This place has very yummy coffee and an extensive selection of chocolates. But, what makes it particularly unique is the wonderful designed interior. Cozy cafe and lunch restaurant situated in the pedestrian-friendly Storgata in the center of Lillehammer,offering - as the name suggest - assorted hand made chocolates along with more traditional cafe fare and local favorites,cakes made in-house along with pastries,a few warm selections and sandwiches make up the small-ish menu. We went with the special of the day which turned out to be a most delicious open-faced wild elk ("hjort" in Norwegian) sandwich which came beautifully presented on fresh ciabatta bread. The tender filet perfectly cooked, the baby-greens crisp, the home made sour-cream sauce packed with fresh herbs and the beautifully tart lingonberry compote served on the side made with berries hand-picked in the surrounding woods. A cozy little cafe that is also a local Chocolateria and serves lunch. Only stopped here for coffee and a piece of cake on my way through Lillehammer, it was a pleasant experience. I ordered a mocha expecting they might melt some of their chocolate into it like many chocolate places do, but looks like they just used a syrup. I should have asked first, but was a bit disappointed. Everyone else enjoyed their coffees. Nice atmosphere with a good outdoor area and big enough inside, whilst still feeling cozy. read more
