The food was superb. Delivery of the menus came with a complementary ouzo. We had Dolma (stuffed grape leafs) for an appetizer. Then one of the mixed grills Sirtaki-Platte (#77) for two for or meal. The meats it included were Gyros, Souvlakia, Lammkotelettes, and Zouzoukakia. Also include with the meal were was a Greek salad, rice, fries and tzatziki. There was more food than we could eat. With our food we had a bottle of Retsina (Greek white wine). For dessert we shared a Baklava with ice cream. Finishing the meal off with a glass of Metaxa Private Reserve. Our waiter was extremely helpful with the menu recommendations and we were all set for a feast of great dining. The first round was the salad and that was a nice start. Fresh and crisp, what can I say. The main courses arrived and the portions were generous and everything was nice and hot. I had the Bekri Mese . The meat was tasty but not tender, Sort of that middle ground between chewy and okay. It was supposed to be spicy but fell well short. Tasty as I said but certainly not "sehr scharf". A size chunk of frites and the vegetables in the pan were nicely done. The Mousaka was a major disappointment. Aside from it being hot there is much one can comment on in a positive sense. If there was beef in the dish we could not find it. Lots of bland bechamel sauce, a liitle egg plant, but no meat. Moreover, we were convinced it was not done in the over but rather the microwave. The sauce did not have that crunch on the edges that you get from a hot oven. The top layer and edges were chewy. Off night? Bad luck on our part on which dishes to order? Not sure but a so-so meal. The food was good portion & and tastes were in line with good home cooking level, however, it would need to develop more in-depth flavor to make it exceptional. The server was awesome 5 out of 5, spoke English, attentive & even brought out an English menu when he saw me struggling. They have a pretty big menu selection of lamb entrees, so it's worthy of coming back, maybe I'll try the lamb chop & liver combo next time.
