While the doctor seem exceptionally good their assistants are crap they never return calls or make appointments their responsible for or fill prescriptions on time and my son called with real medical concerns for 3 weeks and never a response anything could have happened at that time very dangerous for the injury he has ,and if you do walk ins the wait times are unbelievable toooo long . The 20 minute dr visit is almost not worth all the other hassle that comes with it ...I apologize same doctors but Athens location !!! read more

Better have good insurance before going here. It seems to affect the quality of service you will receive. We paid $500 cash for a 5 minute physicians assistant visit, not even a doctor to see. They proceeded by cutting off the emergency room cast and briefly explained to us that the E.R. X-rays that showed broken bones and misaligned toes was nothing major and it would heal in time. Also if it hurt, don't walk on it. We left with no wrap, not recast, no plan of action other than an appointment for 3 weeks away. The original story they feed you upon first contact concerning a cash-pay arrangement is that you get the unused portion of cash returned upon release. With a second appointment being deemed necessary by them, I'm pretty sure that the release will be good to go after completing the next appointment when the second half of the $500 will be used up after another 10 minute useless discussion with a physicians assistant and not a doctor. My wife had been having some shoulder pain and wanted to make an appointment with this clinic. She gave them a call and provided her insurance information. They said they would have to check and get back to us. When they get back to us they said her insurance was a minimal plan and even though they excepted it they would require a $500 deposit upfront in order to see her. Now I understand this is for a regular office visit. The insurance my wife carries negotiates with all providers for special rates and then once those negotiations are done and all of the payments have been made there is an amount that the patient is responsible for. And example of this would be a doctors visit to her primary physician for an extended visit. When she did that recently the patient responsibility was $30. So asking someone for a $500 deposit upfront for what amounts to nothing more than an office visit to take a look at her shoulder makes absolutely no sense. If I was a suspicious person I would be wondering about medical insurance fraud. read more

Visited this clinic after an accident for severe swelling, bruising, and pain in my lower leg. X-rays were taken and I was told by the physician's assistant that nothing was broken. I already knew this from the x-rays my primary care physician had performed. The assistant sat across the room and only touched my leg to check how severe the swelling was. Diagnosis: Assumed blood clot. Treatment: Z-pack of steroids. This assistant neither checked mobility of my knee or ankle, nor did he check for any ligament tears/issues. If there are no broken bones, there are still ligaments and muscles which could be damaged or torn. I was given a compression stocking and sent on my way, with a follow-up appointment in 4 (!!!) weeks. Wasted $70 co-pay to walk out without a precise diagnosis. Prescription was never called in at my pharmacy. Unbelievable! Went on to another orthopedic facility to be evaluated and properly treated. read more

I don't have any reason to think that all the docs are not good technicians, but the degree of concern for your comfort and psychological well-being seems to vary widely from doctor to doctor. So recommendations from former patients are very important. And, if you have decent health insurance, do NOT agree to outpatient joint replacement. My surgeon, Dr. Ryan, vastly underplayed the pain of the procedure and overstated what painkillers administered orally at home could do. On the second day of excruciating pain, when I called and spoke to his MA, I had to start yelling and crying before she would stop trying to tell me how unreasonable I was being and take my distress seriously. Joint replacement is NOT an outpatient procedure, and any doctor who tells you it isn't an excruciating way to go is not taking your overall well-being seriously. read more
