As previous reviews have said, THE OWNER WILL NOT RESPOND TO YOU IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO CANCEL YOUR GYM MEMBERSHIP. I initially had a 1 year membership, and during the 11th month, I contacted the owner through email telling him I wanted to cancel my membership after the 12th month had been billed. He didn't respond, so once the 12th month of my membership came up, I followed up with another email, phone call, AND text message, no answer on ANY of my attempts. The next month, I was billed AGAIN. I sent an email politely asking what had happened, but again, no reply. Thankfully, I got things squared away (without any help from the owner of the gym.) The gym itself is fine, equipment is alright, though most of the good equipment seen there is owned by someone else and locked up in storage. (When the owner marketed that it was his own equipment.) Hopefully for future members, they are treated with proper respect as a paying member of the gym. Because the gym itself isn't bad, just the owner has some very suspect business practices. read more

Amazing work out in 20-30min with a great group of positive people. All levels from beginners to pros. I get more out of this three day a week 20-30 min workout than I do going to the gym 6 days a week for 2 hours each! Highly recommend to get one on one training for the first few weeks to make sure you are lifting correctly . Lindsey does a great job training my 9 and 11 year old. I give this a one star, because the staff there is VERY rude and unpersonable. I dont know about you but when i go to the gym or to work and i am paying someone to train or coach me in crossfit's case i want them to do just that. Here at Crossfit fast i went in for one class and will never go back. The instructor or whatever he was (he could have been the janitor for all i know because thats how uninvolved in my work out he was) he wrote some stuff up on the board and said ok do that let me know when your done. I had no idea what any of the things on the board meant as crossfit workouts have unusual names, and when i asked him what they meant he looked at me like i was some kind of degenerate, and very quicly talked me through them, with very weak explanations (keep in mind i was THE ONLY person in there at this time THE ONLY ONE). He could have easily showed me an example of each movement, however he took the lazy and unmotivated way out. I will never go back to this place, if you want to try crossfit there are many other great places to go locally that i have found that are more like a one on one session in a group of 10-20. I was in town visiting my parents, so I dropped by for a workout. I didn't expect anything out of the ordinary but Terry and his staff are super welcoming and helpful. The gym was very well equipped, and even had some niche machinery that I had never seen before. Terry made sure I knew how to use them and demonstrated good technique. Never have I worked out in a atmosphere like this. It's like working out at Cheers (minus the beer). Everyone knows your name. The people that run the gym and workout in it are super supportive and welcoming. It's my home away from home. Two years ago I found myself bored with all the gyms out there, I started looking into self-defense classes, fencing, anything different. Then I found Crossfit Fast. This was my second time dropping in to Crossfit FAST - both times were great experiences. Drop in fee is reasonable, $20. First of all, the gym is big, which I like because there is plenty of room and you're not on top of one another. One side is for crossfit classes and the other side is for their olympic lifters (which this gym has an impressive amount of olympic lifters). They also have a green in the back which is always a plus for a gym to have (to push prowler's down and what not). Also, there is plenty of equipment which is nice. I've been to gyms where there isn't enough equipment to go around - the equipment is also high quality! Terry (the head trainer) is awesome too! Very kind, very inviting, knows his stuff. He really promotes working on your form and focusing on your personal goals rather than racing to beat the person next to you. His programming though, is by far some of the best programming I've ever seen. I crossfit at least 5 days / week, and I've been doing it for 2 years .... both times I have left Crossfit FAST, the workouts kicked my behind (which i love as that is why I pay for this!) I have a local Club basketball team called the Vipers. Each season, we take a small group of maybe 6 to 8 boys for a once per week workout. We go for several weeks straight. My son has gotten so much stronger and athletic as a direct result of Coach Terry's training. We are coming up on our third season working with Athletix and I am 100% positive that Terry will get the next group of young men strong, quick and better able to handle the court contact. If you want to get in great shape and are tired of the same old routine, this is the place for you. The trainers and coaches are very knowledgable on fitness and diet. They are always willing to spend time to find a routine that is best for your personal needs. I have always been an athlete and nothing kicks my butt quite like a Crossfit workout. I worked out here for 1 yr. I was very happy with Coach Terry's training and scaling of CF wods for new people. Staff was very thoughtful and engaging. The new facility is top flight. While there is another crossfit box nearby. I don't think it is very professional for it's owner to use Yelp to denegrate his local competition by posting faked bad ratings of several local CF gyms. I don't know about you but I would'nt want to patronize any business who's owner does that sort of thing. It brings up the question of what sort of business ethics that he operates under. Very questionable if you ask me. If you wish to experience crossfit while using the newest equipment with a "ethical" staff that have competed in this year's Crossfit games, then you should train at CrossFit Fast. read more

