Doctors just gave me information on different ways to stretch or suggested pain medications that I didn't want to take. I started reading about chiropractors online and I quickly realized that there are two kinds of people - those that believe in chiropractors, and those that don't. I read more about what people had experienced that they liked and what people claimed was detrimental to their health. I went to Iowa to visit a friend and found out that his dad was a chiropractor. My friend had already told his dad that I was often experiencing back pain, and his dad offered to check my back for me. In two sessions most of my pain was completely gone and by the end of my visit I felt like I'd been given a new body! He helped me correct my posture, which still isn't perfect, but is a whole lot better than it was! Two years later I am still pain free, though an occasional adjustment does wonders for day to day living. I highly recommend Dr. Rowe for anyone who wants help with their back troubles - or other troubles, as he has a very holistic perspective on health and even cured a minor cold and ear ache for me last summer in a matter of hours. He is a friendly, eccentric man who works out of his home. He charges next to nothing for his services and does accept certain insurances. Definitely someone to check out if you are looking for a good chiropractor! Dr. Howard Rowe's son, Dr. Jason Rowe, is also a chiropractor, and they often work together. Dr. Jason Rowe is very much like a younger version of his father when it comes to the care he provides. I have been seen by both and can assure you that they both provide excellent chiropractic care!

My daughter had the pharmacy call her office on 3 occasions over a month to get a med refill. Neither of us received a call that she needed to be seen before the med could be refilled. Thus my daughter went without her meds for a month. Finally I called and found out she needed a yealry appt. how hard is it to call your patient ? So when my daughter went, even though we have ins and most providers bill what ins does not pay, Bev would not see her without $60 upfront. I get it if she were not an established patient as well as our entire family with Deere insurance, But we have been with her since the beginning. After not calling her that she needed to be seen and turning her away over a copay that we have always been good for, Bev decided to place money over care. She has always gotten paid. I explained I had an HSA card coming to me and wanted to pay out of that, but would not treat my daughter without her co pay. Again. We were established patients. I am deeply disappointed. Don't go here. Find a physician that won't turn a kid away over a few bucks when the family has always paid the provider.

We moved to the QC area 22 years ago and started looking around for a dental office. We went to…read moreanother place first that had a bunch of dentists and claimed to be great with families and kids. We did NOT have a good experience there and then someone told us about Dr. Nelson. We immediately fell in love with the office and the people there. The general staff has changed over, almost completely, since we started going there. That would be expected as people move or their family circumstances change, but the care and professionalism has remained constant. There has been an occasional glitch with what the insurance will pay, but not any more than I've had with medical doctors' offices. The problem is that doctors and dentists don't (or haven't historically, at least) have "real-time" connections with insurance companies. If you go to a pharmacy, their computer can tell you immediately if your medication is covered, and the price you'll pay, but this is not the case with doctors and dentists. Each time there's been a problem we've been able to get it figured out and take care of it. Dr. Nelson has a Type A personality and is constantly jumping from bay to bay as he and his team take care of patients. It is a well-orchestrated "dance" that ensures that you don't have a lot of time just sitting around while all the activity is next to or behind you. He uses all of the latest techno-wizardry available. One of my favorites is a CNC-type machine that can make a crown out of a cube of whatever kind of material a crown is usually made of, while you wait. The machine makes the actual permanent crown, not some temporary one. He took me back and let me watch it work on a crown for me. When it was done, he "glued" it onto my tooth and I was out the door with a permanent crown (and no need for a return visit in 10 days to get the "real" crown installed). What a time (and money) saver. At the end of each visit, the staff puts together a "goody bag" including a toothbrush (or brush head if you have an Oral-B electric toothbrush), toothpaste samples, and other tooth-related items. It isn't a BIG thing, but is an example of some of the little things they do at this office to let you know they appreciate you. The best example of why I wouldn't think of going to another dentist is because of something Dr. Nelson once did for me over a weekend. He had done some extensive work on one of my teeth, trying to save the "root". This was on a Thursday, as I remember. Once the anesthetic wore off, the tooth started bothering me. I took ibuprofen and tried to gut it out, thinking I would get it fixed on Monday (they only see patients for a half day on Friday). Well my plan didn't work. The pain kept getting worse and I eventually decided I wouldn't make it to Monday. I hated to bother Dr. Nelson on a Saturday evening, but I either needed a root canal or pain relief that was stronger than ibuprofen. Dr. Nelson said he was going to finish dinner then call me back to meet him at the office. When I got there, he sat me down, took one look in my mouth and said he would have to do a root canal right after all. Using my chest as a staging area for his tools and equipment, he got down to business and, half an hour later, I had (yet another) rootless tooth in my head. Maybe any dentist would do that for a patient, but it was a first for me. The bottom line is, I wouldn't think of changing dentists and hope Dr. Nelson doesn't retire anytime soon.

I was not given a call or even an email about being delinquent, which is typically how the office corresponds with me. I showed up to my appointment today and was told that my appointment was canceled (despite me receiving a reminder for said appointment) and I was permanently ejected from the practice for missing this one bill. I paid the $32 immediately and they squeezed me in for cleaning but reminded me that I could never return. I understand it was my mistake, but being ejected from a practice you've been going to for nearly 20 years for one $32 unpaid bill seems extreme. I was humiliated. I've never missed an appointment (I canceled once due to RSV) or a bill, and I even have private insurance. It was an honest mistake on my part, but I was told they make no exceptions.
