This past spring I was struck by a car as a pedestrian and endured extremely serious polytraumatic injuries. After four major reconstructive surgeries, and over a month at a hospital and skilled nursing facility, I was finally able to come home in a wheelchair. Shortly thereafter, I started going to Lake Washington Physical Therapy, seeing primarily Nate and John. When I first started physical therapy, I was still in a wheelchair, with very limited mobility, constant pain, and many, many restrictions. I cannot overstate the severity of my case, from innumerable broken bones to extensive nerve damage. Now, around four months later, I am walking again and back to regular activities like swimming, hiking, and even paddle boarding! Even more importantly, I'm able to live a normal life again -- play with kids, drive, cook, and I will be going back to work shortly. Nate, John (and Brandon!) have been nothing short of spectacular in my recovery and I attribute my remarkably short recovery (for the severity of my injuries) on the talented work of these therapists. The combination of mobility, flexibility, strength training, and nerve recovery exercises combined with the kind and positive environment cultivated at LWPT make going to therapy a joy. What's really neat is that each therapist brings a unique perspective but they are cohesively in sync with my progress and the excercises I am working on and are able to augment seamlessly. I'm excited to continue my recovery with their help -- true rockstars and life-savers in helping me regain my quality of life! P.S. I also wanted to note that the front desk staff were so helpful with my insurance hurdles and getting the necessary extra paperwork to ensure that my therapy sessions would be fully covered (as they should be due to my insurance plan and circumstance) but insurance was dragging their heels. Shout out to front desk staff!

I've been going to Advantage PT for almost a year now, after tearing my ACL skiing last spring…read more This being my first sports injury and surgery, I was overwhelmed with the process and nervous about my recovery. More grave for me, I was very uncertain about what I would and wouldn't be able to do again. I had just started my dream job of working outdoors seasonally and feared I'd have to temper my expectations in that work going forward. Advantage came highly recommended from another clinic who was full and, while I'm sure that clinic is also great, I couldn't be more thankful that I landed in the hands of Rachel Stoner, my primary therapist, and the rest of the staff at Advantage. On the first day I met Rachel, she assured me, without hesitation or exception, that I will do the things I enjoy again. That unwavering confidence was exactly what I needed in that moment and I knew was in good hands. Rachel has been extremely patient and flexible with me and my personal struggles. Her kindness and levity have been welcome beacons of hope in my admittedly long rehab process. When I've had setbacks and "fallen off the wagon" with my exercises, she's approached getting me back on track free of judgment and guilt, instead offering solutions and encouragement to incorporate exercises into my daily routine, with a focus on the most important parts for me to get back to being active. She instinctively knows when to push me and when to give me space. She's celebrated every gain with me, however small, and helped picked me up when I've fallen down. I've also had the chance to work with many of the other therapists at Advantage over these months, including Chris, the owner. They all have been equally outstanding in their kindness and empathy toward their patients' recoveries and challenges. I came in extremely uncertain of what my rehab would look like. I will come out missing my weekly hour spent with Rachel and seeing the rest of the team at Advantage PT. I look forward to sharing my first photos with them of me backpacking, climbing and maybe even skiing again. When I do, I know I couldn't have done it with them.

My lower back, hips and core have been weak due to the multiple pregnancies as well as prior injuries so my pelvic floor doesn't have much support. Kerri has taught me all the important exercises that target tiny support muscles I've neglected for years and I feel myself finally getting stronger. I wasn't sure I'd be able to do much with the pain and aches that was often debilitating and kept seeming to pop up on different locations but Kerri is definitely a pro and I'm excited about the progress we've been making! I've been to many PTs before for different ongoing injuries and Kerri is by far my favorite. The office is also clean, spacious and I like that treatment areas are more private than in some other offices. Though my interactions with others is minimal, everyone else I've engaged with has been super friendly and efficient.

No. Don't go here if you are over 35…read more This practice has a large PT aides/assistants to physical therapists ratio. Really large. You'll get little time with an actual PT, and the aides/assistants aren't always the best--don't always know proper form, etc. With the PT trying to farm out much of the work to these helpers and trying to just be a coordinator/director, you won't get the care you really need...unless you are an athlete under age 35. The PTs seem to focus their time on athletic rehab for true athletes under 35 (and probably really under 30). I came here to begin rehab after a total knee replacement. And I am over 25. Big mistake. Basically wasted almost four of my PT visits from insurance before I had had enough and made a change.
