They performed exceptionally under stress and are wildly underpaid. Basically performing charity work at this point. My main grievance stems from the singular fact that this is a FOR PROFIT INSTITUTION!!!! This is something that is critical to consider, as it will greatly effect your care! While the floor level staff all genuinely care and wish to help make people better, the organizational structure above them only cares about keeping beds full. They take on court holds that really don't have business being in the facility, they cut corners on quality of life/recreational activities, they severely understaff wings, and do everything they can to achieve maximum profit margins. Whenever that happens, ESPECIALLY when you lack agency in making choices for your own care, your outcomes here will likely suffer. Again. I don't want to disparage the staff. Almost all the people I interacted with were phenomenal. If anything, this is more an audit on the mental health system as a whole than it is on just this one place. We need to fund mental health services on a state and federal level at a much higher rate, to prevent unscrupulous carpetbaggers like EVBHC from ravaging the community.

I spent 3 hours of my time to coordinate an after care -transitional living program for my loved one same day of being notified of Eagle Views discharge plan. Whoever is in "charge" of patients being discharged and their aftercare program from this facility should be fired. They did absolutely nothing to help stabilize my loved one's future once discharged from this facility. Patient was discharged and placed on a bus and returned back to the streets to a homeless shelter knowing the patient was homeless and struggling with dual diagnosis symptoms.

Don't expect assistance when you press the call button on the first or second time; during rehab,…read moredon't expect them to understand visual impairment; food is extremely bland, and don't expect salt and pepper for patients with no diet restrictions (but they provide a lot of sugar for a savory meal); noise volume is high unless you shut the door; the hvac unit fan is so loud, it drowns out conversations when trying to respect your roommate; belongings are not safe in your room; nursing will ease drop on personal conversations and butt in (conversations were not about the facility); and showers only twice a week. I wish I went with my first choice, but I chose something closer to home. Do NOT make the same mistake!

Due to the trauma on his body and brain being deprived of oxygen he experienced a common disorder called icu delirium and goes away with time. When discharged my father was sent to a rehab facility and due to immobility concerns needed a long term care. We called this facility and was denied due to a medication he was taking for the delirium. Mind you my fathers mind is clear he is able to make financial decisions, and using his laptop computer and cellphone. This facility only cares about money and nothing about patient care. We chose this facility because it has a lot to offer but to be denied over one medication is insanity. They also claim they offer memory care services for patients with Alzheimer's and dementia. If you were to ever look into there medication history you will find the pages of medications for mental health and mood stabilizers. Don't go here they really don't care about helping our community.