Really great gym! I come either in the mornings or at lunch, and it's never crowded. There are tons of squat racks, benches, and bumper plates, as well as the standard gym machines (cable pulldowns, leg press, etc). I really couldn't ask for anything more. read more

I had been going to regular gyms for 10-15 years. I thought i was fit. But I joined last year after realizing my body had fallen into a pattern and I wasnt seeing any new improvements. What I found was that its best suited for people who are serious about improving their health. Its not like a regular gym. Theres no place to hide. You work harder than you ever have before and the results are far, far better than I had in all those years at the regular gym. In 30 days I lost 10 lb of fat and gained 5lb of muscle. I've been a member here for about a year an I have never been in the best of shape in my life. I usually don't stay at a gym for that long but the community, coaches and camaraderie brought me back every single day. They provide such a warm aroma it makes it fun to be there. I've made really good life long friends who are in there later years and early years and I am only 22. I also was able to hold my first charity athletic event here to help fight against human trafficking for free. Terry personally helped me plan and set up the event and coached me on running a event. WHAT A FANTASTIC GYM! I joined Crossfit Fast about 9 months ago and couldn't imagine going anywhere else! After being scammed by several different gyms throughout Westlake and Thousand Oaks area, I was very hesitant to join yet another gym that "promises results". Boy - was I wrong! From the fantastic staff to the awesome atmosphere, Crossfit FAST is the perfect gym! Whether you are looking to lose a couple pounds or train to be in the Crossfit games, CF Fast has all the tools you'll need to succeed! When I initially joined Fast my hope was to lose a few inches in time for "bikini season" and I can proudly say after many months with my awesome (and VERY SUPPORTIVE!) lifting coach, Mike Tromello, I competed in my FIRST EVER Crossfit competition last Saturday and it felt amazing!!! Not only did I walk into that competition confident, strong and proud (and with a 17.5% body fat ratio!) but I had THE MOST AMAZING support from the coaches and other CF FAST MEMBERS. In one word, Crossfit FAST is EXTRAORDINARY. In less than three months I noticed huge changes in my fitness; improved technique, increased strength and stamina, and less body fat. All of these improvements have lead to greater functional fitness and increased energy level. My times are quicker, my weights are heavier, and my feet are faster. Great gym and well equipped. Plenty of room. they offer classes almost all day and the best part is they offer open gym all day, even for those dropping in. Not many other places I've traveled to will let you do your own programming. Staff was friendly and helpful. I know there are a few other crossfit gyms in the Westlake Village area, but if you are in town and looking for a place to drop in, I highly recommend stopping in CF Fast. read more

Nice guy until you want to cancel your membership...My son went to Athletix during the spring of 2018 to get ready for track season. It was located close to his high school so the location was ideal. The gym itself was totally fine, clean, had what my son was looking for. Terry was great with him and always willing to help him out. HOWEVER, once track season was over, my son decided he didn't need to be going there anymore and would work out closer to home. I contacted Terry and cancelled my son's membership. That was roughly May or June of 2018. It wasn't until early 2019 that my husband told me that Athletix was still deducting $100 from our cc every month. I immediately contacted Terry. Long story short, he promised he would credit back our credit card monthly until the full amount had been refunded. When that didn't happen, I contacted him again (and again...). His first excuse he gave me after several weeks of me trying to get ahold of him was that he had been out of town but would address it when he gets back. Again, nothing. Contacted him again (several times). Finally a response from him that he'd been sick, then busy with this and that. Again, promised a reimbursement. Again, nothing. His last note to me was, "I'm sorry for not getting back to you early. I have not forgot about you guys... I switched my billing system over to a new processor...", etc., etc. Long story short, he said he would issue a check each month. I gave him our address. That was on July 30th. Since then we have still received ZERO dollars reimbursement and he no longer responds to my calls or texts. Seemingly nice guy, but wow. Zero attempt at reimbursing us what amounts to about $1,000. Sad that business owners can get away with that. read more

