I was using my shoulder the first week! I later learned ATI would have just literally handed me a lits of exercises and left me with an "assistant." For the same money! Their urgent care is first rate and so quick, you can call to get a suggested time. Over the years I have had courses of evaluation and physical therapy for torn rotator cuff, tennis elbow, piraformis syndrome, and currently for ACL rupture. At age 65 I just ruptured my ACL 1/15/18, was seen 1/16, had MRI 1/17, had first physical therapy 1/19, surgical eval 1/ 23 at the Sports Med. Center ,and surgery 1/26/18. I will have to wait for two weeks to be evaluated. If you have broken bones - and are in pain - go elsewhere for REAL medical attention. Never again! Worst possible care. They (this is systemic within many Froedtert clinics ) treat everyone like we are all drug addicts. Apparently they don't understand that not giving pain medication when it is truly needed and appropriate ...is as bad as over prescribing or prescribing medication when it isn't needed. It has been over 6 months since my last session with Dr Eric schmitz. In 2021 I had four disc herniations, L2 to L5,into my spinal column that severely impacted my quality of life and my family's well-being for the past 5 years. in addition I have apparently had spondylolisthesis for 30 years or more, since childhood or high school football or the military. . . who knows. I had previously tried a different physical therapist but felt that I wasn't heard and the exercises were too painful. I had many sessions with Dr Eric and continually peppered him with questions and details. He was able to be thoughtful rather than dismissive and to respond carefully and precisely to provide informed insights, stretches and exercises to target my numerous weaknesses. I know he didn't do it alone, but we found the key stretches and exercises to help me eventually return to being a functional human being and father. I had nearly written myself off as a goner (no joke), but now I finally believe that I can make it and i once again have hope for the future. while my back will never be what it used to be, my multitude of canes and back braces are no longer needed and I'm almost entirely pain-free for the first time in 6 years. Furthermore, I finally believe I have the techniques, knowledge and tools to understand its behavior and manage it effectively. if you're in this situation I highly recommend buying a massage table so that you don't have to go onto the floor.
