Amazing contractor experiences can happen in Cumming, Georgia!…read moreOur family is new to the south coming from the northeast, and we've had a series of bad experiences with contractors not answering phones, not getting estimates out to us, leaving the jobs early randomly. It was frustrating. But this was a refreshing experience! They picked up the phone almost instantly and the person I talked to knew all about crawlspaces and mold and the encapsulation process. They were able to schedule us for a next day appointment and then their inspector called us later that day to confirm what was going on and that the time worked for us. Professional! At the inspection, a lot of time was spent educating us on the dangers of moisture in the crawlspace and how mold grows down there and eventually gets into our living space which is not so cool for our kiddos! I also learned more about how water moves and air circulates in a home than I ever thought there was to it, but I feel knowledgeable now. Our project included an encapsulation, dehumidification, controlling the water intrusion, and we opted to fog the mold with a safe hydrogen peroxide solution. All that for under $20,000. We of course had our space encapsulated and I'm thoroughly impressed with the crews attention to detail. It speaks volumes to me that their project manager Nate asked me to do a "crawl through" to verify their work instead of assuming nobody ever goes down there and feeling free to do sloppy work. Not so! These guys are excellent, each corner and seam tape and sight lines of their vapor barriers were meticulously in order. They showed me how to check on the dehumidifier and sump pump. I had a great experience and wanted to encourage this so if others in the Cumming area are feeling my frustration, know that you'll be in good hands!

This is an old house with half crawl space and half basement. Pretty sure it was not worth the $18,000 I paid them. I gave a 5 star review initially, but this water in basement has happened every time we have heavy rain, before and after they did their work. They came out and said they could try something else but have not heard from them about that in several months.

Sunny estimated his guys could get the job done in 10-12 business days. They got it done in 9 total days. Sunny thought some of my floor tiling might get destroyed and might have to get replaced when his workers demolished the shower. Instead they demolished the shower and had everything out of the house for trash pick-up in a few hours without scratching a single tile on the floor. His team constantly exceeded expectations. They showed up on time every day and worked almost non-stop until the end of the day. At the end of it all, the quality of work done by everyone on the team was top notch. They were able to make our vision a reality, and they did it at a pretty fair price. Anyone looking to avoid a contractor horror story with their remodel should call Perfect Remodeling.

My original project was the guest bathroom. Having used ARJ remodeling a couple of years ago (See…read morereview from a couple of years ago Master Bathroom - amazing job!), I reached out to them again - added bonus, I know and trust the quality of the work. Quote was reasonable, I would supply the materials. Total gutting of the bathroom - Tom suggested a walk-in shower. Stayed on budget, work completed in a couple of days. The bathroom looks great! During the bathroom remodel, I inquired about the kitchen. Tom gave me two quotes. Went with the 2nd quote, which would remove a wall and add an island. Wow! What a transformation!! Went with all of Tom's recommendation, which included additional cabinets/crown molding to complete the look, recessed lighting, new sink, counter tops, floors and changing/adding electrical outlets. Really opens up the place. Friends and family all remark on the craftmanship and how amazing it looks. Kitchen was completed on time and within budget. Tom and his team are very professional. Easy to work with, hard working, knowledgeable - went above and beyond. Very satisfied with all of my rooms. Will definitely call them again with my next remodel.

I was asked to pick out tile, fixtures, and cabinets from a list of vendors. I had initially…read moreselected grey cabinets, but called the vendor back to change my preference to white. I used white cabinet samples to compare to the countertops during selection. The work was done quickly at first. Demo took a couple days with the owner and one worker. When it came time to install the cabinets, they had ordered the grey color cabinets. When I called the vendor to confirm my color choice, she informed me that ARJ had never placed an order with them. The cabinets (and presumably the tile as well) must have been ordered from some alternate vendor. ARJ fought with me to insist that the grey cabinets were fine and looked good. I had to insist that they install the cabinets that I selected. Because the shower pan installation didn't account for the lip of the shower bench, the bench installation was done by cutting a notch out of my doorframe to accommodate. When I insisted this be corrected, the bench was cut down smaller and the notch was filled with silicone caulk (which shrunk upon drying). The mosaic tile used for the shower pan floor and on the walls was uneven and poorly cut and installed. ARJ blamed this on defective tiles from the manufacturer and insisted that this could not be avoided. No spacers were used on the mosaic tile resulting in uneven and jagged lines. Tiles were chipped and cracked during installation. There was a film left from the grout which has stained the tile floors. The wall tile and shower tile are still covered with a film. The light fixtures that were installed were not even centered above the sinks, and when I asked to have this corrected, ARJ suggested just moving the mirror over (even though this would also be off-center with the sink). I asked ARJ for an itemized invoice for the cost of materials numerous times and they never provided one. I was charged over $5,000 for materials (tile, cabinets, and countertops - fixtures were purchased personally). When confronted with the issues, ARJ argued that the work was fine and that the damage to the tiles was hardly noticeable, especially if you stood back from the walls. I insisted on receiving an itemized invoice because I feel certain I was overcharged for the materials (including the tile that was damaged).

Terrible contractor service, and quality of work is just as poor. If you meet with Steven Hairston…read morehe will promise you that his team is the best in Atlanta, but the guy knows nothing about contracting and just serves as a borderline assistant to the real contractor that will come and do the job. Price was high, but because of the reviews we went with the service. The team states in the contract that they were paying for "mud, drywall, screws, and materials." However, you will get a hefty bill with all of those items listed for what you have to pay for. Then, you will get pushback when you want to see the receipts to verify the costs. When you involve the manager and ask to verify receipts (common practice if you are paying $2,000+ for materials on top of the initial cost for the work - over $22,000), you will get push back and an attitude. As the customer, you are always wrong and they are always right (even when the electrical they install is faulty). Their response will be, "did you turn the breaker on?" Terrible customer service, and beware of them making you pay for everything up front. It is a scam. They will take your money, and the quality of customer service and work will quickly deteriorate. We have worked with 5+ contractors on our job, and none of them have been as bad as Valet Works. All of them ironically have questioned the work, and price, of Valet Works. However, Valet Works will be quick to say these other contractors are "not qualified" or "don't know what they are doing." If you want a job done right, and at an affordable cost, don't use these guys.