Nothing like it. This is the only gym I have come across from Woodland Hills to Newbury Park that has all the equipment it does. Not just a CrossFit gym, has a ton of free weights and machines, new rogue echo bikes, erg machines, stair steppers, and a whole outdoor turf area with tires and sleds that I couldn't find any photos of online. On top of being stocked up, it's open 24/7. Other trainers are super nice and knowledgeable. Terry runs a Grade A facility. read more

Myself and my co-workers signed up for the month. Well before the month ended we decided to leave. It was close to 90 degrees on most occasions and was simply to uncomortable. I've been eyeing this gym for a while, but due to work and family schedules, I haven't found the opportunity to join a class. However, I am training for this year's Spartan Trifecta, and this time I'm doing it competitively. I knew they had the obstacle equipment and after reviewing Coach Terry's creds, I was convinced this was the place to be. I called him up and asked for a private session to focus on rope climb. I am a basic female, lacking upper body strength. I don't dedicate my whole time to the gym because I have two toddlers and a husband at home. I met up with coach Terry and he's extremely nice and very knowledgeable. I learned how to climb a rope in about 10 mins. I couldn't believe it. He made it very simple to learn. He even went above and beyond by showing me other obstacle techniques and spending additional time with me. As a result of my positive experience, I enrolled in their gym membership so I have access to the rope and other Spartan-esq obstacle equipment. I'll be recommending this place to everyone. Oh - and I would totally upload my video that he took of me finally getting the rope climb, but now I want to perfect it before posting. :p read more

I love that they give you a plan. I think the gym could be cleaner, however, it is big. The trainers they have are really great. Steve is the best! I wish there were negative stars for this place. The owners advertises this place as having 24 hour access, so I signed up. This place doesn't offer crossfit classes anymore, which is fine by me because I really was after doing my own thing with the equipment. Anyway the open gym isn't really open. For one thing he never provided me with anyway to access the gym during off hours. Also, he sublets the space to other trainers, who do group classes and take up the whole space. This was huge pain in the ass. For the money I was able to find everything that I needed at 24 Hour. So I came in to cancel my membership. The owner referred me to an email account to process the cancellation. Not sure why this is--I believe that it's his email. So I emailed to cancel. The cancellation did not go through and I was billed again. I went down to the gym to see what happened (6weeks later). He shrugged and did something on the computer and said that should do it. Well it's been over two weeks and I did not receive a refund for the money he withdrew from my account without my consent. I went down again a few days ago and left a note. No surprise there was zero resolution. Well so far the gym's owner has taken money from me and lied about it. Draw your own conclusions. This will probably end up with me having to get a new debit card number to avoid more theft. I guess I'll have to either accept that he took my money or file a small claims case. I felt compelled to write a review because since the first day that I tried CrossFit FAST, I was hooked. I could tell it was going to be just the right type of workout I liked. Hard, intense and totally motivating. I have run and biked on the trails for years but this training is by far the best. Terry Hudson, the owner, is fantastic with people and motivates each of his classes. He trains you in the right techniques and is a true coach in every session. I can see why this business is so successful. I have also worked with Nick and Jose and they are excellent coaches and motivate you. Beyond that, every person I have met has loved it and I see them over and over. There are some seriously fit people here and each of them takes the time to help others learn the sport of CrossFit. Besides the fitness, you meet amazing people who like to work out hard and be healthy. I am motivated to go back each time just seeing how disciplined and motivated they are.
