Absolutely the best dental office! Great staff and Dr. Risinger is excellent. Been going for many years.

I've been to half a dozen different dentists in Tyler and Athens & most of them are your typical small conversation rhetoric and average work performed for a hefty bill even with insurance. I had some pretty hefty work done with Dr Rigney and here is my honest takeaway : Key difference with my three visits at Athens Advanced dental was, Dr Risinger was not there to give me bs or talk to me like a child. He was courteous , patient and stating the facts of what he believed was best for me with options. I felt like he wasn't trying to sell me on anything, just the facts and answered every one of my many questions. I also felt zero pain with major work done. He was the only dentist in 10 years that took his time to explain any and all concerns I had including insurance questions and didn't make me feel like I was just a sale. Great doctor and an amazing staff. 5 stars. read more

Very dishonest when it comes to billing practices. Didn't submit all services to insurance, claimed they were not covered and were an out of pocket expense. Not true!! There is no follow-up, you have to call back for everything! Charged $2K after insurance, should have been at most $800. Service in June-still have not sent info to insurance-filed complaint with DD. Stay tuned! read more

This is the most unprofessional dentist office! They do shady billing and try to say your insurance won't cover certain items, so they don't file the claim for the items. They charge you full price for the items they don't file the claim for. When you call them out on not filing they claim, Joann says she has to file a paper claim now and it takes 45 days. That is BS! I have been trying to get reimbursed since January this year and they give you the run around and blame my insurance company. Even had a conference call with my insurance company and Joann that does the billing because my insurance wanted to know why they didn't file the claim. The dentist is a whole different story as well! He comes in, doesn't speak to you, gets an attitude with the dental assistant and degrades her constantly because she isn't moving as fast as he thinks she should. Doesn't explain what he is going to do and is aggressive while working in your mouth. read more

Dr. RIsinger and his staff provide excellent and compassionate dental care. I had a problem and was offered an appointment the same day I called the office. My problem was addressed quickly. Dr. Risinger explained my problem and discussed treatment options with me in an understandable way. He completed the procedure and I never had any pain. He is competent and caring and his staff is outstanding. I would highly recommend him and his staff. read more

If I could leave a zero i would.. Dr. Jordan Risinger is a rude and lacks any sort of compassion. I waited 45 minuyes for him to give me the numbing shots. The little over an hour he comes backs and asks "you still numb?" I say a little but not really" he says "good" and continues with the procedure. I can feel everything the does and he ignores my attempts to stop him. Then he goes to belittle his assistant because she isnt holding me down properly. Even though i can feel everything he is doing. He wouldn't listen to me or his assistant. Please if you don't like pain DO NOT go to this man. He is disrespectful and uncaring and barbaric read more