These back spasms were the result of a previous injury & were causing me extreme pain to even move my neck enough to get into the car, let alone twist or reach to pull the car door shut. Heather is very experienced, the highest of professionals & knows what methods to use to address the pain and/or limitations I presented. She tested my mobility and drilled down to the areas to target to recover as quickly as possible. By the 2nd visit, I was able to drive myself to the appointment. My sister in law was a resident of Hope Creek from Oct 17 2022 until she passed away Jan 12, 2025…read more My husband, age 84, visited her very often. He thought she was taken care of. For a while she was taken care of but over the years things changed. Charlotte would be out in the hall by the dining room away from her wing. She developed dementia. She was neglected and her needs were not met. Complaints were blown off. Dec 24 2024 we visited at 3:30 pm. She was in bed and unresponsive. We got the nurse. The nurse did not even check her; she just proudly said that she had her up in a wheel chair from 6am until she was brought back from the Christmas party at 3 for disturbing the party yelling for help. She said Char was a fall risk and she had to stay up. My husband visited at noon Christmas day. He helped her with her dinner. She asked to go back to her room to lay down. He was told he couldn't take her to her room that she had to stay up because she was a fall risk. She kept yelling to go to her room. They put her in a recliner and he just wheeled her to her room. She is fall risk so they punished her by making her stay up in a wheel chair for hours. No one changed her or gave her a drink. Jan 3, 2025 Charlotte was sent to the emergency room with breathing difficulties. The ER nurse called us to find out who was responsible for Charlottes care that she was severely dehydrated, mal nourished, weighed 80 pounds and was unresponsive except to say help. . The ER doctor called and he was angry about Charlottes condition. er further testing he found that Char had a blood clot in her lung, several blood clots in her legs and a huge open bed sore. She The doctor said she would not survive surgery and it would be best to place her in hospice care so that she received pain medication, was comfortable and taken care of. We asked to send her to another facility and this was not possible. Jan 6th, she returned to Hope Creek in Heartland Hospice Care. Heartland sent a patient care person who bathed, changed, dressed and combed her hair every day. The Hospice nurse visited every day and was on call. Hope Creek nursing staff did as little as possible to care for her. The neglect by Hope Creek continued. Jan 7th, Hospice called to tells us her condition was deteriorating. We called my brother in law,85, to meet us at Hope Creek. When I got arrived there was no chair by her bed. I had to go from wing 4th all the way to the reception desk and talk to three people to have someone get us chairs. The four of us stayed for over 4.5 hours. NOT one Hope Creek employee came in the check on her. At 5pm they came and repositioned her and did not check to see if she needed changing. We called twice in the evening to check on her and the phone was transferred to the wing and NO ONE answered. Jan 8, she was in pain when I arrived. I asked her nurse when she had pain medication last. Her nurse did not know but would check when she got around to it. I called Heartland. When I returned to the wing the hospice nurse was talking to her nurse. I asked about the pain medication and she said she had given it about 10 minutes prior. That it was ordered only as necessary. Her explanation of how to tell if she was in pain included asking for help. I asked how they knew if the never went in her room. She said she could hear her all the way down the hall. The nurse could not have been in her room. She could not yell. You had to be withing 5 feet to hear her. She was placed in a recliner in the hall while an air mattress was put in place. I could see her toes. The nails were yellow and green and the big toe nails were loose and detached at the cuticle. I took pictures. Why did no one have this taken care of. Every time we were there she had shoes on. I asked about the bed sore on and was told it was an end of life sore that just pops up. Not true! Every complaint was blown off. We were even told that the administrator did not work out of Hope Creek. We were always referred to Amber Hart who is useless. Evening calls to check on her were not answered after 20 minutes. We called the Hospice nurse and and after two calls and 45 minutes got a nurse who said she was sleeping. Jan 9, I0 we visited two times a day for over 2 hours. Finally we got the pain med ordered to be given every 2 hours. Jan 11th I was there over 6 hours. Same situation. I always stayed to make sure she was really asleep and peaceful before I would leave. We attended every care plan meeting and we voiced our concerns. She was never wearing her own clothes except for her shoes. Complaints about missing items were answered with we have no way to know who did it. We asked to put a camera in her room and it was not allowed. They accepted no accountability for anything. I tried to get a picture of the bed sore but the nurse would not let me. I would never put a helpless patient there. No rating low enough.

This was the email that I tried to send to Hope Creek, but their email is not receiving any…read moreemails... I think it is important for you to hear my mom's story about her stay at Hope Creek. It is not what we expected, by a long shot. There was no "hope". The care she received was terrible. She came to you with a broken hip and during her stay, broke her other hip and rebroke the original hip. Is this the care that you would hope for your mom or dad? I think not. Communication about my mom's care was near non-existent. I am out of town and it would often take me 5-6 days to actually reach a nurse at the station to talk to me. When I did reach someone, the information shared was little. There did not seem to be a passion for the caregivers to connect clients with their family members. I spoke with the social worker early on, but subsequent to that contact, I never received return calls to my questions. She seemed very disconnected, uncaring and did not facilitate positive care for my mom. After a meeting with "key" people, we opted to put my mom on hospice and for her meds to be discontinued. After talking to staff five days later, NOTHING had been put in place. No hospice nurse was visiting; she was still taking all of her meds and her records had not been transferred to the hospice facility. We transferred my mom to a hospice facility. She arrived with two untreated bed sores. One on her bottom and one on her heel. When they stood her up to weigh her, food fell out of her clothes. Her clothes were dirty. No records from Hope Creek had been transferred. Again, is this the care you would want for your mom or dad? We expected more. Since this is a private facility and we privately paid over $7,000 a month, one would expect quality care. The care we received was what one might expect from a public aide facility, unfortunately. What can you do? As the director, I hope you can get your hands dirty and weed out the nurses, social worker and caregivers that do not have clients in their best interest. No one wants to place their loved ones in a facility, but it is often needed. Trust is given to love and take care of one's loved ones. This care is not happening at Hope Creek. Compassion needs to be instilled in staff. Diligent care needs to be instilled in staff. Staff needs to treat each client as if they are their parent/grandparent, etc. I hope you read this and reread this. I hope you read this to staff. I hope that if ever your loved one needs to be placed at a nursing facility that they will be treated with compassion, love and dignity. Unfortunately, my mom did not receive this at Hope Creek. My heart is broken for my mom. I can't go back in time, but if so, I would have placed her in the hospice facility much earlier so she would receive quality care.
