! A few TSA folks were overseeing things and I know they are busy watching, but a simple "move to the side" that takes a second or two could have moved things along quicker and would have been awesome to help fellow passengers. Aside from this...it's like a well-oiled machine. A bit of advice I have for every traveler is to talk to the TSA folks. They are doing a thankless job by choice to ensure the safety of all of us. It's an important job! A simple "hello" or "how are you?" goes a long way. I agree that in some places in the USA they could definitely be friendlier and often on a power trip, but this is not one of those places, or at least not on the day we went through. The folks here were friendly and just trying to get you where you are going or need to be.

Anyway, I absolutely love this structure and the way the terminal was brought back to glory. The architecture and interior design are simply brilliant. Love the bar/restaurant, lounge, gift shop, Photo Booth!!!, historical uniform display, hair salon replica, offices replicas, tons of cool and vintage seating areas to stretch out and relax. Let's not forget taking a swim in the rooftop pool or having a cocktail in the Connie. To me, the flight center is pure perfection.

The Trans World Airline (TWA) Flight Center was designed by architect Eero Saarinen and it was…read moredescribed as being similar to a "Leonardo da Vinci flying machine". It was completed in 1962 and open for business. The original head house (aka: terminal building), operated as a functioning terminal until 2001. The exterior of the building, along with the interior, of the head house were declared landmarks in 1994. Moreover, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. Today it is part of the TWA hotel complex, but anyone can visit the flight center, lounges, gift shop, food court, and museum area. In addition to the original building, it has been partially surrounded by additional hotel buildings. Inside, the former terminal has been restored to its former glory. You can see the open three-level tall windows with amazing views of departing and arriving jets in the sunken lounge area. There are the tube-shaped, red-carpeted departure/arrival corridors that now lead to rooms in the hotel, but used to connect the gates. Now various places in the head house and flight center are museum-type displays for the former airline. It is a very interesting place for anyone to check out the displays and read about the history of TWA. Moreover, there are additional items to check out like the old cars and the huge Twister game. Whether you stay at the hotel or just need a few hours to kill on your layover...this is "something to do". Personal Note: I thoroughly enjoyed seeing everything in the flight center. It brought back so many wonderful memories. When I was a little girl, my family and I used to look forward to flying in and out of here back when my dad worked for the airlines. We loved this airport and mainly because of this terminal...it was fun and different. With the way they have restored it, it almost seems like I entered a time machine to another time. Moving on to the deets (do people still say that), this terminal opened in 1939, it's construction championed by former NYC mayor Fiorello La Guardia, a former major and pilot in the United States Signal Corps aviation division during WWI. At that time it was the largest worldwide and costliest airport ($40million) and was dedicated as the Pan-American terminal for transatlantic flights in 1940. It's success as a hub during the "Golden Age of the Flying Boat" during the 1940s was partially due to it's position close to open water, from which it was thought would be safer for sea planes to land with passengers, even though initially most transatlantic flights early on in aviation history were made aboard land planes. With technology advancements during WWII, these "clipper" sea planes became obsolete. The terminal was designed by William Delano and Chester Aldrich in an Art Deco style, most clearly seen in the ornamental details in the exterior raised reliefs, and wall murals contrasted with black marble used in the main circular core. It's the last remaining terminal in the US still in use from that era of early aviation development. Although the wings of the terminal have recently been renovated to match more of the modern aesthetic that La Guardia terminals B, C and D are following, the amount of traffic necessitates a very crowded waiting area, so much that the couple times I've flown out of there in the past year it's felt a) claustrophobic, b) a potential fire hazard. Also the cleanliness of the carpet and seats are rather questionable, which is ironic and unfortunate because this terminal in its heyday was the seat of luxury departures overseas. As for current amenities there is an Italian restaurant, a couple convenience store areas, and a Dunkin Donuts. Bathrooms and drinking water are available. Security lines are usually fairly quick considering the smaller size of the terminal. Rideshare and taxis have designated zones for pick up and drop off outside. Parking and rental cars are further away especially due to ongoing construction, though there are free shuttles that loop around periodically.

It took calls to three other companies before I finally found NY LIMO and felt comfortable that they would 1) show up and 2)provide a clean and safe environment. Janet, the ride coordinator, was incredibly helpful and assured me that each of their drivers carefully disinfect the seats before and after each ride and that they were not doing local rides (as in to clinics/hospitals) but just airport runs as they usually do. They also left disinfectant in the rear seats for additional sprays/wipes. The company was also only running long SUVS so that clients could put 6 feet of distance between the driver and themselves. Janet even added in a couple of extra latex gloves for the air journey and some good advice on how to keep protected during the trip. When flights were cancelled just the day before, they were able to switch up the pick up time to a full day earlier with just 90 minutes notice. New York Limo wasn't inexpensive, but it was worth every dollar to have the peace of mind and a very professional limo service!

Review of our recent Rides, Sep 28th, 2021:…read more Considering the very positive service we received during our last booking with Air Express Limo, I decided to continue to book with them for our most recent trip into New York City for the purposes of dinner and a broadway show. With the reopening of Broadway, Moulin Rouge will be the first show to be seen. My plans included arriving at Oceana Restaurant by 5:00 PM to ensure we had more than sufficient time to dine and still be able to walk to the theatre by 6:45PM. Our driver, Awan, once again, was able to get us into the city in record time as traffic was very light. In fact, we arrived quite earlier than expected. I then requested that we be brought to The Glass Door Tavern, some two blocks away from Oceana since it was not yet time for our reservation. Awan understood our plan and brought us to the front door of the tavern by 4:00PM. We left within the hour and walked to Oceana Restaurant for dinner. Moulin Rouge was a magnificent show and ended approximately 9:45PM. While making pickup plans after the theatre, I had asked that Awan meet us at 10:00PM at an adjacent corner to the theatre in order for him to avoid all of the vehicular and pedestrian traffic. While walking to that corner, Awan called to alert us that he was already in the area. We then gave Awan our location and within 5 minutes we spotted him at the intersection he asked us to wait at. We entered the Lincoln MKS/XTS Sedan and were on our way back home to NJ. Again, communication is of utmost importance to us when booking a ride. It was now 10:15PM in the city with both pedestrian and vehicular congestion to contend with. However, once again, Awan demonstrated a high degree of patience, driving skills, and understanding during our pickup and drop-off requests resulting in an enjoyable evening. The driver's door actually didn't close properly so it was like driving with a window cracked open. Be aware there is no room for luggage especially when you come home with full bags that are placed on the laps of passengers creating dangerous projectiles in the cabin. The owner Matt should reconsider his and the business's priorities as it's clear they don't care what type of service they provide only how much money he can make. Matt needs to read what is currently advertised on the website and deliver this or change the description of the booking so to stop falsely advertising a service. I have personally spoken to the Woodbury Common marketing department in removing them as a promoted partner. I feel sorry for the drivery who are witnessing first hand the shock and horror of each passenger as they see the dodgy van pull up.
